Michael on QVC
Hey gang,
I don't know how many of you ladies here in the U.S. watch QVC, besides myself (watch HSN too). Over the years I've seen many famous singers (Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, James Taylor, Neil Sedaka, Elton John.....to name a few), sell their CD's on QVC. I don't recall ever seeing Michael selling any of his Cd's on TV and thought I mentioned this to him (Does he ever read the messages in the forum?). Since he is getting ready to release the new Christmas CD, going on QVC will be great publicity for him. Many times the artists that sell their CD's, include a bonus disc with extra songs or a DVD with the new release that you can't get on line or at a store. Don't know if Michael can provide this, but he should consider connecting with the folks at QVC. He can perform live with or without an audience (the studio is in Pennsylvania), or from a theatre that he is going to peform at while he is on tour. He can be on for 1/2 or full hour, and for those of you not living in the states you can watch him on QVC.com!! So Michael if you are reading this, have your manager contact the people at QVC and go for it!!

Hi Helena and since you haven’t been here long, welcome to the forum! I’m not sure about QVC, but I know Michael has been on HSN for “Vintage” and there was the bonus track “God bless the child” on the CD they were selling. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think he was also on for “Bolton swings Sinatra”. The problem with those exclusive CD’s Helena is that they’re a big pain for us outside the U.S. to obtain. Michael mentioned once the practicality of having hisCD’s at Target for instance. That’s all well and good for U.S. shoppers, but when his CD’s are Target exclusive, since Target does not sell outside the U.S., I think it cuts out a huge client base. Ask anyone who tried to get the “Live at the Royal Albert Hall” or his first “A swinging xmas” CD’s… Just my opinion. Thanks for sharing Helena, take care. For the past few years that I've been watching HSN, I haven't seen any artists selling their CD's. Only Esteban selling guitars, but usually QVC is the place for artists to sell CD's and DVD's. It must have been some time ago that Michael was on HSN.... Anyway, I thought I mentioned about QVC...like you said someone else can bring it to Michael's attention if he doesn't read everything on the forums. Thought it was a nice idea......

Hi Helena, well, I’m absolutely positive that he was on HSN for “Vintage” which came out in 2003, because my friend and I were trying to find the phone number to call, to get the CD with the bonus track. We’re both blind and I’m in Canada so it wasn’t easy! Lol I ended up getting the Cd at his concert. I only heard about him being on for one of the 2 other CD’s I’ve mentioned, because someone posted a video of it in the “New videos on Youtube” thread.

I'm sorry that you guys have problems getting Michaels' music from HSN and QVC, never thought about that! When I want to buy Cd's of my favorite italian artists, I have a few stores in my neighborhood that sells them. So that is never a problem for me...thank god! I love my italian music, especially Renato Zero. He is the best Italian singer on the planet...at least he is for me!! :)
I was just watching HSN while having dinner last night, and there was an advertisement for Rod Stewart. He's on Saturday night at 8:00 pm (Eastern Time) to sell his latest CD. So I guess HSN is back to selling music...how about that! Well I like Rod, so if there is nothing else to watch Saturday night I'll watch his performance.

You mentioned that you are blind, I'm very sorry. I have a younger brother (he's 40) who was brain damage at birth and cannot see out of one eye. He also does not speak, has epilepsy and is like a child. My father passed away 2 years ago, and last year my mother and I finally found a home for him. The past 2 years has been very hard on me and my mom. Luckly the home is a 20 minute drive from my home and we can visit him anytime we want. So I guess we are all doing the best we can. Hey Helena, you don’t have to be sorry for me or anyone else being blind! Lol That’s life and you learn to deal with it. I’m sorry about your brother though and I’m glad you can visit him easily. Well, just goes to show that there’s always someone who has it harder than you do… I lost my parents at an early age but had my sisters with me and now have a family of 4 kids so I’m good! I know life is hard for many people, but glad to hear you have the love and support from your family. There are some people who are disabled and have no family members after their parent's passed away... I feel sorry for them. At least my brother has me, my mom and my older brother. I'm not that big on opera music, my dad was more into it. But I don't mind listening to it, especially when the 3 tenors used to perform on TV years ago. I'm more into modern italian music...the popular rock and pop artists. I've added you as a friend! Tonight I'm seeing Patrick Stewart on Broadway and Sunday I'm going to Mystic Seaport for a day trip with mom. Will see my brother tomorrow and take him to lunch. So a busy weekend for me!
