International Talk Like A Pirate Day!!!

Ahoy Matties!!

 

I posted this on Facebook, but wanted to mention this here too, for people like Sylvie who are not on FB!!  September 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which is a silly fun day for people to pretend they are Pirates!!!  There is a website Talklikeapirate.com that you can look at and have a few laughs!!  I'm going to wear my skull necklace (maybe my earrings too) and I have a skull shirt that I will wear if it's not too cool that day.  So thought I would let you all know, also on account of all the excitement over the Jack Sparrow video that is still going strong!!  So take out that bottle of rum, put on some Bolton Music and shake those pirate booties!!!   :)

Hiya Helena, or should I say yo ho ho! :D Wish I could participate in such a momentous  day but I'm not fluent in Pirate-talk! Well, maybe I'll just practice by reborrowing the 3 POTC movies for a marathon! lol Now wait, I do have a pirate movie... Helena, have you ever seen the movie "The pirate movie" with Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol? It was based on "The pirates of Penzance" and it was extremely nutty but fun! Ah man I'm old! lol My eldest son actually enjoyed it when I showed it to him on DVD, I'm just glad I found it! All right sweetams, I'm out. Write soon, I miss you! :D Take care. Hi Sylvie....thanks for the link....looks like a cute and corny type of film....LOL!!!!   Boy, Chris Atkins was a real cutie back then!!  And I liked Krisite on some of the TV shows from years ago....both good actors.

In an effort to keep our favorite pirate at the top of your thoughts, I wanted to share with you that Hallmark card stores are featuring a Captain Jack Sparrow ornament for your Christmas tree this year!  If you are an ornament collector or just a fan of pirates, there is nothing better to add to your holiday decorations this year!  The Hallmark big ornament kick-off weekend is October 8th and 9th, but I think you would be able to find it in stores now.  It will retail for $14.95.  I'm sure they will sell out fast!  Don't put this off!  LOL!

(No - I don't work for Hallmark!)  But I am a fan of a certain pirate!

Hi Diane,

 

I did see the Captain Jack ornament at my local Hallmark store and it's really cute!!  However, I have a small "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree" for my apartment and the ornament is too big....LOL!!! 

They are also selling lots of Pirate costumes for Halloween this year, which is really cool!!!  Wish I was invited to a Halloween party!!!  If Michael was having a concert here in New York during the month of October, I would wear a Pirate hat to the concert...LOL!!!!   :)

HI DIANE!  I ALSO SAW THE CAPTAIN JACK ORNAMENT AT MY LOCAL HALLMARK STORE   I HAVE A SMALL TREE AND THE ORNAMENT IS TOO BIG  I MAY BUY ONE FOR MY NEPHEWS  MY BROTHER HAS A LARGE TREE  MY YOUNGEST NEPHEW LOVES PIRATES

Hey Diane, thanks so much for letting us know! I have a bunch of Hallmark ornaments that I put all over my house! I do put some in my tree and I have a fairly big tree, but some of those are seriously too heavy to put in trees.
