Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, here’s something that’s apparently the latest Twitter buzz, according to Sylvia. First, a YouTube video of a pair of Mariah Carey fans commenting on Mariah’s directorial debut that ends with a short segment of Michael and Mariah Carey singing "We're Not Making Love Anymore" at the NARM Music Convention on 3 November, 1990. I’m not sure how long it is, but I haven’t been able to get to the duet, listening for a few minutes. I’ll probably try again with available eyes. Here it is:

https://youtu.be/VzQEjsQYcCo

Now, here is a SoundCloud page where someone posted the actual clip of the song:

I have an outdated browser so haven’t been able to listen, but I do hope you enjoy. That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :P

Hi everyone, for those not getting alerts from admin, know that Michael is scheduled to be doing a Q&A on PledgeMusic tomorrow at noon EST. It's my understanding that he's supposed to divulge a few song titles and a duet partner for the new CD. I've personally gathered 8 titles Michael has either mentioned in interviews or on the updates on PledgeMusic. I'll let you know if I learn anything new. Your best bet is to check it out yourself. That's the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, Sylvia just confirmed that Michael’s American Greetings paper card is available for purchase, only in the U.S.:

I can’t say I’m surprised it’s not available in Canada. In any case, enjoy for those who can and get creative to the rest! :D That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi Robin, always good to read you on here sweetie. I'm just glad you can keep an ear on things at least. Gloria has seen the cards in other stores, but if you go to customer service, they can at least tell you whether they have them, or will have them in stock. They might also be in the process of stocking them. Kathy T hasn't found them in her stores yet. In any case, break a leg girl! Take care girlfriend and I'll look forward to hear from you, God bless. Big hugs, sincerely, your friend Sylvie xxxxxxx

That's cool you heard from American Greetings. I guess I'm gonna have to order through them. Elaine & I went to Target & there weren't any. Perhaps if I go to the one near Bari, I could get customer service to help me there. I have many of your comments here & other places. I will get to them soon. I'm on Bari's laptop&she sold it to me which is cool since she got an iPad. Long story. Stuff going on. :)

Hi everyone, I wrote to the American Greetings company to find out whether Michael's  musical paper cards would be available in Canada and this is the reply I got:

:Thank you for contacting the American Greetings Corporation.

I haven’t checked out the page, but since I mentioned I was from Canada, hopefully, this means it will be available outside the U.S.. If I can take the time, I’ll ask when  it’s supposed to be available for purchase.  That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, here's an article Sylvia shared. Michael gave this interview on Dec 11, just before his show in NJ. Some of the Q&A's seem copy/pasted, but there are a couple of items of interest:

Grammy Award winning vocalist Michael Bolton will take the stage at The Golden Nugget Atlantic City on December 12th with his greatest hits that include holiday favorites. We chatted about everything from his Pizza Hut commercials to his new album. Check it out:

EXPLORE NJ:  What can fans expect during your Golden Nugget performance?

BOLTON: I’m always conscious that my life long fans are coming to hear the Greatest Hits. I often get messages and letters about certain songs that marked important moments in their lives and so they are coming to celebrate those experiences. I also like to introduce my audience to new genres and musical guests. The repertoire is always evolving. I like to make the concert into a real musical journey and tell stories along the way. The audience likes to chime in, we joke around and we always have a lot of fun together. There are several fan favorites that strike a chord with different experiences or feelings – like with How Can We Be Lovers or Time Love & Tenderness – those songs really get people revved up, while songs like Said I Loved You or How Am I Supposed to Live Without You get them quiet and more emotional. But I think a big crowd pleaser is still When a Man Loves A Woman because the way we position it comes as a special surprise during the show.

ENJ: Welcome back to Atlantic City, besides performing, what are you most looking forward to doing while in town?

BOLTON: Honestly, it’s proximity to my home in Connecticut means that I get to sleep in my own bed! But I also have a lot of great friends and fans in that area and I always love seeing them and catching up.

ENJ: Your Pizza Hut commercials are great, what’s your favorite pizza choice? Any fun behind the scenes stories?

BOLTON: I can’t remember the last time I ordered pizza but it would have to be cheese since I’m a vegetarian. The cast and crew on the commercial shoot were so much fun to work with, especially the director Chris Applebaum. I hope to do more with him in the future. The only real behind the scenes story I heard about happened before I arrived to set, and that had to do with the reindeer. I’m sworn to secrecy.

ENJ: Tell us about your 2016 UK tour? And your studio album?

BOLTON: I’m thrilled to be returning to the UK for another tour next April and by then I will be ready to preview a few songs from the new album. We haven’t recorded all of the songs for the album yet but the concept is the most beloved songs from the most iconic movies of all time. I’m actually using the Pledge Music platform to source ideas from my fans and they’ve offered up some great suggestions so far, like Stand By Me, Heard it Through the Grapevine, and I Will Always Love You.

ENJ: You used Facebook to get input from fans, how did that work for you and do you feel that social media has changed the dynamic for music artists of today?

BOLTON: Social media is an incredible tool for artists. I feel like I know my fans so much better and it’s also an opportunity for me to personally share information with them and thank them for their support. It’s been a great way for me to expand my audience as well, which started with the Jack Sparrow video that’s now over 140 million YouTube views.

ENJ: Any future collaborations that we can look forward to? And who would you love to collaborate with?

BOLTON: One of the songs on the new album, I Will Always Love You, from The BodyGuard, features a very special guest duet. I cannot wait to share it with everyone, it’s like a dream come true. I also have a few other special guests in mind for the new album. There are so many artists I’d love to collaborate with from Adele to Rihanna to Sam Smith. There is a lot of great new talent.

ENJ: What’s something fun that we don’t know about you? Any hidden talents?

BOLTON: Have you heard my Woody Allen impression?

ENJ: Would you ever consider a Blackjack reunion?

BOLTON: That question keeps coming up! I think Bruce Kulick would be up for it. It would definitely be a wild ride.

ENJ: What was it like to make a song with Lonely Island on SNL?

BOLTON: The filming of Jack Sparrow was one of the most fun experiences of my life. Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone are some of the most brilliant collaborators I’ve ever witnessed. Two 16 hour days in New York city, and they practically shot a movie. The only delays we ever had were to stop in our tracks laughing so hard. We actually just collaborated on a new project that I can’t wait to reveal.

ENJ: A few fans wanted to know your first thoughts when they use your name for a character in the movie Office Space?

BOLTON: I’m a big  fan of Mike Judge and thought the movie was very funny. It also is quite complimentary to me since the Bobs are fans and celebrate my entire catalog! It was a blast shooting those scenes with Funny or Die recently but with me playing the character. You should check out the skit online if you haven’t seen it yet!

Hi everyone, Sylvia just posted the following:

Here is a periscope video from show at Golden Nugget last night which Golden Nugget have themselves recorded and put out.  Although it says recording has ended click on play and it will come up and although view is not too clear, sound is terrific and it is nearly 1/2 hour long......it is wonderful !!! :)

The Periscope videos never work for me, possibly because I’m using an old browser, but have fun to whoever can watch/listen to it! That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, Sylvia just posted this radio interview that Michael recorded back in October, while he was in the U.K., but aired yesterday. Note that you only have 29 days to listen and yes, it does play outside the U.K., but hurry up not to miss: it’s a fabulous interview!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06rymzr

It’s the first in a multi-artist series called “The art of artist” and is basically a retrospective of his career, but you get these lovely jewels of insight where Michael is just marveling in the process and love of music that just get me teary-eyed every time. So hurry up, enjoy and save if you can. That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, apparently, Michael has an actual physical American Greetings card, spotted in a store in Ohio, according to a tweet Michael sent. I hope they're up here in Canada too! Good luck to everyone finding it. That's the news  for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D
