You guessed it!  We all had during & after concert plans of action! I went without high expectations, didn't want to be dissapointed like 2 years ago.  But I went ready with a few plans, just in case! My review is coming up.............. then Diane & Eileen will follow.  They are being so nice, and for some reason waiting for me to be first!

Diane, I am getting the feeling that your "review" on the previous page is just the lead in to the ACTUAL review .....am I right ????    This is just getting so intriguing and I believe the three of you are getting worse than Mr. Bolton at being teasers but at the same time of wanting to know immediately what you are all hinting at, it is a pretty good feeling to know that there are some BOLTON ADVENTURES going to shared on here and I think real BIG Bolton Adventures too.......can't wait but will wait and will have to wait !!! lol.   Joy, what size should that cloud be and can any of us actually see it or, is it still spinning, in outer space ??????

3/2/2013 Harrah's Resort Casino Atlantic City, NJ
(I am posting a few photos here with my review as I am such a visual person, you all know that!! And also I am having issues posting my pictures in the "Gallery" I have not even been able to do my State Theatre pics from the Feb. show)

 

Well you all said you want details, so I hope you are ready! I must tell you this was by far my most exciting Bolton Adventure ever! OMG so much fun!! (Felt like I was in my 20's again!) I also did not go with great expectations of my plans working out. I didn't want to be disappointed like I was at a show two years ago. I went only thinking it was a weekend to see MB in concert, we had 2nd row seats, and I was with some great friends and we would have fun...........
I was excited to go to Harrah's in Atlantic City, NJ. Not being a gambler, I haven't been to AC in probably 20 years. I went with Eileen and Lee, both BB's on this site and Facebook. We have been planning this weekend for a long time now. We arrived Sat. about 4pm or so, planned to eat dinner, walk around the casino and then go to the show. We were all sharing a room the one night, and leaving about noon on Sunday. "Girls Weekend" We found out Joyce and Diane from NJ also BB's on here were going, so we planned out where we were sitting. Maybe if we were allowed up to the stage after WAMLAW, we would all rock out together at the stage!
Show started with a short version of recorded Go The Distance, then MB came on and didn't sing Soul Provider He went right to the stool by the piano, grabbed his guitar and started To Love Somebody. He did Dock of The Bay and a couple others sitting down. When he got up and handed the guitar off to a stage hand, he flicked the guitar pick out to the audience as usual. Well no one noticed, I think the lights flickered or changed colors or something. But no one in the first row where I thought it went moved like they were looking for it. Ah ha!! "Note to Self".....Later after the show, when the lights come on go over to that area in the first row and hunt for it!!
The set list was pretty much the same as the State Theatre Show I reviewed. You can look at the song list back on that review. MB was singing so well and looked great. Kelly was as pretty as ever, and she is so amazing also, I love her. The band got to do their usual solos, Michael Lington did a few songs on his sax, Cameron did two songs solo on the trumpet, Brian did I think one on the piano, and Nelson on bass and Ryan on guitar got to move up front a few times to show off how talented they are. Drew on drums, also excellent, but no solos. All were wonderful! The duet of The Prayer brought the house down, and got a standing ovation. Then MB did Nessun Dorma, also amazing as usual. The standing ovation after that was immediate from the audience. I am so addicted to hearing those two songs at shows. Love, love, love them.
Someone yelled Happy Birthday to Michael, and he said something about that being over, and no more birthdays any more, he's going to start going backwards. He made a lot of jokes throughout the night and was so relaxed and easy going. He announced he was honored that Valerie Simpson was in the audience, first I thought she was going to sing with him, but no he was just announcing her. Also he told us his lovely daughter Taryn was there but did not point her out. (We assume his Mother or other girls were not there, as he didn't mention them, and we didn't see any of them) We didn't see Taryn either, although we looked for her.
Why is it during casino shows you always have rude rowdy people? Oh yes, they are drinking! Well, we had one in the front row a bit over to our left. She got up and left a few time and came back. Bathroom or smoking breaks? OMG woman you are in the front row of a MB concert and you keep leaving? What is wrong with you? Then MB was about to start a song with Kelly and this woman was talking on her cell phone! How rude!! MB was already on the same side as her, he stepped a bit forward and leaned over and said "Tell them I'm not taking any calls right now, I'm busy!" For a few seconds she was oblivious, then she looked up and just left. Not sure if she said anything or not. As she left MB just waved to her and softly said, "Bah Bye" It was so funny.............
Michael did have the CD and the book at the stage and showed them and told us he would be outside after to sign them!! Woo hoo surprise #1!!!!
Stages at the casinos are very low and no room in front of the first row. No one got up after WAMLAW. Joyce was upstairs, I never saw her at all, but Eileen waved to her. I am sure she couldn't have gotten downstairs if they allowed it anyway. But all the sudden Diane was by our seats! She had a plan, which she will tell you about. So we got up and went to the stage. People in the first row started telling us to sit down as they couldn't see! So Lee sat in the first row in an empty seat......I went back to second row like a good little girl! Eileen and Diane stayed for Diane's mission. Then they sat at the end of the 2nd row for the rest of the show. So stupid me, I should have gone with Lee to the front row! Oh well, I am here having fun!! He did Sweet Home Chicago and rocked the house! Last song, TL&T everyone is rockin' it's great!! He leaves, standing ovation, he comes back out and does Georgia on the stool. Love it!!! House lights come up, it's over While I was sitting there for a few seconds, I remembered feeling something touch my knee at one point during the show and I forgot about it. I thought I dropped my earring back or something as it was a very light feeling on my knee. Nope, both earrings still there. So I look down on the floor, and what do I see????? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! The guitar pick he threw out had hit my knee! It didn't go to the first row after all! Wow, so here is my second surprise of the night! Woo hoo!!!

A nice couple who were waiting for a meet and greet took our picture in front of the stage. Joyce never did come down to meet us, but I am sure she had a good time at the show. Maybe she will do a review also.

So we all left to go get in line for the signing. Had to wait quite awhile as MB was at the meet and greets. But I also had to run up to the room. I did bring with me (just in case) my 8 X 10 glossy pic of Michael that I had from 2011 but didn't get signed. I didn't bring it to the show, as I had no idea he was going to do a signing, But I had it in 5 minutes! And then they told us he wouldn't sign anything but the books or CD's that you bought that night! Well, we'll see about that! I was going to try to sneak it to the table and ask, beg MB so ever nice to please sign it to me! I don't think he'd say no, I'd just have to get past the security people. The signing was done right outside the stage area among loud music, people walking by, rowdy people, and slot machines! The security had a lot to worry about, so I figured I might pull this off. Oh yes, I of course decided to buy a book as he was personalizing them! Oh yes, worth $25 to have him write my name inside the book! Of course I already have one signed book from the other book signing, a Kindle version and the CD version! Since the 8 X 10 was large of course they noticed it, but the guy was pretty nice. He told me if I got in the back of the line again I could have MB sign the photo. When I got up to him to sign my book, I told him it was my second book. He smiled and said "Well thank you very much" and winked at me! Sigh....... I went to the back of the line again, and it went pretty fast. He looked up and said "Joy again?" Yes it's me again! They told me you'd sign this if I got in line again, I've been trying to get it signed for a few years now. You had a band named Joy years ago!" "Oh yes, I did. That was a long time ago. Thank you so much." Oh it was wonderful................ So happy I got so many personal autographs and got to talk to him a little!! Surprise #3!!

 

We all had things signed, the others will give their reviews and tell you what they did. So we were all flying high on our Clouds acting like star struck teenagers!! We walked around the casino a bit, made plans to meet for breakfast the next morning. All the sudden we see everyone from the band (except MB) come walking towards us! We said hi to them, I think Eileen said something to one of them, maybe Cameron. She can tell you all. Then we saw Kelly, with her Mom & Dad walking by. We went up to her and said hello and how great the show was and started talking to her. Chatted with her for a few minutes, she was so nice. And we got our picture taken with her. I don't have it on my camera, so someone else will have to post it. But her Mom was handing out Kelly pins! Surprise #4 !!!
AMAZING NIGHT!! That's pretty much it, went upstairs talked for a long time................so excited by the adventures of the night we couldn't fall asleep. It was like a slumber party!! We met Diane (and her girlfriend, I forgot to mention she brought a friend for her first MB concert!) for breakfast on Sunday and left shortly after. Such a fun weekend and I am still floating on that cloud!

It makes me dream your stories, they are wonderful, you could get autographs, talk to him a little too huge and I love the history of the mobile phone. It is on this should exist, but so nice to live, you put very nice pictures, I'll say goodbye and thank you again

Hi Joy and thanks a million for my extended breakfast this morning and what a wonderful extended breakfast too, just fantastic !!! :)   So, so, so pleased for you that you finally got to really speak to the man himself and what a lovely way to be able to do it and what a lovely gesture for that security guard to make in telling you to go to the back of the queue again....that was super him doing that apart from it being super too for Michael to finally sign that picture......is it framed yet ???? LOL      Wonderful too your story about the guitar pick and so glad you retrieved that from the floor....in one of the videos that Robin gave the link to you see Michael flick the pick (hey, that rhymes !)but glad you got it !! :)

P.S.  Don't want to start a war but have just seen Katia's comment and mentioning the mobile phone but what I would ask on that was did she make the call or, did she receive it ?;  because if she received it she could have been someone on-call, doctor etc......only saying because I have been there, done that, worn the t-shirt....not me getting the call but with someone that did !!

My friend said that woman was on the phone all the time, getting about six calls and getting very loud.. Nothing serious, just talking!!!!!!

She tapped her and asked her to take the call outside, that woman then said stop touching her, then MB made his comments from the stage and she left..She was being totally rude, nothing else...My friend was sick of her and it was very annoying..You could not hear MB..

Robin in MD relaying what she was told about that lady.

P.S. The  videos are all of Chester tho-NOT A City..the flicking of the guitar pic was Chester in those!!LOL

Hi Robin MD.,

Glad your friend tapped her on the shoulder and helped end her annoying interruption to the concert, good for your friend!!!!! Sounds alot like the annoying woman in Branson who would not stop yelling at MB the entire concert. Hope that incident did not detour MB from returning to Branson again sometime because the audience loved him and it is a nice venue.
