Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, Sylvia just informed us that via a post, both on Twitter and Facebook, Michael confirmed that he'll duet with the Eagles' Joe Walsh on Bob Seger's "Old time rock and roll" on the new album! He also posted a picture of himself with Joe and Walter Afanasieff. That's the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, I’ve put together all the pertinent links pertaining to the event Michael was a part of on Wednesday the 16th at the United Nations. First, a short article and link:

American singer Michael Bolton has conquered audiences worldwide with his powerful ballads and heartfelt love songs.

The man with the soulful sound is now using his voice to support the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) in its work to end harmful practices against women and girls, such as Female Genital Mutilation and child marriage.

Dianne Penn spoke to the multiple Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter ahead of his performance at an event in the UN General Assembly Hall on Wednesday evening.

She found out that Michael Bolton is no stranger to the UN or to fighting for social justice.

There is a 4:42 minute video on the page, you just need to scroll down and click on “Listen”.

Hi everyone, this is an article Gail posted a couple of days ago, but I'd forgotten to post.

Michael Bolton Backs Bill Banning Ivory Sales

Daniela Altimari

4:24 pm, March 9, 2016

Singer Michael Bolton, a longtime vegetarian and animal rights activist, is weighing in on a bill that would ban the sale and trade of ivory and rhinoceros horn.

Bolton, who was born in New Haven, issued the following statement about House Bill 5578 on the Humane Society's Twitter feed: “As a Connecticut native, I am proud to support a ban on ivory sales. Please support HB 5578.”

Other animal rights activists also back the measure, which will be the subject of a hearing before the legislature's environment committee on Friday. Federal law already restricts ivory in the U.S. but supporters say the patchwork of policies is riddled with loopholes that dealers can exploit.

"The threat of extinction facing elephants grows daily while poachers and traffickers continue their slaughter and despicable activities unabated,'' former state Rep. Annie Hornish, who is now the Connecticut director of the Humane Society of the United States, wrote in a letter submitted to the environment committee.

"The time for a prohibition on the U.S. domestic ivory markets is now and Connecticut can contribute to the federal, national, and global conservation efforts by closing Connecticut’s markets to ivory and rhino horns,'' stated the letter, which was also signed by Iris Ho,

wildlife program manager for the Humane Society International.

But some antiques dealers are critical of the bill, saying it would do nothing to improve the plight of endangered animals.

"In my opinion, the proposed ban on ivory in Connecticut will take a devastating economic impact on a large number of honest and knowledgeable dealers, jewelers, auctioneers, museums [and] educational institutions...who reputably inherit, buy and sell genuine ivory antiques from many cultures,'' said David Schorsch, an antiques dealer from Middlebury. "The idea of eliminating a market for genuine ivory antiques will somehow save living elephants is a flawed and illogical concept."

A similar bill was raised last year but it failed to pass.

Hi everyone, this is something my friend Katia shared with me. It’s a Periscope video, shared on Twitter by Eric  Dawkins which I personally don’t have access to, but some people have had access in the past, even after the video was done, so hope you all do.

It’s entitled “Eric dawkins: in the lab with my friend Michael Bolton”, which I think may have a link to the latest "Training" admin blog. That's the news for now. Thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Which upcoming Biloxi casino headliner is most likely to bring up the subject of the Oscars? Probably Michael Bolton, who's at work on a collection of movie music.

Bolton appears Friday, March 4, at Beau Rivage. The same evening brings classic rock act Kansas to Hard Rock Biloxi. On Saturday, March 5, songwriter and poet Jewel takes the stage at IP Casino, Resort & Spa.

Back in summer 2015, Bolton invited his fan base to weigh in on the concept, title and song selections of his next project. Via a drive at www.pledgemusic.com, supporters can pre-order the collection in various formats, offer input on the process and receive updates.  According to a story in People magazine, Bolton said, "Hopefully, it will challenge and inspire you as much as it does me, and I can't wait to see what we create together!"  Based on interaction with fans, Bolton decided to do a collection of songs associated with movies. More recently he announced the title will be "Songs of Cinema," and that featured tracks will include "Moon River," "As Time Goes By," a duet on "I Will Always Love You" with Dolly Parton, "Over the Rainbow," "Stand By Me" and "I Heard it Through the Grapevine," the last based on its use in the movie "The Big Chill." Other acts of note visiting Gulf Coast Casinos in March: Chaka Khan, Rodney Carrington, Aaron Lewis, Frankie Valli, Clay Walker and D.L. Hughley.

A performance by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Michael Bolton — he of the big voice — highlighted the 58th annual Palm Beach gala for the American Cancer Society.

Rock Palm Beach took place Feb. 5 at The Mar-a-Lago Club.

Lori Stoll and Shelley Menin were chairwomen for the evening and greeted guests as they arrived for the champagne reception in Mrs. Post’s Ballroom.

After the bubbly, the crowd moved to the Grand Ballroom — decorated with vintage record-album centerpieces and electric guitars — for dinner and Bolton’s performance.

The evening continued with a live auction of luxury items, including a Les Paul guitar, and dancing.

Patrick Park was honorary chairman, with Kitty Silverstein serving as vice chairwoman. Jesse Stoll was junior chairman.

Proceeds from the event, more than $400,000, support the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives and reducing the incidence of cancer through research, education and advocacy.
