Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, Sylvia found the Belarus concert Michael took part in a couple of days ago, which was televised. She says you have to skip ahead to about 2 hours 46 minutes in to hear Michael sing “When A Man Loves A Woman” and here it is:
That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

I have no desires to go to see the movie, myself. I'd only want Michael's part of the movie. I know someone else who even said they won't go to the movie. I don't want to be a downer but I just don't care for the song or "Jack Sparrow" that much; only Michael's parts of the songs. His parts are awesome. Thanks for all this girl.
Hi everyone, out of curiosity, I checked out the box office news on “Pop star” and this is an excerpt from the Variety web site:
“The weekend’s other new release, the music parody “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” collapsed at the box office, scraping together $4.6 million from 2,311 locations. Universal spent $21 million on the mockumentary, which stars Andy Samberg as a Justin Bieber-like music prodigy and reunites the comedian with his Lonely Island partners. The musicians are best known for their work on “Saturday Night Live,” where they composed such viral favorites as “Dick in a Box” and “I’m on a Boat.” The studio believes that “Popstar” could develop a cult following on home entertainment platforms, much as “This Is Spinal Tap” was embraced on video, in its day.
“Films like this can have a long tail through the revenue chains,” said Nick Carpou, Universal’s domestic distribution head. “The story’s not been told on ‘Popstar.'””

This next one is from the L.A. Times:
“Pop star”, the last of the week’s new releases, eked out an eighth-place finish with a disappointing $4.6 million. The R-rated comedy was projected to open to $7 million to $8 million.
“We’d love for there to be more gross,” said Nick Carpou, Universal’s president of domestic distribution. But he projects the picture will still be a success when considering other revenue streams outside of the theaters.
Starring Andy Samberg as a former boy band member who falls on hard times as a solo artist, “Popstar” is billed as a mock biopic in the tradition of “This is Spinal Tap” and “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.”
With history as a teacher, musical parodies have proved to be a difficult sell for a general audience, as is the case with this one. But it did overperform with its target audience, young males, who made up 60% of the moviegoing audience. The picture recieved a B Cinemascore and a respectable 78% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Looking at the Rotten Tomatoes “score” itself, this is both a critic-and-audience-pleasing movie,” Carpou said. “We’re optimistic about where this ultimately goes.”

So only time will tell. See it and make your own opinion.Incidentally, one of my friends saw it, thought it was hilarious and did confirm Michael only appears at the tail end of the movie. That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D
Hi everyone, I have a few tidbits about the movie “Pop star: never stop, never stopping”. First, an article Gail posted, which is mostly about Justin Timberlake, but it does mention Michael’s part in the movie:

The new movie from The Lonely Island, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, finds Andy Samberg as a high-maintenance popstar named Conner who has hordes of fans and an enabling entourage. The movie contains a ton of cameos from celebrities, some of whom play members of Conner's team. For example, Sarah Silverman is Conner's publicist, Tim Meadows is his manager, and Bill Hader is his roadie in charge of guitars (even though Conner doesn't play guitar). But one celeb cameo in Popstar that's a total surprise is that of a certain mega-famous NSYNC alum who appears as (spoiler!) Conner's personal chef. Justin Timberlake in Popstar is one of the funniest parts of the movie, both because it's so unexpected and because of the nature of the role. Basically, JT's character is super mild-mannered and has a markedly different vibe from the other 31 people on Conner's payroll. In the character's introduction, Timberlake wears full chef's whites and speaks in a soft high-pitched voice. He explains that Conner is a very picky eater but that it brings him genuine joy to prepare different cuisines for the popstar. He then shows eight different types of sliced carrots that he has arranged on a platter for the catering table. Eight. Clearly, the character is very committed to his post. JT pops up again here and there as the movie goes on. In one particular scene, he is off to the side of the room chopping away while Conner and his crew are on the couch watching video footage. JT starts quietly singing along with the song that's playing, at which point Conner yells at him to shut up and leave the singing to the professionals. It's a hilarious tongue-in-cheek moment simply because of the irony of one of most famous pop singers in real life being told that he can't sing. Timberlake's greatest moment, though, comes at the end of the movie. The grand finale of the film features a huge performance by Conner's band at the "Poppys," a parody of the Grammys. A few unexpected stars join onstage, including Michael Bolton and Usher. There is also a person on the stage in a furry mascot costume, who joins in the impassioned performance with an amazing solo. Everyone looks confused at the mystery performer, and then there's a quick cut to a confessional shot of Timberlake, who excitedly whispers, "It was me! I was in the suit!" It makes you want to cheer for the little guy that he finally got his moment on stage, although you also have the knowledge that Timberlake has in fact been on stage more times than most other people in the movie."

Clearly, the author of this article doesn’t know who Michael is... XD Next, here’s a link Sylvia posted, to a page where you can listen to samples of the soundtrack of “Pop star: never stop, never stopping”, including the 1 song “Inccredible thoughts featuring our Michael:

The soundtrack is available on Itunes and Amazon as a download. Now I know we’re not supposed to post links to videos or songs, but chances are the song will have been removed by the time anyone tries listening, but in the meantime:

I wish I could go to Lincoln CA but I can't. I think I know someone who's going.
Hi everyone, Sylvia just picked this link up on Twitter:
https://experiences.offerpop.com/campaign/?experience=574dd82923847...
It’s apparently a contest to win tickets to Michael's show at Thunder Valley Casino, Lincoln, CA on June 10th. I hope anyone who has access can enter so break a leg! That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D
Thanks girl
Hi Robin, I've searched for the soundtrack but haven't found it yet. Andy Samberg said in an interview that it would "drop" at the same time as the movie, so I'll keep an ear out. It will technically be a Lonely Island album, so no mention of a collaboration with Michael yet. I'll keep you posted. Take care girl. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie :D
