Hey Sylvia, wow, what a beautifully clear voice, thanks for sharing it! Oh how I love the song “Bring him home”! Now here’s your link:

May I ask where you found this guy? I’ve never heard of him before. I scrolled down to check on more suggestions from this guy and stumbled upon my absolute favourite version of this song by Mr Michael Crawford:

The emotion that man puts into it  is just unreal... Well, hope you enjoy it. Now as far as your rambling goes, I love how you are self-aware and make no buts about it my wee friend... ;D Take good care of yourself my friend and thanks again for sharing. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia,

I think it was both of us rambling that made Anna start an off topic thread on Orrins website! lol

Thanks to the link Sylvie found ... thank you once more, Sylvie ... I've just listened to Ingvar Estrada's version of 'Bring Him Home' .... what an amazing voice and such a beautiful song!! :)

I've no idea where you all manage to find such amazing Artists but I'm glad you shared them on here, thank you :)

Before I shut up properly, Mary I read your comment about 'Sitting on the Dock of the Bay' ... Michael sings it brilliantly, does it the justice it deserves and then some! The first time I heard Michael sing it live I'll never, ever forget :)

hugs from me,

Hi Sylvie,

Thanks for the link, it works fine and when I get time I'll have a read through, should be interesting!

First off Rod Stewart, he didn't mention a specific  song, sorry for the confusion there.  I can't even remember what the interviewer's question was but I remember him laughing and saying yes, there were some songs he shouldn't have 'done' ... but I'm going by memory here. If I hadn't heard his rendition of 'Waltzing Matilda' I wouldn't have believed it. I can't find the CD I heard it on right now, but for me, personally, this is one of those songs. Fortunately, there are so many others I love and just having listened to 'I'll Stand By You' he does do it justice, thanks for that Sylvie :)

Now to Michael, oh no it doesn't surprise me your favourite's 'Ain't No Sunshine', but mine has to be 'Like A Rolling Stone'.

You mentioned 'Pride' - there are so many songs of Michael's I've not heard but I managed to find this one on Youtube, just listening to it now by the way, and he really does sing it well ... another one I thoroughly enjoyed!! lol Thank you again, Sylvie :)

Speculate away Sylvie, I've only listened to a tiny portion of John Mayer but yes, I hope Michael does do a collaboration.  Has there been any mention of Michael doing a blues album? The reason I'm asking is because I've not managed to go through all the discussions on here.

By the way, in case anyone reading this enjoys Rod Stewart's version of Waltzing Matilda, I hope I haven't offended.

Sending you hugs,

di xxx

Catching up this morning and getting ready for tonight.....have you seen the latest in the 2GB post about Michael's radio interview Diane that it looks as though he is doing the Breakfast Show with Alan Jones on Monday morning so we will hear it tonight for it looks as though it is the time zones they have got mixed up with - pretty good for us if it works out for we have the best time of the lot !! :)

On Ingvar Estrada Sylvie, how I found him was he found me for I have a Video Channel on youtube which I started in 2010 but I had never uploaded any videos - all I had done was subscribed to Michael's Channel and put in a friends request to him which was accepted - but with the video of Michael singing "Forever Eyes" having been taken off of youtube I decided to make my own video of it plus I had a few videos from my holiday in London and so I decided to download them to my Channel and low and behold when I went in there was a request for "friendship" from Ingvar and he had put it in June but needless to say I clicked on his to find out more about him and as they say the rest is history and just to add I accepted him as a friend and have subsequently put in a friendship request to him apart from subscribing to his Channel as well as joining his website...3-in-1 !! :)

Also too can I advertise and say I can be found on youtube.com/user/doughty65 if accessed from Google but if you go into music youtube just look for doughty65 and you will find my little Channel and yesterday too I uploaded another video I did and it was one of Orrin singing "Don't Let The Last Word Be Goodbye" and I put it out on Facebook and it got a good reaction - thanks again Anna for your kind words and Kathy for sharing -  just wish I had decided or thought about doing sooner because I have used the poster of Orrin's which advertises the CD "Liv'n Like A Man" to try and get information out about it and I suppose, as they say, better late than never....I would love to do a whole load more but I think I had better leave it at the one for I am infringing copyright left, right and centre and I have to hope Orrin appreciates and realizes it was my way of "subtle" advertising; yeah, in like a ton of bricks, and doesn't sue me but, at the same time, everybody does it with their own videos of songs except I don't suppose they do use posters advertising a CD - och well he can ask me to remove it if he doesn't like it !!!!! :)

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friend.

Hey Sylvia, thanks for the info about Ingvar Estrada and thanks a lot for letting us know about your YouTube channel. I haven’t been able to tie down my son long enough to check your videos on Facebook so I’ll be able to do it myself now! :D Oh Sylvia, thanks a lot for the publicity for Orrin! “Don’t let the last word be goodbye” seems to be the song most people are drawn to, so hopefully, the word will get around, thanks! I wonder if Orrin would have accepted to have a string of samples put up instead...  I guess you’ll find out soon enough. Well as I’ve said, it’s free publicity. All right sweetie, I’ll let you go so you can get started on that eggplant parmesan for your candlelit supper! ;D Take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Diane, you’re very welcome for the links, I hope you enjoy the thread.  The song “Bring him home” is part of the musical “Les miserables”, which is full of gorgeous songs like “I dreamed a dream”, “Empty chairs at empty tables” and my favourite “On my own”:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWoTYJqZkpI

They’re some of the most beautiful but sad songs you’ve ever heard... Too bad I couldn’t find the Michael Crawford version of that one on YouTube though... Oh Diane, to answer your question, I found Michael Crawford thanks to our Michael! I had joined the MBPlatinum club too late to find out about the ALW tour in 2000, but my friend Robin  showed me on tape Michael Crawford’s versions of the songs that our Michael had sung and I ended up discovering “Phantom of the opera” and ended up starting a big Michael Crawford collection. I’m just a big music fan and our Michael had me discover so muchmore than I ever expected and I’ll always be greatful to him for that. Oh Diane, out of curiosity, can you remember what year you first heard Michael live? Just curious. Now about Rod, I thought it would be strange to mention a specific song because that’s kind of like saying: don’t buy it! Lol Oh I’m glad you like “I’ll stand by you”, I really love this song but was looking for a version I’d enjoy more than the Pretenders one. OMG Diane, that means you haven’t bought “Gems” yet?! “Pride” is on there... Now about the blues album, Michael has been hinting at it for a very long time. Well, as you may or may not know, he sang “Rock me baby” with B.B. King in ‘98 and started singing it in concert in ‘02. He told a friend of mine in ’03 that he was planning a blues album in the future during that FYE CD signing tour, than he told another fan in ’08 I believe that he had already recorded “Rock me baby” for the said album and finally, guitarist Michael Thompson mentionned on his site that he had recorded  RMB with Michael for the said blues album in ’07. Then again, in 2000, Michael said in interviews that he wanted to do a Broadway album in the future but we’re still waiting so who knows... I think Michael won’t have enough of 3 lifetimes to do everything he wants to do professionally and personally... Wow, talk about rambling! Lol Sorry for the long post. Take care Diane. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvie and Sylvia,

I've got Australian radio on at the moment - so it appears I do listen to the radio! lol   Anyway I'm trying to multi-task so if this makes no sense, that's why.

Sylvie, yes I've got Gems, a signed copy as well as another I ordered, but I've had a lot happening so I've not had the time to sit down and just relax and listen. I'm going to listen to Pride in a moment, I don't think MB will be on the radio just yet.

Sylvia, I've heard Forever Eyes but I've no idea where. I've not got a copy of it, but then there are a lot of MB's music I haven't got.  I've been on your site, it's brilliant!!  Lovely to see Orrin 'officially' out there. If anyone mentions copywright just say you're suffering from Bolton Fever ;) There's a lot of it about! lol

Back in a min!

hugs, di xxx

Thanks Diane and glad you liked my site and hope that you managed to get right in to the actual Channel and see my sculpture of the Kiss....what a naughty girl, bare bums on youtube - what next !!! LOL.  The song "Forever Eyes" was the B side for HASTLWY and I have it on a 12" vynl that contains Dock of the Bay as well....I found it on e-Bay and I had a 45 so my pal in Brooklyn didn't have it so I sent her that one but I think it has never been put on an album on a CD, not as far as know but I did see it for dowload as an MP3 somewhere, and quite recently too, and I think it was on Spotify that I saw it but I wouldn't be surprised if it was available on iTunes as well - hope you find it !!! :)

Just about twenty minutes to go to really start listening to this channel and it is fantastic to think that you are so connected to Australia - it sounds as though it is coming from the round the corner for it is clearer than old Radio Scotland used to be in Scotland - it will be good to hear him because the picture that is over in FB taken yesterday as he arrived at the airport he looks great - am going to go onto the photo thread just now and put it up on there !!

Sylvia.  Your wee Scottish friend.

You're so right Sylvia, it's crystal clear, and the thought that people from all over the world, literally, can all tune in at the same time ... all for Michael :) :)

Now, this is where you both realise just how dense I really am! When I was listening to Rod Stewart yesterday I kept thinking I knew it ... but I read people going on about others who had sung it so assumed I must have heard one of them at some time .... it never occurred to me I'd heard Michael singing it! I've not played Gems recently, not had time to just relax and take time out for me, so I'm blaming it on that. But I am dense! lol

I need to check your site again Sylvia, I definitely need to see your sculpture! Sounds interesting :)

I've got a stack of questions but trying to keep this brief ... Sylvie, you mentioned the ALW Tour in 2000 and also the FYE CD signing. For the life of me I can't work out what ALW or FYE are! I've even tried checking with my MB albums, but so far no luck. Can you give me a clue please?

I think Forever Eyes I found when it was available on YouTube, it's quite possible I put it on the MB Group for people to listen to, that's the only explanation.

Right, I'd better get something to eat .... Michael should be on soon :)

hugs from me,

di (Scotland) xxx

Hi Diane, I’m so sorry sweetie: sometimes I’m in my little bubble and I think everyone would know what I mean... :D Okay well, ALW is Andrew Lloyd Webber. Michael had toured in 2000 for a couple of months throughout the U.S. with a group of singers and dancers who sang basically a good variety of Andrew’s hits. Michael sang “Garden of Gethsemane” from “Jesus Christ Superstar”, but be warned if you look for that one, it’s a whopper! Michael Crawford did a heart-wrenching version of that one, although different from the movie version of JCS. Michael also sang “Tell me on a Sunday” from “Song and dance” and/or “Tell me on a Sunday”, “Music of the night” and the Phantom duet from “phantom of the opera”, “Memories” from “Cats” and he sang in the group finale “Love changes everything” from “Aspects of love”. BTW, “Forever eyes” wasn’t on any album but was also on a CD single or 2. Okay now Diane, which song were you listening to by Rod, thinking you’d heard it from someone else, was it “pride”? Just checking. Now FYE is a chain of stores in the U.S. FYE stands for “for your entertainment”. Michael did that promo tour for “Vintage”, any more questions? :D Well take care sweetie and if you do have more questions, I’d be happy to answer them. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvie, I'm almost a week late replying so apologies for that,  but I got there - or here, eventually :)

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation of ALW!!   I found 'Garden of Gethsemane', but couldn't find who was singing it.  From what I read, quite a few have sung it but I couldn't find mention of Michael.   I didn't do a thorough search though, I've got Michael (Bolton) playing at the moment ... Safe Place From The Storm ... and I just couldn't bring myself to interrupt him in mid-song! :)

Those are extremely powerful songs you mentioned, Michael's tour must have been amazing!!

My confusion over Rod Stewart/Michael and 'Pride' could be because I was distracted by all the vids, and artists who had recorded it. Listening to Michael sing it is so very different.     I don't suppose it helps that I rarely read the pamphlets, but even though you've pointed it out - it still sounds completely different to Rod Stewart's version.   Plus, I get easily confused! :)

Thank you Sylvie for your patience, and all the information ... I do appreciate it.

Now, Michael's just finished 'Wait on Love' and ... yes, Need You To Fall has just started!!! How lucky am I? lol

Hugs from me,

di,(Scotland) xxx

Hi all, I heard a remix of this song last night on the radio but thought I’d share the actual song with you. It’s a fun energetic song for those who might be getting a little run downwith the cooler or grey weather. It’s called “Say hey, I love you” by Michael Franti and Spearhead:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehu3wy4WkHs&ob=av2e

and while I’m at it, because it’s Friday, here’s a bonus: the song that made me discover Michael Franti & Spearhead 12 years ago:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8KA2flm-QQ&feature=related

This one is called “Sometimes” and this version comes from the soundtrack to a little known movie called “Mystery men”. I love the music but love this guy’s songwriting too. Hope you enjoy them. Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
