Miscellany but exceptionally relevant information about, or from Michael on, MB.

Thought I would start this thread for there does appear, at times, to be different relevant articles, tweets, retweets, pictures etc relating to Michael but not really fitting into an already recognized thread nor, each of them individually, being able to be grouped together where a relevant thread could be started and so decided on this "Miscellany" thread.

I hope you agree with its relevance and that you enjoy everything that is put in as well as hoping that many will find interesting tidbits about Michael that can be included and help to make this, whilst a serious sharing of information, a FUN page to be able to visit too and, as is my intention, somewhere that everything which does not have a particular "home" can be placed, so that is all grouped together and can be easily found and located if someone wants to look at.

Here now, so that we can all focus on the main reason for this thread, is a beautiful picture of the "Theme" of the thread.......wonder if MB has ever been called that before ???? LOL.

Believe this one definitely belongs in here for I would say sharing with us that coconut sorbet is his favourite dessert is both miscellaneous and more than extremely relevant to the "THEME" of this website and in particular, to this thread  !! LOL.

Hope everyone enjoys content and feels free to add their very own miscellany !!! :)

'Motown Homecoming' kicks off at Roostertail

An array of Motown stars and former staffers are gathering Tuesday evening ahead of Wednesday's premiere of "Motown: The Musical"

Singer Michael Bolton was the surprise entertainment Tuesday night at the Motown Homecoming at the Roostertail.

"This music is in my DNA," Bolton said, before performing 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough.' This is the music I grew up with in Connecticut."

The gala was part of the celebratory events surrounding Wednesday's Detroit premiere of "Motown: The Musical" at the Fisher Theatre.

The Chairman himself, Berry Gordy, arrived just before the presentations started, proclaiming "I feel great," as his singers and staffers pressed in to hug him.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan presented Gordy with a key to the city, which the Motown founder held up like a boxing trophy as Mason boomed out "Berry Gordy, music champion of the world!"

"It's such a thrill to bring the Motown story back here where it all started," Gordy said, before inducing some of his stars to join him in singing the company song.

Barry Gordy leads some of Motown's original employees in the singing of the company song.

"Motown: The Musical" is the origin story of the iconic Detroit record company founded by Gordy in 1959.

Stevie Wonder told The Deroit News on Friday that he was going to try to make it in from California as he felt Gordy was "one of the two most under appreciated people in music" (the other being B.B. King).

The Roostertail has special significance in Motown history, as the site of "Motown Mondays," where in the 1960s WKNR disc jockey Scott Regen hosted the label's acts, including the Supremes and Four Tops, at the Detroit riverfront restaurant owned by the Schoenith family.

The "Motown Homecoming" was open to VIP ticketholders, with proceeds from the $500 tickets going to benefit the Motown Historical Museum.

John Mason emceed and Duggan and Rep. John Conyers spoke as Martha Reeves, Claudette Robinson of the Miracles, Katherine Anderson Schaffner of The Marvelettes, Duke Fakir of the Four Tops, former sales chief Berne Ales and other Motown alums circulated and caught up with friends.

Petra (Germany)

Thanks for the link Sylvia. I'm personally unaware on how to access the videos, because it sounds like a bunch of Twitter handles to me, but I'm sure some people will appreciate it. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada :D

Hopefully, after quite a few false starts, hope this is the link into just Michael's video and it plays okay for you Sylvie.   Sorry for all the deleted replies folks !!!!! :(

Hi Sylvia, I don't know if it's supposed to come on automatically or you're supposed to click on something, but nothing changed. Thanks for trying so hard though, I appreciate it. :D Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada :D

Thought would put this on this thread also and it is tweet I've picked up on Twitter from American Greetings who obviously is the company Michael is in collaboration with on his e-card venture.

Did you catch Monday night's for a sneak peek of our upcoming collaboration with ? We're excited!

So I went to the American Greetings website, very interesting!  They have ecards and paper cards you customize online & print from your home computer. You can email, text message or post ecards to Facebook. They offer a free trial for 7 days, then if you want to pay it's $20 for 1 year, $30 for 2 years or $4 for 1 month. Taylor Swift already has a page of cards, some with music, some not. So I imagine Michael's will be similar to this, but his songs & maybe he has a say on the designs etc.

So as soon as MB's on there, we can all sign up for the free trial & send each other cards!
Will be fun!

Oh boy thanks Joy for looking all that up ...terrific !! :)   Love your idea of the 7 day free trial and we all send them to each other...love it and truly believe your a girl after my own heart and hey, they say the Scots are stingy and moths fly out of our wallets when we open them once a year, think that concept has been passed across the Pond from here....LOL

Thanks again Joy !!! :)
