New Year Resolutions for 2012....with a completely NEW slant !!!

Following a request and suggestion from a very dear friend of all of ours on this forum, Sylvie from Canada, I’ve agreed to set up this thread on behalf of both of us and hope that you’ll join in the fun .

Sylvie's idea came from the age old New Year resolution pledges that we’ve all made and have often all broken, throughout the years, and hoped that by trying a "new sauce" on that "old turkey"  it could feel easier for us all and give us a chance to be able to "pat ourselves on the back" and proudly say we achieved our goal of following to the end our... "New Month"... resolution instead........ what do you think?

We both agreed that the month of January would be a "freeby" so we can share suggestions if any of our usual active forum members are interested in this project which, we both hope, will turn into something worthwhile and a lot of fun too.  So guys, if you’d like to take part, please feel free to share your ideas of what you think would be useful and fun resolutions for all of us to follow each month.

Obviously this January is, apart from a "freeby" month, a trial month too so that Sylvie and I can see your interest in this and figure out what the majority think so that we can start February with a very firm idea of what our 1st Resolution will be.  Each one, thereafter, will be clearly displayed before the month begins and will be advertised with an MB calendar as is shown below for our "freeby" month of January.  We hope that each month we can all share stories, tips and cheer each other on.

If you’re interested please join in and give us your thoughts and let’s make this great forum even more of a fun place to visit where we can all come together as friends, thanks to our love and admiration for our Michael.

Kathy and LAFD Bob

Thanks girls but you know at my age Kathy one can't afford to hang about for everything is on the downward spirral so just get straight in there and say exactly what you mean and of course there is too the very true saying that if you don't ask, you'll never get and also as Michael says; "go for your dreams !".....LOL.

Love your idea but is it going to be along a "Valentine rhyme" theme or are you going to follow in my local Bards' footsteps  ????? lol.

Now those are fighting words Wee One!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would NEVER say something so mean, cruel, upsetting, rude, reviling, disgusting, hurtful.....did I say mean, cruel? .........LOL  I guess you learned to swim back to the plank!!!! lol

Kathy and LAFD Bob

Was I supposed to actually JUMP off it............ ????? LOL.    You don't think in the "mean old city" we send roses and "mush" for we have thistles and thorns decorating our cards and those words above are as near to an endearment as you are likely to get and then for good measure you may also get the "Glasgow kiss" !!!!!!!!!!! ROFL.

Looks good wee one, but does Michael like Mushrooms?!?!?  Maybe he would prefer cream of broccoli?!?!?   LOL!!!!!  Right now, I need to make a Manilow soup, since Barry is coming to town....or we like to think he is!!!!!!  Got to find out what Barry likes and then make my creation!!!!!    :)

Hugs,

Helena xx

Off with your head woman......how dare you consider making a Barry Soup and not MICHAEL.....how could you ????????????????????? LOL.    Did you spot the little bit of "Italiano" coming into the soup....it is out of a little Italian cook book I have got....it is a set of cook books from around the world and the Greek and Spanish....ohhhhhhhhhh !!!!!! LOL.

Do mushrooms not come in in the veggy diet ??????? lol.     I love mushrooms especially a mushroom omelette .....when you have so many mushrooms that when you flip the omelette over they are squeezing out the side - ohhhhhhhh delicious !!!!! :)))))))     One thing I am pretty certain Michael would love, unless his taste buds have changed completely, is some form of tomato soup and there is another reason for Michael to come into the thread and let us know if he still loves tomatoes - well, do you Michael ???????? LOL.    I never give up....December 31st, 2012 one minute to midnight.....the chant goes up; "Michael, get on this thread !!!" .......yeah, that chant certainly has more chance of being a reality than the other !!!!!!!! LOL.

Kathy and LAFD Bob

Oh Kathy you know how sweet, nice, kind, considerate and thoughtful I am well the first time you step over my threshhold you are getting a mushroom omelette !!!! LOL   In actual fact you remind me of my mum for she HATED mushrooms.....she could hardly even look at one and if I cooked anything with mushrooms, oh boy, if there was the slightest trace on HER plate ...................... !!! LOL   I always threatened to employ a food taster in case she really thought I was trying to poison her......think too you can well imagine the laughs my mum and used to have at such times....yeah good old memories.....OMG I am getting like Springsteen and Glory Days....turn around and where have they gone !!!!! :)

Talking about mushrooms reminds me of one those "fun" cartoon like pictures that you get on FB where there is the woman visiting her husband's grave and there is a mushroom strategically placed (hey, that sounds good doesn't it ???) and she is looking down at it saying;  "Oh, Fred !!!!!!!" and a passerbye says;  "Will someone tell her it is only a mushroom !!!"  .....boom, boom !!!!! ROFL
