About a week ago I received a voice message from the San Diego Symphony stating that Michael Bolton had cancelled his performance for Sun., Sept. 12.  I didn't think too much of it until I heard on the radio that he was performing at the Viejas Casino on Sun., Sept. 12.  I called the Symphony and asked for an explanation.  I was told that he cancelled because the booking was not as large as he had liked.  I'm hoping someone here can give me a better explanation.  I'm having a hard time understanding why he would decide to perform at a Casino about an hour east of San Diego than with the fabulous San Diego Symphony.  If it's just a money thing, I think it really puts a damper on my opinion of this great vocalist.

Thank you.

I wonder if the demand for tickets was greater than the seating allowance at the San Diego Symphony?

Michael wouldnt want to let down any of his fans if he could fins a slightly larger venue where more people could attend.

I'm certain that it wouldnt be a 'money thing' as you put it. Michael doesnt like to dissappoint his fans and maybe if demand was there for more seats, then thats what he would want to do. Michael seems to like performing at casinos.

Of course, I am only summising this assumption, and am guessing the reason for the switch.

Perhaps if Gail knows the answer she will post it here for you.

Welcome to the forum by the way.
