Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Sylvie, thanks ever so much for Michael's interview. See how respectful he is? Hey, we all use bad language perhaps but wow! He respects his listeners&fans. I'm not sure how I feel about the movie or the sound track. I'm not a whole lot for the song "Jack Sparrow" myself. Their voices in the song creep me out. EW!!!! Sorry but JMO here. I don't know how many folks read your little blog here but I don't know. I have to hear the soundtrack myself. I just don't like rap. Sorry but I don't. I know Michael's in the song & I love his part but.....wow! Wonder what the beginning of the soung was all about him saying it was disgusting. Heck, I'm not prude here but really? Is that language necessary. Oh! well! Now that I got that off my chest. :) Take care.
All right, this is the last one that dates from 2 days ago, so I'm already doing better. As we had been suspecting for a while, Michael will be part of the cast of the new Lonely Island movie, most likely doing a cameo, along with several other celebrities. Here is the article:

Former collaborator Michael Bolton, who appears in the film, praises the Andy Samberg group's dual mastery of music and film. Through their digital shorts on Saturday Night Live and collaborations with various musicians and stars, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer’s The Lonely Island have established themselves as masters of modern music parody. It comes as no surprise then, that for what Samberg calls the group’s first movie from the ground up, the trio have expanded upon that notion, creating Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. “It was very intentional, to do something we could incorporate music into. That was the whole idea,” Samberg told The Hollywood Reporter at the film’s New York premiere on Tuesday night. “We wanted to make a musical,” Schaffer added, “We had a few ideas we were bandying about. And then Judd [Apatow] really basically pitched this idea to us out of nowhere and we were like ‘We’ve been talking about that too!’ and that really set us on this track.” Popstar takes the form of a mockumentary, following Samberg’s Connor4Real as he navigates the treacheries of pop stardom. Taccone and Schaffer play his childhood friends and former bandmates, with Sarah Silverman, Maya Rudolph, Tim Meadows and more filling out the team that surrounds and supports Connor. But even though Popstar is a mockumentary, Taccone, who also directed the film with Schaffer, explains that the team behind the movie still tried to have the music be authentic, one thing it shares with previous films in the genre like Spinal Tap and Walk Hard. “It’s not necessarily that we’re referencing those, but I would say that a similarity between that movie and movies like Spinal Tap are that there’s a real attention to detail of the songs sounding correct and there’s a real attention to detail paid,” he said. “I’m not comparing ourselves to any of those movies. Spinal Tap is the gold standard of those movies, of this format, but we really care about the music sounding good in the same way.” To that end, Popstar showcases the group’s mind for music as much as the band members' comedy chops. Whether Connor is flourishing or flailing, he’s always equipped with a catchy ear worm every bit as sonically polished as it absurd. Michael Bolton, who collaborated with the trio on the 2011 digital short Jack Sparrow and likewise appears in the film, can’t explain The Lonely Island's dual mastery, but he’s astonished by it. “It’s a very strange high level of awareness of notes and timing and different genres of music. They’re obviously very, very current, or as current as they need to be but they know how to stack backgrounds,” Bolton said. “I’m not easily impressed by musicians, I gotta see what they do, but these guys heard all the harmony parts.” He continued, “I don’t know where they get that mutant gene where it’s both music and film, where they know exactly what they need to make this great outcome, but that’s what their gift is.” Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping hits theaters on June 3, with the soundtrack set to be released the same day. Beyond what the film does at the box office, is The Lonely Island preparing for a hit on the Billboard charts? “100% yes,” Samberg said. “We always expect to go number one. We’re aiming for the new [Justin] Timberlake. The Trolls song, ['Can't Stop the Feeling'].”

Hi again everyone, this is the second article: a review of the RAH:
Review: Michael Bolton & Gabrielle at London’s Royal Albert Hall - Gay Times
Review: Michael Bolton & Gabrielle at London’s Royal Albert Hall

Culture > Music
“The most beautiful venue in the world.”
Whenever a performer says “I love performing in (insert city name)” chances are they’re just saying it to elicit a cheer from the crowd. It usually works. But when a performer says “I love performing in the Royal Albert Hall, it’s the most beautiful venue in the world” – well, looking around, it’s easy to see where Michael’s coming from. Even with tonight’s minimalist set, London’s most iconic venue looks resplendent and has wonderful acoustics which perfectly compliment this evening’s performances.
First up is Gabrielle, who burst on to the scene some 23 years ago – yes, really – with her smash hit Dreams. A charismatic and charmingly honest performer, the between-song chatter is minimal but amusing and endearing. She’s in fine voice too this evening, ably coping with all the high and low notes, serenading the crowd with her effortlessly soulful tones. Even with a stripped-back ensemble – just guitar, keyboard, percussion and backing vocals – these songs have no problem filling the vast hall.
All the hits are present and correct – from the opener When a Woman through Out of Reach, Give Me a Little More Time, Sunshine, Rise, and closing with the inevitable Dreams; it’s a feel-good, entertaining, fan-pleasing set which is well received by the appreciative audience.
On to the main event and Michael receives a rapturous response as he takes the stage. What’s immediately apparent is that he is quite the seasoned professional; a household name for three decades, the Grammy-award winning singer songwriter is so slick we imagine he could probably do this in his sleep. He has an incredibly laid back, casual stage routine and surprisingly conversational tone with his audience.
Tonight’s show is a veritable melting pot – old and new, self-penned and covers, pop and classical – there’s something for everyone. Michael’s vocals never cease to impress – with an extensive range, and most notably an outstanding clarity and dexterity in the higher register, he receives several well-deserved standing ovations.
There are numerous highlights. He performs a handful of duets – mostly with one of his talented backing vocalists, but the biggest cheers are reserved for his cover of Make You Feel My Love, during which Gabrielle reappears on stage. It’s a gorgeous, delicate moment, the audience enjoying in silent appreciation. His renditions of When a Man Loves a Woman and Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay result in slightly-crazed adulation and mass singalongs; performances of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and How Can We Be Lovers gets the audience on their feet.
It’s all very polished and professional. One criticism, however, is that Michael isn’t on stage for all that long. The headline set including encore lasts only 90 minutes, which includes two costume changes and numerous instrumental interludes. There’s an instrumental introduction and one of his backing vocalists sings an entire song. While his band is impressive, and the various guitar/sax/bass solos are entertaining enough, Michael’s the real star of the show, and it’s a bit disappointing he spends such a significant amount of time off-stage.
It’s certainly not enough to spoil proceedings – there’s plenty here to enjoy and we had a great time. But when the lights came up and the crowd were shouting for more, perhaps they were justified in feeling slightly short changed.
GT gives Michael Bolton and Gabrielle at London’s Royal Albert Hall 4/5
Michael’s UK tour has concluded; he tours the USA through May and June. Gabrielle will announce new shows soon via her Twitter account at twitter.com/gabrielleuk

At least, this is good news for Michael and maybe, someone should take a hint that we want him more in Canada! :D Be right back with more news. Sylvie :D
Girl, I know. There's a couple shows in CA I can't make it too. I was thinking BC Canada. I know one thing girl, if I were still in Baltimore, I'd go to Charlotte NC. I'd get to see Karen Day.
Hi Robin, no girl, BC is on the West Coast girl. You know the deal: if Michael does only one visit per year in Canada, it's either in BC or ubiquitous Ontario. It used to be Casino Rama, but he seems to have adopted the Fallsview Casino in the past couple of years. Anyway, it's BC for now, so you never know. I'll just light a few candles... ;D Take care Robin. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie xxxxx
Oh, ok. It's in Canada somewhere. Are you able to go? I'd love it if you could.
Sylvie, I think I'm doing this right. Where is this concert you're referring to in this article? I may need to re-read this. I won't be going. Cool Michael's gonna be in Charlotte, NC.

THE SHOWBIZ LION: MICHAEL BOLTON GOES DOWN A BOMB IN GLASGOW

MICHAEL BOLTON GOES DOWN A BOMB IN GLASGOW
MICHAEL Bolton arrived in Glasgow and proved he was dynamite with his personalised plate. The singer is due to play The Glasgow Clyde Auditorium tonight and made sure he arrived extra early to take in the city before his big date.
Michael arrived at the Blytheswood hotel in style - in what appeared to be his own German plated chauffeur driven Mercedes car with the private plate BoMB.
He stopped to say hello to The Showbiz Lion saying he was thrilled to be back in Glasgow and later paid tribute to Prince saying: "The true Visionary. Honored to have known him. The world will hold him in highest esteem next to anyone in the history of Music." Grammy award winner Michael has been getting rave reviews for his tour which will see him sing hits like How Am I Supposed To Live Without You as well as covers including Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life and Otis Redding’s classic Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay.
