Thanks Sylvia, it was quick and I had low lighting to try to get pics but I did get a few..He was standing further back on stage so it wasn't as easy to get them..did best I could..LOL

Will post them soon. Her video is cute...The card you can see someone holding behind Brian's head at one point and waving it but for some reason it wasn't brought out. We still don't know the reason for that...One thing that did disappoint us a little, we told all those fans that it would be given to him on stage that signed it last night and then it did not happen..But it was out of our control at that point..We did best we could. Great news is he does have it as you all know by now so it all worked  out in the end..WHEW!!!!!

The venue was very nice to me from the first call I made on Monday about arranging a table or space to do the card signing in the lobby and they followed up and called me back yesterday afternoon after getting all the approvals they had to get etc. We got there about 5:30 and they were ready for us, very nice..Just down the wall on the same side by the merchandise table.  Perfect spot to catch all the incoming traffic. I thanked the staff later at the book signing as the same folks were there working that with MB as well as MB's people..Just wanted to let them know we did appreciate it.  Anyway, hope to have some pics soon..

Birthday MB Concert  York, PA 2/26/2013

This will be a long one, get your cup of tea/coffee ready!!LOL

What a night we had at MB’s concert in York PA last night. Not only was it his birthday but also the new CD, Hitsville came out official too.

My friends and I were asked to help with the large 3 foot card being arranged for MB and we were to get the table and help getting folks to sign the card in the lobby before the show. My two travel buddies June and Kathy and also our friend, Sally from DE and her niece were doing this. Sally worked with Gail to get the card. We were also some in the loop with Tammi about her cake too.   I called the venue on Monday and talked to several people and arrangements were made and approvals gotten by Tuesday afternoon for us to be allowed to have a table to do this in the lobby of the venue. There is a protocol and permissions have to be given I found out. I got the call a few hours before we left for the show that all had been approved, They were ready for us!! Whew!!!!!. The venue staff were very nice and followed up as they said they would with me. We got there about 5:30 and they took us right to the table in the lobby and it was nice with a table cloth and they got us 3 chairs and said anything else we wanted just ask.We were just down from the merchandise table which was perfect.. The  House Manager was very nice with us.  Sally, her niece, and the card arrived and we got some photos with it and by this time a few fans were milling around talking with us and had been waiting for the card too and they posed for pics with it and got our pics for us on our cameras etc..just having fun. Then everyone signed the card that was there etc.I signed for the list I had  at that time too so I did not forget..We started getting a nice line going, my friend June got down by the doors and asked people to please sign the card and also Kathy went across the lobby to the lounge area and made sure people there knew about the card also and asked them to also please sign if they wanted to. Sally and I and her niece kept the line going and helped folks sign and talked to them..Such nice people and quite a few guys in the line too I will say.. Thanks to Jack Sparrow…People said they were long time fans and I said to one lady, it doesn’t matter how long you have been a fan you are a fan, you came tonight, all of us here are fans and all welcome to sign the card.. Another lady asked me if anyone could sign it?  When I said yes, she just grinned and I said pick a color of the pen she wanted to use, we had a selection there..LOL  One other lady told me her sister had passed away and was a follower of MB for many years.. I told her to go ahead and put an “ In Memory Of” type signature down with her sister’s name.. We had one down for our dear friend in DE that recently passed also that was a big MB fan. So all kinds of folks went thru the line and we had to go to the back of the card as it was very full…neat to see all those signatures and people enjoying the idea…Gail and Sally this was a great idea, the people were loving it!!!!  I had Tammi's list not long before we were done and I added those on her list on the back of the card as the inside right panel was full by the time she gave it to me. We double checked the list and all she had were put on there including her's too.

We hoped Sally could take it up to the stage (she was sitting right at it anyway) to him as planned and we thought it was all a go..but  plans were changed by MB’s people and the card was taken by staff and to be presented with the cake already with MB’s people backstage. That was what we were told before the show started.   Thanks very much to Tammi for getting a lovely cake for MB and getting it there for him to have on stage.  I don't have pics with what it looked like. Tammi does. On stage they couldn't tilt it I guess for us to see or it may have ended up on the floor!!LOL

When the show started MB came out and sang Soul Provider and sounded fantastic. This venue had the set up for him further back from the edge of the stage some so taking pics wasn’t easy for me. My camera does well if I have enough light..Some venues are better than others..We had 2nd row center seats on the aisle and like Greensburg, 4 seats in front of us were empty in front row..So I scooted up there when we heard Happy Birthday being played by the band next after Soul Provider and the audience started to sing. The sheet cake came out to our left by the piano being carried by one of MB’s staff- with a big single candle on it! He stood there smiling and laughing like “you got me” and one time acted like he was going to flip it onto the guy that was holding it as the song was sung and played!!LOL..all in fun..He did say that yes today was his birthday if people wondered why that song was being played. He clapped when the band were done too!! J  He liked their rendition!!!He did blow out his candle and everyone cheered. .He talked about being in denial, counting years backwards etc…I got a few pics of him with the cake..It all happened very quickly and he wasn’t as close to the front of the stage with the set up so I did best I could.  They sat the cake on the piano and MB keep looking at it and said how good it looked and it would not long!!LOL  MB then also thanked people in the audience who sent gifts and flowers and cards backstage to him. (We did and he did get our little gift and that was nice).  He looked at us when he was doing the general thanking at one point..After all these years my two friends and I had to get a little something.  He only turned 60 once. LOL

We were thinking tho the whole time where is the big card?? Sally said later she saw it being waved off to the side and in the video that’s going around you can see a person behind Brian across the stage waving it but then it was taken away..We were disappointed for all the fans we told that he would get that on stage with the cake..We did our best, and they must have had their reasons for the change in plans..We then were hoping to find out if the card was given to MB and not just backstage somewhere..We didn’t know till after the show for sure!!!! Thanks goodness there was a book/CD signing to have a chance to ask!!LOL  Anyone reading this that was there, we had no control over a change in plans, we were told he would get it on stage, sorry if we disappointed anyone.

He was in a great mood and lots of smiles. When he went off to change clothes the first time after the cake was brough out he teased the audience and said don't let anything happen to my cake!!LOL  He was teased by a lady that said something about seeing him in his birthday suit! MB cracked right back and said that would be a very expensive ticket!!!! Or something to that affect… Also wonder what that agent’s fee would be!!! Laughing and smiling… One other time a lady said she left her husband at home and she came to the concert and that they were married I thinks 63 years or something like that. MB was impressed but said that was great  after teasing her that her husband may not be there when she gets home. And I’m sure he really likes me!!LOL Or was that the secret to a long marriage. He then congratulated her tho.. People were yelling out all kinds of stuff here and there during the show.

At one point he then announced he would be doing a book/CD signing after the show since today was the day his new CD was released.  Maybe it was before he and Kelly sang, that part I don’t remember clearly but it was some time in there I think.  I thought that’s cool I wanted to get to do one and now we can ask about that card!!!!!!

He nailed the duets again with Kelly and the Motown tunes rocked the house. Everyone loved them. Lots of clapping and dancing in our seats. OMG we rocked out. I did get video of Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing this time..LOL Got them both now on video.A new thing for me so I’m trying one song a show.   The sound in this venue was very good we thought.. MLington and band were a lot of fun again during their times to shine and the interlude before WAMLAW. MB came out into the audience to the left of us and stood back our aisle and had to then take a short walk go back around the outside edge and up steps at the end of the stage, the seats were very close to the stage in front so no way could he go that way… Well we all in the front stood for a while but then no one else came down the aisles. So we sat for HCWBL and Steel Bars which is not quite as much fun but we all chair danced and rocked along.  MB then did TLT and about half way thru people said heck with it and people ran to the stage in the aisles on both sides so we stood too! Everyone across the front row seats were up!LOL We were already at the stage. So we stood rocking out at least to the last part of TLT. During the first part of TLT and Steel Bars, How Can We Be Lovers he seemed to miss the audience standing at the stage. He did put the mic down at us at the earlier part of TLT I think it was.LOL

I have some good pictures during the show and a bunch of clunkers too and thankfully I have enough to post.. I was starting to worry at first.

Then they did the line up and we hoped we would get an encore.  We did.  He came out and sat in front of the piano and thanked the band and named them and then took the time to thank the crew and said how hard they work to make it all happen and they are first ones in the building each day and last ones out each night. Was very nice what he said about all the folk that work on his tour.

So then he sang Georgia and it was wonderful as always with Michael Lington on sax.   We all stood for that one, none of the fans were going to sit back down now!!LOL. The setlist was about the same as the others and at least this time he did start out with Soul Provider which we were glad of.  That’s a great launch for the show we think.

When he went off to change clothes after I think it was Sweet Home Chicago he tossed his guitar  pic our way and it landed on the stage..Sally’s niece got it later when we were all standing up. They were front row to the right of us so that was neat. I was happy for her..She was grinning from ear to ear.

After the show we go back to the lobby in the mob of people and there was a mega line for the autographs. We all had merchandise we could get signed so we got in line..talked to people for a while and waited.  LOL  We were then determined to be sure to ask him about the big card, I was and if I forgot one of my friends would have. LOL  We had a plan and we had Gail in the loop too and she also wanted to find out. She’d been so great and supporting us with all this and we wanted her to know how things were going since she wasn’t able to be there.

MB came out to a big cheer and it probably took us another 30 minutes or more then to snake thru the line and get to Milo who was writing down on Post It’s people’s names and or what they want MB to write for them. I teased him about his job!!LOL  He’s such a fun guy to chat with and is so good with the fans.   Time to get to MB and I did get some pics before my turn at the table.  My friend took pics of my things on the table being signed which was neat while I was talking to Michael. We said hello and he asked me how the sound was and I said I thought it was good and he said he did too. So then I asked if he had gotten the big birthday card signed by all the fans..He got a big grin on his face and said YES and he LOVED IT, it was Awesome..I told him we were concerned and Gail had gotten the card and we helped with getting it signed and we wondered since it wasn’t brought out with the cake or something too that effect.. He said he would get some photos with it for the fans to post. I told him fans around the world were waiting online on the forum site to hear if he got it as it was from ALL his fans.. A lady that was ahead of me in line waited to hear what he said to me as she said she was on the forum too.. MB smiled and said he would get the photos to post  and thanked us again..  We said a few more things back and forth and he signed my CD disc for the Motown record, ticket and copy of the audio book. I goofed up something I said to him referring to Greensburg last week and I said Chester for some stupid reason!! He teased me.  He said now you haven’t been to Chester yet and smiled. I said I know what city am I in or something..DUH ROBIN!!!LOL He said he can get confused too or something..kidding me..LOL   It had been a long night.  I did get to wish him Happy Birthday and thanked him for letting all of us be a part of it.

.He’s so sweet to sign all of those for me.  The ticket was special with it being his birthday show, my friend asked for hers besides her CD and he did.

All three of us got a chance to say a few words to him which was neat, as we may not be going to shows together with all 3 of us after this. My third friend is moving to another area of the country later this year so we wanted to have a blast together at this show and we sure did, seeing him at the end was icing on the cake at the signing!!!

I was able to get some pics of my two friends at the table too after my turn and they let us stand off to the side and watch till he finished.  I got some of a few other BB’s too...I took a bunch of pics and got some cute ones.  I bet he signed over an hour or more..seemed like it anyway and he told us few fans still there to travel safe and the few of us there watched him leave back thru the lobby doors and out thru the venue…He thanked us all again too.  What a great night we all had..Such a relief he got that card after all that everyone had put into it along with all the hard work and working out of logistics of the cake. So glad Tammi got to talk to him and tell him she is the one that got the cake for him..  That took some doing too and it was great to see him so happy about all of it

Was nice meeting Missy W..and seeing some other ladies too that we see in the central PA area and Tammi and our friend Sally again and some other gals who I forgot your names but were so nice to come up and chat with us off and on.  Sorry I’m bad with names and faces at first in a bunch of people.

Thanks to Gail and everyone that helped us with the card project and the cake.. It was a lot of fun talking to the fans and helping out like that to be a part of it.

It will be a night I’ll never forget as a Bolton fan..If I think of anything else I will add a PS to the thread.  What an ADVENTURE!!!

Robin and Sylvie, the pic is one with a member of  MB's crew smiling and holding on the left of the stage in front of the piano the big sheet cake and a single candle in it burning. MB is turned facing him smiling with one hand like almost in his pants pocket . He has his other hand up..The band is still playing Happy Birthday. He has a smile like ok you guys got me!!

P.S. This pic posted a bit odd, I will have all of them up in the gallery together soon. I had 4 or 5 of him on stage with the cake.

Thanks!
