Hi Sylvia, I'm sorry sweetie, but that does answer my question: you haven't heard it. The song in the commercial is "The genuine Bud man" and there used to be a 1981 version and a 1986 version, if you want to give  the search a shot. Take care and good luck! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

I remember an interview some time ago he went to get a soda out of a cooler once and realized he'd sang a jingle for all of them in the cooler at the time years later!!LOL Too funny I'm sure...All of these I have on VHS someplace. Thanks for putting them here!

Does this one sound familiar to anyone?  It was on his Vintage album!! I'm thinking the commercial is what brought it to his attention and years later he recorded it!

That is quite an old video Christine - I am not too sure of the date but I know Sylvie will have a good idea and it is also the song Sylvie has playing on "her page" if you go into leave a message for her on her wall you will hear "You are my Friend".....it is also a song that both Sylvie and I would love Michael to actually record for an album as he never has for it is quite beautiful !!! :)   Thanks for finding Christine and for putting over here  !!! :)

Hi all, well first, you’re all very welcome for the MB commercials. Now Christine, what a treasure you’ve found and thank you so much for sharing it here! The song Michael sings is a Patti Labelle song called, as Sylvia said “You are my friend” and it’s been on my profile page for a few months now, I just love Michael’s rendition of it. This  is Patti’s version:

Now, I got this song a long time ago and was under the impression  it was from the very early 90’s, because I remember Michael mentioning the Essence Awards appearance in passing in an early interview, so this might even be from the very late 80’s. My guess is that you guys might be able to tell better by the way everyone looks on the video. Then again, it’s not impossible Michael appeared there more than once. Sylvie, the song was written by Patti and a couple others and released on her self titled album in 1978.  The show on the video was May 21, 1998.  In 1995 he was on the same show playing with B. B. King.

Hey Gail, Wow I remember when that was on and we all taped it on VHS.. Not long after Rock Me became part of the show as an encore.. YUP he does it even better today. I agree!!  I appreciate it posted here, I downloaded it!!LOL
