Hey Gang,

I've been thinking about buying one of Michael's DVD's to have in my collection.  I've looked on Amazon and see 2 on the Market "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" and the "Best of MB".  They do not have a list of the songs on the DVD's so can someone give me an idea which songs are on them and which one should I get?  I only want to get one, since I want to get a few of his CD's that I don't have.  I appreciate the help, since you guys are die hard fans of Michael and know his music better than me!

Thanks!

Helena

Hi Helena, I just thought you should know that the "My secret passion" DVD is the visual version of Michael's opera arias CD, complete with Michael commenting on what he's singing. Also, the "Essential Michael Bolton" is a terrific DVD, however, it's a region 2 Pal DVD, which means it's not made for North American DVD players. Take care sweetie and breathe! lol Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Oh Mamma Mia! What a relief....few less DVD's to worry about...LOL!!

Hugs back!
Helena
I have a copy of the 'Essential Michael Bolton' and it is Region 2 so it plays in the UK and the rest of Europe too.

I've also remembered that I have a copy of 'Michael Bolton in concert' which has the same visual and musical content as the 'Best of Michael live' and the same contect as another DVD by the same name but with a different image on the cover.

You do have to be a bit careful because different companies bring out an identical DVD to the last one, but with a slightly different cover, completely different name, but the same songs from the same concert!!

I've also remembered another dvd called 'Merry Christmas from Vienna' which features Michael, Placido Domingo and Ying Huang.

I hope this helps you.

Hya Helena,
Sorry to confuse you with all of this dvd talk. There are quite a few videos and dvd's.

I am slowly working my way through a box of VHS videos that I've been given that contain some very old and very rare TV appearances, baseball games and concert clips. I've transferred about 10 of them onto DVD so far!! Only about another 50 odd to go!! Ha Ha!!

Seriously, some of the stuff on these videos is very rare and I cant wait to share it with you all. I will be selling them
to raise funds for the First ever, UK Fan reception next year.

With regards to the cd's and dvd's have you looked on Amazon.com for cheaper copies? There are some sellers on there who are selling them for literally pennies with very cheap postage.

Also Ebay could be a superb source for cd albums, and dvd's etc..

You could build up your collection very quickly this way and very cheaply.

Hi Jen, I have a question about the DVD's you'll be selling. I'm seriously salivating at the thought of listening to what you have, however, won't the DVD's you make be region2? I have no idea how that works with DVD burning but it would be a crying shame if you could only sell your DVD's in Europe, first of all, because other countries would be missing out and that would cut a lot of profit you could make for the charities... It's something to consider... Let me know. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hya Sylvie,

Yes, sadly all the dvd's I am producing will be region 2, but still perfectly playable on a pc, laptop etc...so the purchaser will still be able to view them fully this way.

There may also be a way for the overseas puchaser to view a region 2 dvd on their region 1 player by 'Googling' the 'un-lock code' for their player model number.

Here is the site containing the codes http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

And heres the site telling you how to do it. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/dvd-unlock

This does not damage your machine and will not invalidate your warranty as it is virtually undetectable becasue it just invloves pressing a few buttons and nothing is physically change in your machine.

There is nothing I can do about the region that they are recorded on as my dvd recorder is a region 1, but as long as the purchaser will has the capabaility full viewing ability, I will be happy. All purchasers will be made fully aware of the region at the time of advertising.

I am not selling them at an exhorbitant price and all of the profits are be donated to the charity's that Michael himself has approved of.

I am roughly calculating the price to be £5 per dvd which equates to $7.88. US. Plus postage costs of course.

I hope this allays your concerns.

Wow, thanks a lot for the info Jen! I'll pass it along to my daughter and see what she thinks of how doable this is, since I can't do it myself. Thanks so much Jennifer, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Jennifer,

I think it's great that you are selling copies of the DVD's for the fan reception. It's too bad that video's and DVD's only work overseas if a person has a multi-system VCR. I used to have one for VHS, but it broke twice on me and I got rid of it. It cost me $90.00 the first time to fix it. So I have VHS video's of Renato Zero and can't watch them anymore....what a bummer! Thank god for the internet I can see all the video's I want of him, Michael and anyone else I like!!

I will check out Amazon for sure. Is Ebay the place that sells used items? I will avoid that...I prefer something new. It's no rush to build my collection. I listened to Michael's new CD last night and I'm waiting patiently for Orrin's CD, plus I have so many records, tapes and CD's of other artists that I like....music is always with me! I'm also enjoying all the video's that you guys list here on the forum, so there is no rush even for the DVD...but don't worry I will treat myself....after all Christmas is coming...LOL!

Let me go...my lunch hour is almost over! Will return this evening....

Hugs,
Helena..xx....
