Someone burned me orin's CD. His first ones are ok. Just because he's Michael's brother doesn't mean I'm a fan. he's in to that Jamaican stuff. No thanks. I still have to listen to his CD.

Lol Okay, this will be a wonderful afternoon delight for you tomorrow… I got you 2 versions. The first one is the one Silvy posted, from Kenny G’s live DVD:

Girlfriend, brace yourself: there’s an extra part in this one in the middle that you don’t need visuals for… Just close your eyes and it’s pure honey for your ears… I’ll tell ya, with that interpretation and cheesecake, who needs a man? Lol Woops, sorry about that! Lol I meant: uhm, it’s very nice, hope you enjoy it… :D Take care Helena and if you can’t listen to this at work with your colleagues watching you, save it for Saturday morning but do have a good time with your girlfriends tomorrow…Take care sweetie. Big hugs, sincerely, your nutty friend Sylvie
P.S.: Of course I have both versions! :D

helen, Yes, honey, I've met Michael. The last time I spoke with him was 9/14/09 at the golf reception afterwards. It was brief. I also accidentally saw him before he went to the golf event that day&I said, "Oh, I know that voice."&there he was. It was totally awesome. I don't have many pictures of me with Michael. Just between you&me about the pic though.

When in February is your birthday? Age is just a #.

Sorry you're not feeling well. Get well soon.

Ah! Honey!

Sorry you're not feeling well. Perhaps a good night's sleep will help.

There's a story behind that picture of me with Michael. There's this photo shop near the Hollywood Walk of Fame&there's a gazillion photos of celebrities&this guy took this picture of Michael&of me&did it on a computer to make it look like I was with Michael. I wish.

How old are you? I'm 61. Hope you don't mind my asking.

Robin

Thanks for the comment.

Hey Helena, well, I resemble that remark! lolOrrin has always been good to me and I know that he does appreciate the support, he thanked me profusely on his personal signature on my CD! :D Sweetie, whether Orrin responds or not, I know he appreciated your message. Girl, I’ll tell ya, over the past 9 years, I’ve written to him 74 times and he’s responded 14 times. Most often, I send him random messagesabout my thoughts, something I’ve heard etc and I don’t really expect him to respond, but at least he knows I’m thinking of him.  Oh yes I wish I could be there at his gig, but if I’m lucky, one of my friends will attend and I’ll get a report: fingers crossed. Fingers crossed for the 2 concerts for you too girl! Okay sweetie, gotta go but thanks for writing, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Helena, sweetie, you got me smiling from ear to ear, thank you! I read your review before your message, thank you so much for posting this and letting me know! Oh yes, do write to Orrin and I really hope he writes back, that was a great review and Orrin could use all the publicity he can get! It's a good thing you told me you were gonna write to him because I would have copied your review and sent it to him! lol A personal message is even better! Oh I'm sorry I sound like a total nutcase girl, but I know how much effort Orrin put into it and I've followed his hardships to get this album released so, I'm really glad he's getting recognition and publicity. Hope your review sells even more! All right, late enough, I'm out of here. Thanks again Helena, I really appreciate it, take care. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

There's a hotel not too far from the Taj Mahal called the pallace. Check in to that one. Ask Gail. She can tell you. I stayed there in November 2006&it was $36 plus tax for one night, ok?

Helena, I'm afraid I don't have anything anymore. I did help the fan in the Netherlands that made the calendars sell them but she hasn't made any over the past few years. Have you checkd ebay? Sometimes during tour time people will sell things there. Gail

Isn't it amazing how much one canhave in common? You're speaking about your brother with multiple disabilities. My middle brother has severe epilepsy, paralyzed on the right side&is profoundly retarded. he's been in group homes since 1981&was in Springfield State Hospital from 60 until 81. It's a psychiatric hospital&his issues are not psychiatric.

Thanks for telling me about your job. My dad died 11/18/99&mom died 5/10/07.

As you may know, I'm totally blind but it doesn't stop me that's for sure.

Yeah, it is neat being retired. I've seen Michael in concert many times. I've been on this rodio 18 years now. :D

I've been to New York in 1976, 2001,&2009&love it. Oops. I was there in 2003&2005. I saw Michael at the I think it's called Southfork Theater in Westbury. I took a cab to the train, got Amtrak, cab to visit friends, cab back to the train station&got a cab from the train to the holiday inn, one from there to&from the concert&then, after breakfast, the same routine back to Baltimore in 2005.

What kind of work do you do since you said you had to go back to lunch? Awesome. i used to be a switchboard operator&receptionist at the Maryland School for the Blind for 19 years&worked at SSA 8 years&have had several other jobs. I'd say I've worked 30 some years of my life&am now retired.

Take care.

Hi Helena, yeah thanks for posting your review of " Rock of ages”, good to know it does have a plot. Have you read the reviews of it? Just curious. Speaking of reviews, glad you read the MB Newark reviews and saw the videos! I wanted to post all the links to them because once, I trusted that a rare M&M’s commercial was on a page I’d saved but when I had time to check it, it was gone. It was a British commercial where Michael sang the jingle! I did find it again and put it on the “new videos” thread. Wow, sounds like you’ll have a lot of B-day planning to do! But isn’t it always about coordinating everyone being at the same place at the same time? :D Wow, milestone birthdays indeed: will you do something very special or you all like it to be informal? Good luck seeing the movies too: my girls are big Harry Potter fans and so is one of my friends. I’m afraid that trend has slipped by me… :D Oh so cool you got Orrin’s CD! Let me know what you think of his voice and his songs once you listen to it. Ah cute! Lol If you ever go see Orrin, you should wear that T-shirt! Lol Oh yes, I’m having a great weekend: woke up to “That’s what love is all about” on the radio this morning! It was on the “American Top 40 classic countdown” and I knew it was gonna play. It was Michael’s first appearance on the AT40 in the week of November 7 1987. I picked up a couple of CD’s and an audio book at the library and raked the yard this afternoon and had take-out so didn’t have to cook! I missed my opera on the radio but will remedy that with a DVD this week. Okay, I’ve rambled on long enough so let me get out of here, talk to you later sweetie, take care and thanks for writing. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Helena, how are you? Well I hope. So how was “Rock of ages”? Was it everything you thought it would be? Oops, I’ve just realized I’m a little late for your usual response time, it’s past lunch! Lol Ahh, that’s really too bad about Styx and Dennis being forced to leave. I loved his voice and own their greatest hits on CD and several 45’s. Also, Dennis sang a duet with this Quebec guy Eric Lapointe 3 years ago and it wasn’t bad, although I’m not an Eric Lapointe fan.

The song is called “100 years from now”. No, I didn’t know about Chuck. I can’t say that I’ve followed their career past the 80’s. Sorry to hear he’s HIV positive. Well Helena, write when you can, not much to report here, except you should definitely check the “2010 concert tour review” thread, there are a couple of whoppers in there since yesterday! Take care sweetie and have a great weekend! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hey Helena, thanks for your response girl, I enjoyed it very much! Ah memories… Well Helena, I have seen before because my sight has been dimming all my life, so it’s hard to say what details I actually saw. I do remember the “Welcome to Brooklyn” sign and the train passing, I even remember the opening credits of WBK, but some details escape me. Wow, if I’d been in your shoes, you don’t know what I would have done to try and see John Travolta! Lol Oh I drooled over him in “Saturday Night Fever”… Those beautiful baby blues… Oh I miss blue… lol You see girl, I’m geographically challenged,  but when you mentioned Bay Ridge, I remember John mentioning it in the movie. That is so amazing that this was your high-school and what are the odds you having the same birthday as him? Lol yeah I know when his birthday is: I have collected articles, posters etc, all in several albums and I’ve kept them, even though I can’t see them any more! Lol Yes I enjoy STYX and thought it was too bad when Dennis left. I don’t care for Larry Gowan, although I do know him, he’s Canadian. I love to hear accents and especially mimick them and even try to pick out from what region a Brit accent is from, like Yorkshire, Manchester, or London. I just love the Australian accent! Wow, this was a lot of fun! Thanks for writing Helena, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
