I thought you might like to see my new parrot

This is Bailey. She's 2 year old Afdrican Grey Congo parrot. I rehomed her from a rescue centre 2 weeks ago. She is absolutely adorable and she is already well and truly settled in in our home.

She speaks loads too. " Be quiet Bailey, Sssh, Bailey, Been a good boy Bailey have you been a good girl, dont bite, please dont bite, ouch, ouch ouch, step up, get on your perch, going to the shops, wont be long.....

She says so many things and whistles all the time. She's even started barking like my dogs, meows, honks like a pig and then says 'honk like a pig' and she immitates a cockeral..its hilarious.

I'll try and post a video of her talking. Its spooky, it doesnt sound like a bird, she sounds like a grumpy old man!!

Welcome Bailey I'm sure you have found a wonderful new home with Jennifer and the guys :)

I would love to watch her talk.

Our budgie he died a couple of months ago now (he was 16 years old) he use to say Puss Puss, here Puss Puss and "He's a pretty bot" but that's about all he said but he had a good life.

Jennifer,

She is so pretty! So nice to rescue animals. We have had 7 rescue dogs and cats over the last couple of years. My daughter is a vet technician so lots of pets come into our life. Also I have done volunteer work with feral cats.

I have heard these type of parrots talk, they sound human. It is a big responsibility though, they can live to be over 50 years old! Good luck with her.

Aw she is lovely and very lucky to have found a home with you, looks like she is happy and content. We had an African Grey called Harvey, he said loads too. When the children were small he used to call them in the morning "time to get up, hurry up" and "get your shoes". He made the sound of the phone, which used to confuse me all the time. He loved sitting in the garden on a warm day and having a mist of water sprayed over him. Enjoy her, i'm sure she will bring hours of fun.
