I wanted to let all of you know that my mom is doing better now. It has been a long road and there were times we weren't sure what was going to happen. She is leaving the skilled nursing facility tomorrow but will have to go to an Assisted Living apartment. We have found a very nice one that is near to all of her children and we have spent all day fixing it up with all her things so she can move right in tomorrow. Her memory has gotten worse over this time due to all the trauma her body has been through but we are hoping she will be comfortable and safe at this new place where she can be independent but has nurses checking in on her during the day and there if she needs them.

Thank you all for your thoughts and I'm hoping we are on the way back up now. Gail

Great news---- This is her big day. Awww Gail I'm just thrilled this is working out and she's doing soooooo much better..I've been thinking about her and all of you.. I hope she adjusts well and likes being there after she's settled in.

Hi Gail,
Assisted Living is great as long as your Mom is happy there. Please be sure to ask her if she likes it after having been there, for a few weeks. I had to move a relative of mine from one place to another, she just didn't like the people careing for her.. They were in her eyes too lackidacious, Not on top of what she needed, and expected, for the money she was paying, I suppose, she was right, the next place, she was much happier in.
Take Care Gail, and listen to what your Mom has to say, even though you might think you have her best interest at heart, which I'm sure you do...
I am happy to hear that she is somewhere close. that her family can check on her often. Stay Strong!!!
