HIGH CUDDLEFACTOR:

Already in the beginning of his 2-hourlong concerts in the sold out open air-arena on the Mercedes Benz museums,Bolton flirts fully self-aware of(with)his image.Casually cool, sitting on a barchair he starts with the evergreen"to love somebody" unpretentiously, and with Otis Redding's "sitting on the dock of a bay,and "said I loved you,"he continues with an incredibly soulful and heart-softening"desire-rag".This is big, almost steamy, tearjerking cinema, which is even intensified with Bolton's soft,velvety-smokey(that's right Mr.Weiss, wonderful, extraordinary, beautiful, unique, inimitable)voice, goose bump-feeling included.

The Prince charming sprinkles then again and again this easy -listening pop with high cuddle-factor,with also his biggest hit"how am I supposed to live without you)-this sensual ballad, which he wrote 1983 for Laura Branigan and which has changed his life.

In front of the meanwhile nicely -lit museums-backdrop Bolton celebrates this hit together with special guest Helene Fischer.the 26-year old popstar is then also allowed to sing Bob Dylan's ballad"to make you feel my love"as well as "the Prayer"-written by Canadian songwriter and producer David Foster.Voice-wise Fischer almost steals Bolton's show.Sensitive, and full of pathos the German/American Duo of the Extra-class  platonically kisses  music intensly-throughout the finely updated to the present standard and spirit of the "now"(Zeitgeist)

It is this one of a few highlights of the concert in a perfect setting. There could not have been a better replacement for the cancelled  December-concert in the Liederhalle. But the down to earth, and immensely symphathetic music-award-winner can not only do cover-versions of romantic trash.

From blues(Sweet home Chicago) to the classical, and from rock to swing-the Michael Bolotin by birth takes us effortlessly through many musical styles.Refreshing and dynamic, groovy and always with a tad of melancholy."Hope it's too late",sadly the only piece from his current, good album"one world, one love" is a  nice ,mid-tempo ballad, while "you don't know me" is interpreted as a jazzy, airy hotel-lounge-number.Frank Sinatra's "that's life"from the album "Bolton swings Sinatra"(2006)comes across swingy, and slightly glamorous-dressed up in a Big Band-sound.-and Bolton interprets Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" in his very own, impressive way which is of course no comparison to Paul Pott's version of the song.

With the U2 classic"Pride" he lacks Bono's voice (custom)made for such hyms by lightyears. But not many of the fans notice this. They clap enthusiastically through all his hits, which Bolton places as neatly as pearls on a string(possibly a reference to Sandie Shaw's barefoot Eurovision songcontest-entry:puppet on a string? Ang))

When he presents the grammy-award-winning"when a man loves a woman" in the midst of the audience and shakes hands -like Kevin Costner did once upon in the Liederhalle, all floodgates open.

NATIVE AMERICAN ENTERTAINMENT(or ALL AMERICAN ENTERTAINMENT)

it is just purely-native(or all)American entertainment which plays on those hughe feelings-but Bolton, casually strutting his stuff in denims, black shirt and transmitter in the ear seems-in moments like these- to pull on the tenderness-heartstrings of even the most carefully earthed(as the earth in electric,Ang) women.-in spite of his 58 years, which truthfully don't show.Timing, craft and mood are well suited with Bolton  as well as with his good band where saxophone-player Michael Lington excels.

The very relaxed athmosphere transforms with the break of dawn to an almost family-like club concert, and particularily the ladies in the audience dare to go further in front towards the stage.

With 3 en-cores Bolton discharges  the audience into a mild and romantically charged summer-night.

"Georgia on my mind" sung whole-heartedly in a  fascinating, original, magical version is a true love-declaration.

In contrast to it he  fabric-softens after "Pride" his "Halleluja" to almost unbearable softness.

But Michael Bolton is allowed to do that. This Charmer is forgiven everything. One's heart opens.Michael Bolton duets himself(as in decorates himself) with Helene Fischer. Pictures:Opus

I just typed the article in now-while correct-reading and editing slight typing mistakes  I am at that same point like yesterday with the first chunk I wrote today, where it tells me:saving. If this is lost now again I go ballistic-I don't know how to transmit the going ballistic then in that case,as again- I have to leave the computer now and cannot  again write that part now. As I translated this at home, handwritten on paper,I can do that maybe later. Iam very glad, that i wrote, smaller, shorter chunks, otherwise all would have been lost again. However-this is the translation of the article.
...as I can see-it is still .."saving" the first part, and since what was "saved"yesterday is lost I assume that once I leave the computer now it will be lost again, but I also think that there is something wrong with the editing function,as it still says"saving" 1 second, but it is a few minutes ago.
PEOPLE,IT'S HERE NOW,but it did not acknowledge the changes I made,so sorry if there are slight imperfections

Oh my gosh, Angelica! How can I ever thank you enough for this translation!! For me that article is just SUBERB now, as I'm trying to get an invitation (Michael did asked me to do so, he said: Carry on your job, lol!)!!) for Michael...to Finland! I feel this article is like a piece of cold for me...now those 'show-business' men/women in Finland need to understand, that Michael's concert in Helsinki will be SOLD UP!!!! I'm gonna print this article and Your translation (I hope you don't mind 'stealing' it) and show it to them!!!

So, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Angelica!!! You can't understand how big favor You did for me and all the other fans in HOLE SCANDINAVIA!!! If I can't get Michael to Finland, at least then to Sweden-Stocholm, as there lives many fans of Michaels...from Finland, and Stocholm is much bigger city than Helsinki, but so easy for us to travel there!!!

Jaana, hello! You know -this translation is only 1 out of many newspaper-cuts and I personally think that it is not suitable on its own for promotional purposes.I am certain that everywhere Michael plays a concert there will be a local newspaper's music-critic sitting in and write a review in the local paper.I translated this one, because Gail put it out there and asked for someone to translate it-so-as my native language is German-I did that.Obviously I cannot stop anyone  from doing what they will-which means  in that case that what each critic writes is just what they do and if you use this piece of writing-which I translated- for promotional purposes it's obviously nothing to do with me either, whether I find it to be good or not good.

But apart from that-as far as I understand it,the European version of Duets is almost half of it duetted with Helene Fischer, who is a big star in her own field in the German spoken territories, and with this album   I believe another album will follow in rather quick succession which will again feature Helene Fischer prominently,so that there is enough material gathered which they have together to hopefully for the artists and their tourpromoters  to  walk in fields of gold  in Europe and America to keep folks happy everywhere. And who knows:if MB sings already additionally  in Italien and Hindi what could possibly prevent him from singing a folksong  in finnish, danish or swedish?-like i.e. Elvis's wooden heart?

So-I am shure,we will soon hear more promotional ideas and see more such activities.I wouldn't worry too much.Hold on-Michael Bolton is coming to a town near you-which in your case is ..Helsinki ?
