Hi everyone,

I think enough of us are watching American Idol (AI) to make this thread worthwhile. So I am taking Sylvie from Canada's suggestion to move it from New Tour Reviews 2011 and give it it's own thread here in Off Topic. Since tonight starts the top 11 voting, it's getting interesting and a good time to start talking about it.

I have been a fan since it started 10 years ago. Hard to believe it's been on that long, not many TV shows last that long. So to anyone watching: "who is your favorite?"

Hi Sylvie,

Believe it or not, I still use AOL for email!  I just know it inside and out.  Everytime I try to switch over to gmail or comcast it takes me so long to figure it out I just keep going back to AOL.  So anyway this "click here" must be an AOL thing.  When you want to save something to a favorite or send it in an email as a link you just click on the heart icon on the top of the page and it automatically does it for you.  Cool huh? I know AOL is so old school, but sometimes I hate change so I just stay with it.

Thanks for the explaination Joy. You see, I've noticed that some people even have a completely other title to a link and I thought it was something you could fix, kind of like when you rename a document. Ok all I can say is, I really like P. Phillip's...he's the whole pkg.:)! But I really like the others, too! So this is really getting to be hard!

He said it was his favourite worship song, “Everything” by Lifehouse, I love this song... If there's anything else you're missing, let me know. The contestants were  very emotional last night. I still think Skylar did a great job with her song and is there anything more we can say about Jessica? Thanks Sylvie!!! My son loves that group Lifehouse and the song. I got 2 phone calls during the show!!!! Yipes....just when you want to see a show and sit down and settle in....and you get a phone call...lol  Colton did a beautiful job!!! I am with you about Jessica taking this season!!!

Hey Kathy, Lifehouse has a great sound, my daughter likes them too and I loved their first album. Hello and welcome Lady Berlin!
I understand how you feel about the idea behind The Voice, I have only watched that show in the states once. I like the idea also of the judges not being able to "see" the singers. They should not be making opinions on anything but the voice. American Idol is not to bad in that respect, quite a few have gotten up to the top 10 who were quite overweight, not attractive like models etc. I do love that clip from Britain Got Talent, that boy Jonathan is amazing!! And his size will not hold him back, his voice is a true gift.

Hi Lady Berlin, I’m really sorry to hear that things are so bad in Germany for talent shows. I’ve watched “The voice” too because I loved the concept, but I think I’ve grown accustomed to the “American Idol” format so I’m sticking  to it. Plus, as Joy says, many unconventional-looking artists have made it so I feel it’s not an issue. I don’t even watch “Canadian Idol”, because I find that I get attached to the contestants and get very disappointed when they have to go so one series is enough for me.
