A few months ago Michael posted about being involved in and Andy Samberg project...well it is being released on May 10th and Michael is featured in a track entitled Jack Sparrow. Check out more info here:

Interesting, what do you think? I think they used Michael's personal car for the video!
Watch the video and pause it before they get out of the car. It looks the same to me.

Thanks a million Joy for finding and then for putting all of that in - wonderful to read.....I must too thank you for the lyrics because although I have listened to it 8 million times on YouTube (got to admit it has been me !) there was one word I could never get and it was "basehead" - I had something to do with baseball at the beginning of listening to but never basehead - I haven't heard the word before but I am presuming it is a derogatory word used in some way to describe a woman - am I kinda' going in the right direction ??? lol.
Also too agree with the article that it is a MICHAEL BOLTON song - he does carry it - for although you need the Lonely Island boys for the rap and for the link into each segment with Michael you could, just about, miss them out and it would still be a fantastic song - which it darn well is ....away to listen to it for the 8th million and one time.....it is just about up to that on my iTunes player for I love that as it has the repeat button and so now doing my housework, no more Chopin or Debussy, it is little Jack Sparrow !!! lol.

Yes it is derogatory and this song is derogatory to all women, it amazes me how you are praising men that talk about your own gender in this manner. We should be fighting against it not listening to it. I cannot understand Michael getting involved in something like this. His charity stands to help women and children at risk from poverty and abuse, this is against all it stands for. Is that what you want from a guy f... you twice. I remember Michael saying some time back how he hated songs where men referred to their girls as bitches. What happend Michael what changed your attitude. I'll stick to a guy that loves me and respects me, thank you.
I guess this will be deleted before it reaches many of your eyes, it always harder to be true to yourself than run with the crowd. But I am sure Michael would rather have the truth

I should like to say to you Jude that I can appreciate totally where your view is coming from on Michael's involvement in this song because you have given a complete explanation as to your point of view and, without doubt, I respect that totally, as too, I respect and admire you for coming on here and sharing your opinion with us - thank you Jude !! :)

I am not against Michael in any way Sylvia. I love him, always have done so, and always will. He knows that. Michael can record whatever he wants to, But as you know what I am trying to say is that these songs belittle women. The encourage certain types of men to abuse women and young girls. Fans can like what they want to like, but this kind of song must appeal to a certain kind of female and I'm glad I'm not one of them. The video itself is funny and the song is ok but if you have to go to these extremes of words to sell a song, then it's not worth it even if it is a send up. There are better ways of making money!

Jude we love you and as you said its your opinion which we all are entitled to.Jude has been on the forum for a very long time more than most people on here so i would never question how she feels about Michael.As i said Jude its your opinion and if we all felt the same about things it would make a very dull world.Love ya xxx

I had the album on pre-order. Not all of it is crude, Mic check is what it says, Japan is about getting the record company to pay for them to go there and Hawaii too. Turtleneck and chain is about wearing a turtleneck sweater with a thin chain whilst drinking a lite beer. Rocky is about picking a fight with the boxer and Threw It On The Ground is about not giving in to commercialism. Yes it's rude, crude and sitting on the edge but the point of a parody is to rip the mick out of subjects. Hip Hop and Rap are nothing compared to the likes of Shabba Ranks and other ragga artists, who are truely vile, but all of those songs are about degrading women and being arrogantly macho. I don't think MiBo is a sell- out I just think that he is more relaxed now that he no longer maintains the wall between himself an his fans. Everyone has they're own taste I really like the whole album but I wouldn't play in front of most people I know because I respect their boundaries.
DO NOT BUY ANY VERSION OF THIS ALBUM I YOU DON'T LIKE RUDE SONGS IN ANY CONTEXT!
Respect to Jude and Jimmy for being honest and kicking ass on the subject even though they thought it might get wiped. I get grief for being straight so to have the straight talking group expanding means I'm not alone :)

Jude, I join with you on this. I love the video, love the song, but hate some of the lyrics and to what they infer and imply. I love Michael no matter what too.
We all make choices in life and not all of them will be accepted or understood by our peers, but sometimes we have to do what we feel is right at the time knowing full well that it might upset somebody along the way. Thats how I felt about Michael doing this project. I may not have liked it much, but I understand why he's done it and I forgive him and still love him despite. I'm guessing this is how you feel too Jude?
I am surmising here that when Michael told you that he hated songs that refer to 'women as bitches', he didnt anticipate he'd ever have to compete so feircely in todays music market trends for a new younger audience. (although I fail to see what is wrong with us oldies? Why does he need more younger fans when we should be enough? But hey, thats another topic!)
It is a sad fact that we all change our beliefs and values as we go through life. I wouldnt mind betting that he may be a little regretful at the content of the song, and will probably have wrestled with his conscience over saying the Foof' word too. After all he did say that he sent the lyrics back several times as they were to explicit didnt he? Ha Ha! I can imagine his face when he saw the mfor the first time!!
The trouble is, 'we' as older fans settle in with our gentle, but passionate songs, but this is what the younger generation and music fans want to hear. (Goodness only knows why they would want to hear songs about Mother Foofers and drug addicts etc is totally beyond my comprehension??) Am I showing my age?? Crikey I'm 50 next month!! *Gulp*Gulp*
I was talking to my sons friend today and he knows The Lonely Island guys very well and has some all of their previous work. He reckons that this album is tame (Say what??) by comparrison?? *Gulp* Even with my very broad mind and the life experiences I've had, I will not dare to venture into these albums!! No way, I'm just not brave enough!!
I hold my hands up to admit that I do say the 'odd' swear word and have even said the 'Foof' word too, but never actually directed at anyone. Its usually when I do something stupid indoors, (like falling over!!) and even I am shocked by some of lyrical content of this album. Phew!! I actually blushed hearing some of the songs!!
You know I love you to bits Jude and totally respect any oppinions that you feel you want to share with us all. It's always great to see your name here. I appreciate that you would know and understand Michael on a more intimate level than most of us.
I am delighted to see you posting on here again. Please, dont be such a stranger. I hope all is as well with you as can be expected?

The point of their songs is to show just how stupid some so called hits are! It's like Josh Groban on Never Mind The Buzzcocks or Michael Buble who openly swears on tv and during gigs but people still call them lovely lads because of the genre they sing. It is very much a generation thing as much as individual taste coz I don't see the point in Sascha Baron Cohen and Russell Brand - apparently they're funny?!?

I am not against Michael either Jude. I have told Michael personally with a hand shake even that I loved his music and he said thank you very much! I'm sure I have disappointed people along the way but never want to again. I love you for your beliefs about this one song of Michael's as mine are the same too. We are not dull because there are millions like us as they are 8 millon that are not. My wife says I act like I am married to him but thats not the case, I love Michael's singing is all. When you stand up for women or whats right that is how others in the world will precieve you as dull or politcally incorrect Today views are very different good is bad and bad is good. I know his Gems and deluxe CD will be great music.
