Hi all, going walkabout on YouTube, I’ve just found this song, which I think is one of the sweetest songs ever. It’s called: “You loved me into it” by Olivia Newton-John and her daughter. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi all, this week has been pretty grey on the Canadian East Coast so I’ve had to make my own sunshine with music… :D Today, the planets seemed to be aligned perfectly to have a great radio listening morning so I rode the wave! The only thing missing was Michael… ;D Anyway, today I want to share this cotton candy piece I hear on my French pop radio. It’s called “French Cancan, Monsieur Sainte-Nitouche” by Inna Modja and it’s half French half English. It has a  Spice Girls “Stop” type of beat and it’s the kind of cute catchy little fluff I enjoy from time to time:

Hope you enjoy it too. Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hey Diane, nice to have you around this thread! Thanks for sharing your song, I will pass it along to  a fanilow I know! :D Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvie, It's good to hear from you and of course, to see the lovely pic of yourself and Orrin :)

I haven't been on the website for a few months, I hope it was okay to post here.  I noticed you were posting links, the last one ... what a pretty girl and a great song & video.   Thank you :)

In keeping with this thread, I'm listening to 'Stay By Me' by Annie Lennox.   I do pick the strangest songs at times, but this has a great beat and use of the simplest instruments.

Hugs from di

Hey Diane, thank you so much for sharing this song: it was really nice! Where have you heard it, does it play on Scottish radio? Just curious. I can’t say I’m an unconditional Annie Lennox fan but I love her voice on certain songs. Yes I do post links because I find that not everyone has the time to go fishing for links so it’s fun to take 3 minutes and just click on a link to hear a suggestion. Last year, a fan started a thread to discuss  songs fans would love for Michael to cover and through links, I've discovered many interesting songs and artists:

Anyway, it’s perfectly fine for you to post here sweetie, that’s what the thread is for. Glad you enjoyed what I’ve posted! I figured you hadn’t been on because you were still learning to negociate the site. In any case, it was great reading your post! :D Okay, while I’m here, I might as well share another song. This one is one of my favorites from John Mayer and it’s called “Stop this train” from his album “Continuum”:

He doesn’t have the greatest range, but there’s something sweet about his voice and delivery and I just love his songwriting. I was so happy when Michael mentioned last year that he had reached out to him for a collaboration! Of course, who knows when that’ll happen but I thought it was great news anyway. Okay, I’ve rambled on long enough, hope you guys enjoy the song. Take care Diane and don’t be a stranger! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvie,

Firstly, for anyone other than Sylvie *smile*, wanting to hear 'Stay By Me' (Annie Lennox) this is hopefully the link ...

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TG3SzNuI-w

I'm not an avid fan of Annie, but there are some songs I will always like and just a few that will always be brilliant to me. I don't listen to the radio now, perhaps because of my lifestyle, but sometimes I'll be visiting someone and hear an Artist or a song that takes my interest and follow it up. Haven't done that in a long time though!

I tried the link for songs fans would love Michael to cover but it keeps saying 'Page Not Found'. It's difficult to imagine Michael singing a song I've heard by another Artist. Interesting thought. But I've heard Rod Stewart covering other people's songs and found myself wishing he'd just stop! :)  That's just one example though. Perhaps if Michael could bring his own unique talents to the song it would be worth it.

I see what you mean about John Mayer and his range, although it suits him, if that makes sense. Thank you for the link, I love an acoustic guitar :)  What a soft voice, smooth maybe - yes, I can imagine if he and Michael got together they could come up with something very interesting :)  I hope they do.

Okay, now I don't have the link for what I'm listening to now but it's just one of so very many of my favourites by this Artist  ....

'I Need You To Fall' .... Michael Bolton ... love it!!!!

Sorry for rambling, maybe we should start a thread for ramblers? :D

This is a ps.to my comment above  ....

Before any Rod Stewart fans are offended, he admitted himself that there were some songs he just wasn't meant to do and the one I was referring to was one of the ones he mentioned!

Apologies for not mentioning that.

Hi again Diane, well I can understand you not listening to the radio if it doesn’t fit into your routine. I mostly  listen to pop radio in the morning for the need-to-know basics but classical for the rest of the day. Okay sweetie, I’ve recopied the link, see if this one works:

http://www.michaelbolton.com/forum/topics/songs-i-would-love-michae...

It’s been a good while since I’ve listened to anything new by Rod Stewart but he has done  a few really nice covers, mostly in the 90’s. A friend recommended his version of “I’ll stand by you” and I really loved it! He’s also done many good soul covers. Girl, I have to say that I’ve always found our Michael to make any cover song his own: I find it so strange now to listen to U2’s “Pride”... One of my favourite covers by Michael might surprise you: it’s “Ain’t no sunshine”, I just love what he did with it! Oh I do hope Michael and John Mayer collaborate. I was under the impression that Michael would want to either have a songwriting collaboration with John or use his guitar playing skills for the elusive blues album, but that’s just speculation on my part. Oh I love an acoustic guitar too. Heehee, funny you mention “Need you to fall” because it’s one of my favourites on OWOL too because it sounds like John Mayer’s style to me... Oh boy, that’s not rambling Diane: if you want rambling, find your wee compatriot and you’ll get it! Lol Hmm, out of curiosity, may I ask what song Rod thought he shouldn’t have done? Just wondering. Okay, I’m out but it was great talking with you Diane, take care sweetie. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hey Sylvie,

Michael could sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and it would be a masterpiece:)! LOL!  But really truthfully I love any song that he sings:)! And that's what I yelled up to him when I saw him (then I ducked) LOL....he Thanked me!

"Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay"...I love that song, especially when he's singing it:)! I could go on & on!

So where did you hear that he & John Mayer may be collaborating? You know that would be just Awesome:)!

Mary (M&M's)!

Hiya Mary, you're too cute! lol Stand up for your beliefs girl! lol Well, about John Mayer, I know for a fact that Michael said he "reached out to John Mayer for a collaboration" in an interview and it might have even been on the "live at the RAH" DVD. It struck me because I love John Mayer, I think I have all his CD's, including the John Mayer Trio. I guess time will tell. Take care Mary. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Don't contribute much on here but I do follow...I am a wee lurker...and Sylvie Diane knows all about my "ramblings" for even her ears get sore reading my tomes !!! LOL.

Tried to transfer a link over from youtube but something has gone wrong got changed or something because I am finding it impossible to do now...it allows me to copy but I can't paste codes but, in any case, what I was trying to transfer was a version of "Bring Him Home" by Ingvar Estrada - just another voice I adore and, in case you have never heard him, wanted to share !! :)

Sylvia.  Your wee Scottish friend.
