2012 TOUR REVIEW THREAD-PLEASE SHARE YOUR 2012 MB CONCERT ADVENTURES WITH US HERE!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE, Since the 2011 Tour Review Thread is not playing nice and throwing us all back to the beginning lately, Gail asked if I would go ahead and start the 2012 thread. So here it is.. We can all share our excitement for Michael's upcoming touring and events in 2012 and chat and have fun here till the shows start in 2012.

Everyone is welcome to post and share their stories and pictures, videos from concerts and trips to see Michael do what he does best-SING!!!   Michael will be touring in 2012 starting so far with some shows the end of January.  There could be other events sooner too so if anyone attends a great Bolton event/concert, feel free to share your experience here.  I hope to have a review after the Chester, PA show on January 28th along with some other fans that have gotten tickets for that show and  the Atlantic City, NJ show on January 27th as well!  After that there are shows in Australia so far listed for 2012.  Following those shows we have the Concert for MBC and Traveler's Golf Event in June, 2012 and later on the MBC Gala in Sept.. We already have some exciting events to look forward to next year and I know there will be much more to come.

I am looking forward to another fun year of posts and sharing by the best Michael Bolton fans in the world on this forum.. I will post events to keep the thread moving along as the concerts come up as before.

Welcome everyone!!!!!

When you hear the name Michael Bolton, what comes to mind?

Is it heartfelt ballads, rap or opera?

Is it music, film or activism?

How about the long curly locks, mullet or short and sexy?

Or perhaps it’s the Grammys, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or the humanitarian awards?

The answer is: all of the above, depending on the era you know him from.

Bolton will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St.

The “about” link at http://www.michaelbolton.com details Bolton’s diverse resume.

“The multiple Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and social activist, who has sold more than 53 million albums and singles worldwide, continues to tour the world every year, all while writing, recording and taping for a wide array of projects spanning music, film, television and theater,” the website said.

Bolton has had nine No. 1 singles. His most successful album, “Soul Provider,” was released in 1989 and sold more than 12.5 million copies worldwide. It included the single and No. 1 hit “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,” which earned Bolton his first Grammy.

Bolton actually became a viral sensation appearing in The Lonely Island’s “Captain Jack Sparrow” comedy video that debuted on Saturday Night Live, according to the website. The Emmy-nominated video has had more than 95 million views on YouTube, and was the third most viewed video of 2011.

But Bolton is also known for a bit of opera.

“Bolton has recorded and performed with Luciano Pavarotti on stage in a highly praised rendition of ‘Vesti La Giubba,’ and pays homage to the Italian tenor when performing the aria ‘Nessun Dorma’ at each of his concerts while on tour,” the website said.

“He’s not only known for his soulful voice and poignant lyrics — his timeless style, charm and good looks have earned him a spot in several ‘People Magazine’s Sexiest Man’ issues, including 2012’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’,” the site said.

In the film category, Bolton has appeared on numerous television and film soundtracks, “including the Oscar-nominated theme song ‘Go the Distance’ from Walt Disney’s blockbuster animated film ‘Hercules,’” the website says. He also executive produced the documentary ‘Terror at Home,’ addressing domestic violence in America, and was Emmy-nominated for writing the title song ‘Tears of The Angels,’” the site said.

Bolton also sang and acted in a season premier of “Two and a Half Men” and landed his own new comedic series on ABC.

And when it comes to activism, “Michael remains committed to humanitarian causes, especially through the Michael Bolton Charities as well as other social and political organizations,” the website said.

“He has been honored with several Humanitarian awards — including the Martin Luther King Award granted by the Congress of Racial Equality (C.O.R.E.), the Lewis Hine Award from The National Child Labor Committee, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor from the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, and the Frances Preston Lifetime Achievement Award. Michael Bolton Charities is in its 20th year of advocating on behalf of women and children at risk,” the site said.

Tickets to Bolton’s show are $59–$69 and can be purchased at Back Porch Music, City Market stores, by calling 243-8497 or at TicketsWest.com."
