Olga, thank you so much for sharing your link! We do catch bits and pieces and the interview sounds different than the usual questions we get. Would yu be able to translate at least some of it for those of us who don't speak Russian? :D Olga, anytime you have MB related items like articles we can translate or radio or TV interviews, feel free to post them on here. Sylvie, In this interview (November 2011) with Michael asked: about his Russian ancestors,about his knowledge of Russian words (Michael knows in Russian the word "thank you"-spasibo-спасибо:))),about his impressions of Moscow (Michael impressed with our Russian progress in the last 20 years.Michael was in Russia in 1986 and saw a huge contrast between the Russia of 2011 and 1986),about his plans for future concerts in Russia (Michael promises to visit the next time, along with a symphony orchestra).Michael said that only the Russian people have a hidden fire, this is no more, no one(oh yeah .. so to mock his country and his people can only Russian people:(((survive all .. we are strong! ).Michael really like the Russian public: ".. for me the Russian public is almost like family....it's weird .. like a relationship with a very distant relatives....is a relationship built into the DNA.".

Good interview!Michael flattered Russian public ..:)))))

Well spasibo for that Olga! lol I appreciate the translation of the interview. :D Don't worry about the article though: someone did bring it over and had translated it a while back: it was a very interesting exchange too, very different than the questions we North-Americans are used to. P.S.: Funny how this is the second time this year we hear of Michael doing symphonic concerts, I wonder if he has more plans to that effect...

Sylvie the interview is from the same period as the article and it too is on the thread further back....it is not Michael talking because he is going there next week ....it is from 2011 !! :)

Yes Olga Michael's Mother's maiden name is Gubin and I believe it was his maternal Grandmother who came from Leeds in the UK with his maternal Grandfather having his roots in Russia along with his paternal Grandparents having their roots in Russia too !! :)    If I am wrong please, anyone, correct !! :)

I think more importantly, that grandparents, mom and dad Michael met and fell in love and gave the world a wonderful person and a great voice-Michael Bolton :-))))

hey gals its meggy soooo i doubt ill be taking the diva to go see mb...id love to go but you just dont understand her in a car for 3 solid hours lmao...there are not enough snickers in the world to help her "diva"ness lol...love her to pieces though...anywho talk to yall later! <3

Hiya Meggy, so good to read you here girlfriend! Ah sweetie, isn't there any bus service that can take you both so you don't have to worry about driving and nerves? Girlfriend, how often does Michael go to your state? Now wouldn't it be the best Christmas present for you both? Come on baby girl: no shopping, one size fits all and memories of a lifetime! lol Now what day of the week does this concert take place? Won't you guys be due for a vacation by then so you can take a couple of days off and get there slowly? Grasping at straws much? lol Think about it girl: you have 6 months to plan! Well, all half-kidding aside, I hope you guys can find a way to make it sweetie. Thanks for coming in girl, great to hear from you. Hi Meggy and good to read you on here now how about you both keep playing the lottery and it comes up .....chauffeur driven limo there and back.....it even knocks Michael's car into insignificance, so much so, he comes out theatre and steps straight into yours.....like it so far ????? LOL.
