Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, just to let you know, Gail just posted this:

“physical orders of the CD will be sent out in advance of Feb. 10 so that they land in your hands for release date.” That's obviously if you've pre-ordered it from PledgeMusic, which I did, so woohoo! :D  Now, this was apparently shared on Michael’s Facebook page, so here’s the first available download on Itunes and PledgeMusic, which you can also hear on YouTube:

Hey Robin, well first, if you pre-ordered the CD and had access to the updates, the download is included with your package. You should have gotten an E-mail to tell you the download was available,  unless you’ve changed your E-mail address since you pre-ordered it. Sweetie, I posted the track listing below, on December 20 and yes, “as time goes by” is on it. Technically, the CD comes out on Feb 10, so I’m thinking they should be available at the show. I’ll send you the track list girl, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hey girl, Does it cost to download WAMLAW? Can you send me the list & the song in an email? That would be cool. I'll bet it's awesome. Is "As Time Goes By" on the CD? I wonder if they'll have the CD'S at the shows in February 10th&11th that I'm going to. Thanks for all info girl.

Hey everyone, for those who don't check the main page, it was finally announced yesterday that "Songs of cinema" is available to be pre-ordered from Amazon! I got the link from amazon.ca and was even able to read the track listing for a change. Now, for those who have already pre-ordered from PledgeMusic, you should have recieved  a link to the download of the new version of "When a man loves a woman" and I did! Michael sings it  about the way he sings it live now, with different music, but his voice sounds great as ever, so go download it now! That's the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, well it looks like I was right, thinking the Lonely Island had had an "Incredible thought" and the following article Sylvia shared, confirms that "Jack Sparrow" will be a ballad on "Songs of cinema"! Here's the article:

Michael Bolton to release his 27th album, Songs of Cinema a tribute to beloved songs from the world’s most iconic films on Febuarary 10, 2017 on the Frontiers Music Srl Label.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of the movies, says Bolton.”  “I love all the classics from Casablanca to The Wizard of Oz.” Most are familiar with Bolton’s feature in The Lonely Island Emmy-nominated viral video Jack Sparrow, but the ballad version created for this album will be a pleasant surprise.

Bolton has a track record of stepping up to render his own versions of classics, like Grammy-winning hit “When a Man Loves a Woman,” presented here with yet a new interpretation. As a singer, he has a unique passion and gift for exploring new repertoires, from rock and pop to R&B. And as a true artist, he always keeps pushing the boundaries across genres.

Netflix recently announced Bolton’s first special with the network Michael Bolton’s Big Sexy Valentine’s Day Special (premiering February 7, 2017) directed by Akiva Schaffer (The Lonely Island) and Scott Aukerman (Comedy Bang! Bang!), follows Michael Bolton as he creates a sexy variety special that serves one very important purpose: to get people in the mood to make love. In the midst of the special’s absurdist adventures, Bolton performs an array of love songs made up of both classic hits and all-new original love-making music. Special guests joining Bolton include Andy Samberg, Casey Wilson, Chris Parnell, Eric Andre, Jorma Taccone, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Michael Sheen, Randall Park and Sarah Silverman. Michael Bolton’s Big, Sexy Valentine’s Day Special is executive-produced by Michael Bolton, Christina Kline, David Jargowsky, Scott Aukerman and Akiva Schaffer.

Hi everyone, fresh off the presses, Gail posted this  about 40 minutes ago: the track list for "Songs of cinema"!

http://ew.com/music/2016/12/20/michael-bolton-songs-cinema-album/

Track list:

1.“When a Man Loves a Woman,” from When a Man Loves a Woman

2.“Stand by Me,” from Stand by Me

3.“I’ve Got a Woman,” from Ray

4.“I Will Always Love You (feat. Dolly Parton),” from The Bodyguard

5.“Old Time Rock and Roll,” from Risky Business

6.“I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” from The Big Chill

7.“Cupid,” from Michael Bolton’s Big Sexy Valentine’s Day Special

8.“Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” from The Wizard of Oz

9.“As Time Goes By,” from Casablanca

10.“Jack Sparrow,” from The Lonely Island SNL digital video short

Well, "Cupid" was a nice surprise and I guess it counts as a bonus track, because I'm not aware it's from a movie. The funny thing is that if you read the Entertainment Weekly article, it lists "Jack Sparrow" as a ballad! lol Not sure that qualifies as a ballad, but if anyone could make it work, it would be our Michael! lol As I was telling Gail, it's a good thing we have the track list before Christmas, in case we'd like to buy Susan Boyle's new CD for "Somewhere out there" or the "Pop star, never stop, never stopping" soundtrack for "Incredible thoughts", not to mention the "Fathers and daughters" soundtrack for both the theme song and "Close to you". :D That's the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi again everyone, here's another article Katia sent me about Michael's special:

Michael Bolton Made A Valentine’s Day Special With The Lonely Island UPROXX

Michael Bolton Made A ‘Sexy’ Valentine’s Day Special With The Lonely Island

By: Andrew Husband• 12.16.16

Netflix With new stand-up comedy specials by Late Late Show bandleader Reggie Watts and American Housewife star Ali Wong, Netflix released the most diverse array of comedy films in 2016. And with industry giants like Dave Chappelle lining up to do the same in 2017, the following year’s crop of new specials is bound to be even better. Case in point: Michael Bolton’s Big, Sexy Valentine’s Day Special, a new variety feature starring the titular singer and co-directed by Akiva Schaffer, who co-wrote and co-directed Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping with fellow The Lonely Island members Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. Yes, that’s right — The Lonely Island made a Valentine’s Day special with the guy who sang “How Can We Be Lovers?”

According to an official press release, Michael Bolton’s Big, Sexy Valentine’s Day Special will follow the pop star while he tries to create a variety show whose sole purpose to help people get it on. Punctuated by the kinds of “absurdist adventures” fans of Schaffer’s The Lonely Island trio and co-director Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang! Bang! know and love, Bolton will perform numerous love songs composed of his greatest hits, as well as some “all-new original love-making music” written just for the special. Along with Samberg and Taccone, guest stars Casey Wilson, Chris Parnell, Eric Andre, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Michael Sheen, Randall Park and Sarah Silverman will help Bolton out along the way.

Michael Bolton’s Big, Sexy Valentine’s Day Special will stream exclusively on Tuesday, February 7th on Netflix. Until then, you’ll just have to woo your Christmas cuddle buddy with “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” on an endless loop. It totally works! (No really, it does. Kind of.)
