I love the new format and the fact that we can now add media files to our posts, view the post in full screen, add bold underlined coloured fonts but is anyone else having problems replying to a post or is that just me? (probably and highly likely!! Ha Ha!)
Looks like replies are limited to a certain amount of letters becasue in a previous reply today, I couldnt see the bottom of my post, it kept dissappearing and everytime I treid to view it, it would dissappear dont he page. Like on FB when you send a long message to someone you cant fit all of the text in the box and the cursor keeps flicking back up the box? Does this make sense to anyone?
This is probably just me and my like with computers and all items electrical just lately!! Ha Ha!
Has anyone else discovered anything
Isnt this exciting???

thanks jennifer as i said im so computer illiterate unless its flashing lights or something really big i just dont see it nothing to do with the wearing of glasses just a bit behind the times i to would not like to see anyone not being able to access the forum because of any changes i may nor write much on here but i love to be able to access the site and to see what everyone is doing and to read news about michael it would be sad to think that any one would not be able to do this
Ok. I've checked on this and it isn't Michael's admin people that made these changes. The NING people made them system wide and we aren't the only one with questions and problems. They are trying to work out the bugs. The only thing they changed were to add the features on top of the reply boxes but one thing they left out was the paperclip for adding files..not pictures but files so if you look under the reply box you will see upload files...use that. Also if the box isn't big enough for you to write what you want look at the lower right hand side and you will see a little icon of dashes...grab that with your mouse and drag the reply box and make it as big as you need to.
Again this site is built by a company called NING and Michael's admin people fill in the blanks so to speak. The changes were made to upgrade the features. I've talked to Robin and she is still working at getting this. I'm not sure what problems you guys are facing when you try to reply...Sylvie can you explain it to me...Robin couldn't. I don't have a problem...I just type and hit reply like always but some of you seem not to be able to do that.
It isn't going to be changed back because Michael's site isn't the only one affected...there are tons out there and most seem to like the changes. Please give me a list of what is happening for everyone that you dont' like or can't do anymore...thanks. Gail
I know its not your fault Gail and I really do appreciate everything tht you are doing for us, but, these changes mean that we have to sadly say good bye to a few screen reader users and personally, I think that sucks!!
I wonder if the ning people are aware that their changes are to the detriment of screen readers? They may be totally un aware of this?
Well, this now means that we have definately lost one of out most freuent and valuable members on here Robin. She can read, but she cannot post and I for one am totally gutted!!!
Robins posts were always humorous and informative. I feel realy sad that this has had to happen.
Sylvie, you are absolutely 100% correct, complaing about the lack of access is not causing trouble, I just wasnt sure if my friend wanted her name posted here being linked with complaints etc. Sorry, I was being deliberately evasive and thank you for your offer to send me the audio file, that is very very kind of you and I appreciate your very generous offer, but there is now no need for it for my friend.

Hi Jennifer, just wanted to ask how did you apply colour to your text, is there a button in the tool bar I am not seeing? I am using a Mac not Windows and was wondering is this why? I have no colour options!
oz.x
I am sorry Robin is having a hard time of this
I understand Gail that it can't go back bit of a shame
I will miss Robin as well let's hope Sylvie and others can help her sort it out
Oz I don't have colored fonts either and I am a windows user :)
Love Dianna xxx
Looks as though we can only apply coloured fonts when we post a new thread!! Doh!!
I thought it was for every post......I was going to have fun with that!!!
I've got to say, I am really REALLY REALLY missing Robin on here!!!!!!
This situation is the suckiest that ever sucked and boy does it really suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want Robin back!!!!!!!!
Love a disgruntled and pee'd off Jennifer XXX
I have been asked to pass on a message from Robin -
Tell them hello as i CAN'T ACCESS THE FORUM ANY MORE. I DON'T KNOW HOW SYLVIE FROM CANADA DOES IT BUT I'M NOT ABLE TO&I'M VERY UPSET ABOUT IT. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW TO WORK WITH ME ON THIS DILEMMA. SO, IF ANYONE WANTS TO CORRESPOND WITH ME, GIVE THEM MY EMAIL, OK? THANKS
-----------------------------------
If any of you who know Robin and would like her e-mail address to contact her, please pm me and I will provide it to you.
Alternatively she is on facebook for those of you who also use facebook.
I will only supply Robins e-mail address to people who already know her and would request that only people who already know Robin contact her via facebook. Thank you.

Robin hopefully will get this worked out.. I've known her for years and hope she can be back on here..I wonder if what they did is against some of the disability accessibility laws we have here in the USA? I work with people with disabilities and the screen reader programs don't like certain things and I hate it now this forum is messing up Robin's ability to use it with her system. I think by law this forum has to be made accessible but I could be wrong..
I'm behind on here so now just reading all this..Yes Robin is on FB and the Yahoogroups forum too.
Thanks for the info Gail, if it's a system wide thing, that means others on other sites with visual impairments are possibly having issues too...This day and age you would think that would be taken into consideration when making network changes affecting so many people that are members of the different forum sties on their network. .UGH!!
Robin in MD annoyed with this too :(
Hey Robin, just so you know, both Robin from CA and Gail have asked me to write to the web people and I did, just before Christmas. I've explained the main obstacles and hope they get it. My guess is that there's little chance we hear from them before next year, but the message is sent. It's really frustrating that even her partially sighted brother-in-law can't help and I don't know what else to do... I think the best person to help her would be her rehab councelor, maybe with my written and audio instructions, but don't know how easy it is to get a hold of her. Well anyway, hope the web people get back to one of us. New year, new hope, right? :D Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Ha Ha!! Well, thats two e-mail cotacts that tey will have had now!! I sent one about a week a go.
I roughly explained the situation for jaws reader users and asked to if there was anything that they can do to help so between the two of us, and our emails, hopefully we will get it sorted and Robin will be back with us soon. I certainly hope so.

Hi Sylvie, She did tell me she asked him to check it out and that he couldn't get it to work either. So frustrating, glad Gail pointed you in the right direction, since you are the best person out of anyone here to try to explain what's happening since you use a screen reader program as well. I just wonder still if they are not complying with disability laws and accessibility to websites for those persons who use screen reader software? I should ask at work when I get back on
1/3. It's amazing to me that no one thought about this stuff when they went to make changes...OMG
Thanks for helping Robin, we emailed a while too when she first had problems trying to figure it out.. I hope she back on here soon..
Happy New Year,
Robin in Maryland :)
