Statement on Videos

This has just been posted:

In "general" artists spend a lot of time and money to create a high sonic quality at their shows and there is no way to reproduce that through a phone from the audience. When we release a dvd of the live shows we record them on the highest quality cameras and using the best microphones made to reproduce the live experience. Where venues ask no photos Michael invites the audience to take them, but streaming video is not desirable. So please DO NOT take or post videos of Michael’s shows, if Michael’s wishes mean anything to you at all.

o.k. now this is a definitive statement! Even if mb teams stands under it and not only Michael. Before it was never official! If it is really Michaels wish, I will respect the wish. But completely I will not understand the setting! It is a really pity!

Petra, you need to put yourself in Michael's place rather than a fan. He has no control over what is recorded and posted to the world wide internet and that is a control any artist would want. He allows all the pictures you want but video with sound, etc is what he is asking. His voice is what he is known for and if someone should take a video (which they did) and post when his voice was not at its best...it could cause harm to his career and as fans we don't want that.

I accept it Gail! Do not misunderstand me!!! I also see that the videos of Berlin to him have damaged. However, I have put no Berlin video. I understand Michael to 100%, but I have always loved the videos!!! Please, do not misunderstand! Michael's wish is from now on my order! Promised!!!

Right you are.....with Facebook, Instagram, and just the Internet in general, people post anything they want and all they'd have to do is insert a MB clip into some of these awful videos and he'd be forever linked to it/them. I understand his policy perfectly and hope all MB fans understand this as well.

Thanks Gail for a very clear instruction as to exactly what Michael's thoughts are on matter instead of just hearsay from fans attending concerts where announcement was made and on my part, respect will be afforded to him as regards his wishes. Thanks again !!! :)

Thanks Gail and I appreciate that an official comment has been made by MB's team. It is unfortunate that there will still be the negative Nellie's that will post a "poor" video. I find it hard to believe a real fan would do so in the first place :/ I hope whatever is floating out there doesn't become a nuisance for Michael!! Shame on any FAN for posting such a video!! I am on board with no vids :)
