Kathy,

I agree totally-just have a show where the singers sing-a singing competetion plain & simple.  But noooooo, gotta have all the drama queen stuff.  But it is due to this day and age.  What was satisfying to the public in the old days is boring now days.  The general public wants drama, scandal, gossip, sex, etc.  Sad to say, but Idol is just keeping up with the demand for what the public wants.

Isn't it funny though Joy because most people now long for the simpler times. I say a show today just might be a hit if they followed the old format. Just saying....or dreaming I guess :/

You could be right.  I know a lot of people really hate all the first few weeks of shows where they show all the terrible singers and make fun of them.   I don't want to start watching it until they are in Hollywood and have already picked the top 24.  Make it a serious show.  Hmmmmm, "Director Kathy", what do you think?

Hi all,

I read that TMZ spoiler, it was on 4/12 Thursday 4:17pm. It sure does seem like they set it up for the ratings.  And to make sure people vote more.  I don't think Randy, Steven and J-Lo knew about it ahead of time.  But IMO Ryan Seacrest and the producers seemed to have it set up ahead of time, knowing the judges would save Jessica.  No one will ever know..............

There will be a stunning turn of events on "American Idol" tonight, because TMZ has learned one of the absolute favorites to win the competition will be eliminated.
Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... producers are scrambling to persuade the judges to use their "save" on the contestant.
We're told producers actually thought 2 of the 3 contestants in the bottom tonight were strong candidates to win the entire competition.
And we're told the person who is booted tonight is the one producers thought was the strongest on the show, and they are as stunned over the vote as they were when Jennifer Hudson was kicked off the show.

Hey Joy, well first, who are these sources and why would they be as careless as to inform TMZ and DUH, did anyone need to be told to use their save? This makes no sense at all. They seem to do something like this every year, it's got to be to hype it up for the ratings.  The sources?  Probably just someone who works in the business in CA who finds something out, TMZ pays them so they spill the beans.  Or Idol wants it to leak. I was wondering about something else and found this out:

  It's filmed live, but it's only live on the East coast. They film it at 5:00 PM in Los Angeles,which is 8:00 on the East Coast, so we watch the live feed. Then, the West Coast watches a recording at 8:00 their time. They have to do it like that because of the 3 hour time difference and so that we're not watching it at 11:00 over here. So the west Coast is a few hours behind, but it's still the same day.

So if it's actually filmed at 5PM in LA, anyone who was there knows what happened!  The time difference can leave open a lot of room for leaks.

Ladies I believe it is all done for ratings. Apparently The Voice is getting higher ratings with the younger crowd so heaven forbid someone get more ratings than another!!! The producers are ratings prostitutes!!! And we are all stuck with the mess :/ Just leave everything alone and let us watch the singers!!! Ugh.....

Sylvie the "duck" came about because of the icon Joy put in when it was suggested that I needed a cold shower and she put in a picture of a shower outdoors but sitting under the water was a duck !!!! lol.
