It is with sadness report on the passing of a member, on the website, and a long term fan of Michael's, JANE HICKMAN, from the UK.

Jane passed away on Monday afternoon, 27th March, after a, more than, courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  She fought for the spirit of life she had in her soul from day one, in February, 2016, when she was diagnosed up until just a couple of weeks ago when, after going for a transfusion, she was re-admitted to hospital.  Jane truly believed, although knowing she still had a road to travel, she was on the last section of that road which would lead to recovery, unfortunately, fate played another hand.

When she went through chemotherapy she was dreading, as is only natural, how she would look bald but she managed to devise many beautiful and wonderful ways to wear lovely head scarfs, apart from, on many occasions, having the courage and strength to go without and saying to the world; "look, this is me!!!"  Eventually, when her hair began to grow again, she was surprised and delighted with way it grew back in, so much so, she had a special black and white photo taken which she used as her profile picture on Twitter and here, as a lasting memory (or, however fleeting everything is, on the Internet) is that picture:

As said, Jane was a true hard core fan and had not only attended Michael's concerts here in UK but had travelled to the States to see Michael at the Gala's and golf events which used to be held in the Connecticut area and know, those wonderful memories,.never left her.

Finally, I only knew Jane for a short period of time and only on the Internet but I am so, so glad I did get to "meet" her and today, whilst feeling sadness at her passing, am pleased she is free of the pain, anxiety and stress her illness caused her.

Honoured our paths crossed on this earth and proud to be able to call you a "friend" ..... goodnight Jane and may your soul soar to its freedom in the past, present and future.

Hi Sylvia, I didn't know Jane, but that's a lovely tribute, thanks for  sharing and my heart goes out to her family and friends.  Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada :D

I was sorry to read this over on Twitter and your post on FB.  I tweeted some with her and she was a true fan of MB's and fought so hard to beat her cancer. I was rooting and praying for her.

RIP Jane. You will be missed but not forgotten!

Robin in MD :)
