Helen, thanks for ALL the videos and ALL the photos, you have done a fantastic job reporting on all those concerts in the UK, I know it must have been such a tough job, but someone had to do it, LOL! I know you hate it that it is over, but boy the memories you will have! I am so glad he is feeling better and will soon have a few days off for the holidays...well I guess it is back to your real life now and you get a bit of rest!! Thanks again for the great job you did to keep us updated.

AAWWWWWW...I know that feeling Helen!!! What a shame you couldn't go to the stage for your last concert but I did mention earlier that perhaps Michael was trying to avoid more germs. You know if he had fans at the stage he would shake their hands and maybe he was being extra careful since he is just getting healthy again :/ Well...just start planning for his next concert tour...you know you will be there!!!!

Hi Helen, thank you once again for the Sheffield and Manchester videos and thank you so very much for your amazing job at reporting the 2010 U.K. tour: it was a tough job I know, but someone had to do it! Lol Sweetie, it was fun to look for your posts every other day and I’m sure you’re a celebrity on this forum by now! :D Helen, I sympathize and certainly understand about you feeling sad this was your last concert, but you have, as I’ve said earlier, an abundance of special memories to hold on to. Maybe you should make yourself a special scrapbook at home, including your reviews for reference, along with your pictures. You were fortunate enough to do something not a lot of us can do and hope you treasure it for as long as you live sweetie. Thanks again for everything you’ve shared with us, God bless you. Big warm hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Helen, I'm so sorry to hear you had to deal with security that didn't allow you to the stage at the last show. I know it was a dissapointment being the last one. But what an amazing adventure you got to have and thank you for sharing it with all of us!!

I appreciate it, you have added so much to this thread in the last few weeks, it's been a lot of fun reading your post and hearing from you. Also thanks for the many pics/videos. THANK YOU!!!

Robin

Hi Robin and everyone else there,

I just returned home from hearing, seeing , experiencing Michael’s concert in Düsseldorf/Germany. We absolutely had a great time!

Although it was a long day with hours of driving – after returning from work I collected a good friend, my mother and then my sister from different cities to drive to Düsseldorf and way back – I am too deeply affected to go to bed right now and so I write better now.

The last time I left a note on this forum was in June, when I was shocked about cancelled concerts I was so looking forward to. I was not able to stay in touch with you because I was so scared this might happen again. But I read your fabulous reviews hoping I would be able to share mine with you too. So here it is:
Without a doubt the headline has to be: The most wonderful singer in the world and his spectacular band made a night always to remember to his audience!!!
(Does anyone dare to contradict it? - watch out :-)
“Amazing”, “unbelievable”, “overwhelming” and lots of words like these I heard during the concert and afterwards and yet, words cannot describe the experience to be bathed in Michael’s music and awesome voice. But let me try some chronology.

When we entered the hall I was quite astonished that the concert has not been cancelled, because two third of the seats – or even more – have been covered up. Unfortunately the show was so far away from being sold out as I hoped it for Michael’s success and of course for his and our joy too. So right from the beginning it was clear that this was more like a kind of “familiar club concert” and I wondered if Michael and his band members were disappointed and – although I expected them to be professional enough not to show it – if there would be a kind of shadow lying on the next hours. To clear it up right now: the opposite seemed to happen! Michael and his crew seemed to be absolutely in peace with the situation. They were relaxed and not for a single moment I had the impression that they only “did their job”. I cannot tell you how deeply we all appreciated this attitude. I guess this was the basis for a “magic night” – at least for us! Especially Michael seemed to be in a peaceful, warm and caring mood. As he encouraged us not only to take photos but also to sing with him and make as much noise as we would like to, we yelled out to him, but because of the small crowd I wondered if he was aware how deeply we were touched and enjoyed listen to him.

Because of all your wonderful reviews I guess you all know about the “common song list” so I can reduce myself on our personal favorite songs and the ones I did not expect to hear.
Of course he sang “To love somebody” which made my sister cry the first time, because she loves this song the most. Our mother – we presented her this ticket for her 65. Birthday in November and it was her first concert in her whole life – and my friend Bettina as well as my sister for the second time cried their hearts out listening to “Nessun dorma”. “Of course” standing ovations for Michael in the end from almost all the audience!!! :-) Finally, I hate to sit down!
Since my mother grew up in the Fifties and she loves Rock’n’Roll and Blues she – and all of us – absolutely enjoyed “Sweet home Chicago”, Rock me Baby (encore). Our friend Bettina said, she rocked the house!!! By this time I already was standing in front of the stage so I missed watching her but I had free sight to watch Michael – amazing to see him playing the guitar and how deeply he goes into these songs – and I do not regret my choice :-).

The first time I was surprised was when he played “ Hope it’s too late”, which is one of my favorite songs on OWOL. I read in other reviews how much other fans missed Michael playing songs from the album so I did not expect it – and I really loved it and so did the rest of the audience too!!!
But my absolute highlight was listening to “Hallelujah”! Before he played this song there was a very funny interaction concerning requested songs. Beside of “Georgia” – which marked the end of the show – people asked for Christmas songs and songs even from Blackjack-times. I dared twice to shout for “Hallelujah” but really did not expect him to sing it, because there were already so many other songs performed by Michael. So it really hit me when he started to sing “Hallelujah”. Needless to say that I loved every note and I still “suffer” from goosebumps!!!

When Michael sang WAMLAW in the middle of the audience I tried to give him the rose I bought, but I was rejected by the security. But unlike in Manchester they were very respectful. Later I put my rose on the edge of the stage and I refused to present it to Michael because it was squeezed due to too many contacts in the crowd. But then Michael came over, took it and said he would like to save it. This man is a true gentleman and has the heart of a knight. :-)

Sometimes for a moment I watched the others consciously and what I saw deeply touched me. I saw a lot of men (!) really enjoying themselves, singing along and even dancing a little bit! I saw couples looking very deeply into each other eyes and smiling so warmly. People showed happy and bright faces everywhere and strangers talked to each other. There was an atmosphere of a warm, deep respect and gratitude towards Michael and his band and I really hope they could feel it too.

I hope you can imagine how deeply I wish Michael the success and acknowledgement worldwide he really deserves.
So I close my review with the feeling of a heartfelt gratitude to have experienced such a wonderful night and wish all of you to enjoy the forthcoming concerts, but beware you might become dependent … Like my mother said: Where and when will be the next concert?

Best wishes and greetings from

Astrid
Astrid,

Thank you for your review. You made me feel like I was there. Glad you had a great time but sorry to hear it was not sold out. You are right MB is addictive (dependent).
