It was just brought to my attention that some of my fans in attendance at the Dublin show were told that, at my request, they could not take photos or video during my performance on Thursday. This news was extremely upsetting to me and I want to clarify that I always allow pics by the fans and there will never be a time when I restrict them as I know how much it adds to the experience of enjoying the evening. There are performances where venue management will ask audience members not to take pics, but if anyone at those venues ever represents that I personally (or anyone on my behalf) has not allowed the photography that is a blatant untruth. Even in venues where I know this is the policy, when I see a fan taking a shot using their phone or a camera I will smile and pose, as again, I think it adds to their enjoyment of the experience.

The Dublin show was one of my favorites of the last 90 I've done. I loved the theater and the audience, which was fantastic and sang to me all night. My position has and will always be that the fans have paid and waited to come see me and if they want to take pics with cameras or their phones that's absolutely fine with me. I encourage them to do so and post their faves, here or anywhere else that they like. This has always been the case and will not change!!

I agree with Mariu 100%, we know it is not your fault and you do not need to apoligize for someone elses behavior. There are some venues that tell us to not take pictures but we usualy do it anyways. Thank you for posting, we love you, be sae in your travels, have fun and see you soon. Love, shannon xoxo

Thanks Michael for your comments on the pictures!! I always love to try and take alot of pictures at the concerts (as alot of them don't come out too good!) then I try to post some from each show, even the ones that the venue says "Mr. Bolton wants no pictures during the concert!". I just say "sure" and try to snap away without a flash.... I have been going to your concerts since 1990 and seems over the years you have never minded pictures! so I figured it wasn't you saying that! You even caught me a couple of times off guard recently and ask it they turned out ok (Branson and Atlanta!) and you even stopped long enough to pose, THANK YOU for that!! It is always great to have those memories.!! I do admit to taking a few videos recently and I did post them here for us all to enjoy, I am glad to hear you really don't mind that either.. Looking forward to seeing you again next year..Kerie

Go Michael!!! This is one of the many things we love about you! Thanks for sticking up for us fans :-) Fortunately at the show I attended picture taking was not discouraged! Dancing on the other hand..... :-) Thanks for all the great poses and smiles over the years...they just magnify your incredible voice.

I know fully well that at some VENUES cameras are not allowed...It has been way too long since I have been to a concert, but I know there were times when people were told they couldn't take pictures..only to see the flashes going off all over the place from other cameras! I should add this this was not MY experience, but that of people we were sitting near. It seems to me that, if you as the artist, find photographs distracting...or for whatever reason,,prefers that no pictures be taken, that is fine. But I don't understand why venues get to make that call. At any rate, I think it is so great of you to speak out, and I feel pretty confident that NO ONE ever blamed YOU. regardless of what they were told. Security people are notorious, which is actually a good thing as long as they are thinking of your comfort and safety, and not just throwing their weight around.

Dear Michael, thank you so much for posting this. It means a lot to us that you’re so attentive to what we want and that you care that we enjoy the full experience of your concerts. God bless you sweetie, maybe we should have this post printed on T-shirts! Lol Judging from your statement, you could have read any random page on our concert review thread and know this to be true. So glad to hear the Dublin show was so special to you… I personally think that the powers that be have to realize that the excitement fans feel taking these pics and videos is communicated to others and is great publicity for the artists. Plus it’s a wonderful way to include fans who aren’t as fortunate, to join in the fun vicariously through what’s being shared. Just my opinion. Again, thank you so much for posting this Michael, take care and God bless. With much love and appreciation, big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
