2012 TOUR REVIEW THREAD-PLEASE SHARE YOUR 2012 MB CONCERT ADVENTURES WITH US HERE!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE, Since the 2011 Tour Review Thread is not playing nice and throwing us all back to the beginning lately, Gail asked if I would go ahead and start the 2012 thread. So here it is.. We can all share our excitement for Michael's upcoming touring and events in 2012 and chat and have fun here till the shows start in 2012.

Everyone is welcome to post and share their stories and pictures, videos from concerts and trips to see Michael do what he does best-SING!!!   Michael will be touring in 2012 starting so far with some shows the end of January.  There could be other events sooner too so if anyone attends a great Bolton event/concert, feel free to share your experience here.  I hope to have a review after the Chester, PA show on January 28th along with some other fans that have gotten tickets for that show and  the Atlantic City, NJ show on January 27th as well!  After that there are shows in Australia so far listed for 2012.  Following those shows we have the Concert for MBC and Traveler's Golf Event in June, 2012 and later on the MBC Gala in Sept.. We already have some exciting events to look forward to next year and I know there will be much more to come.

I am looking forward to another fun year of posts and sharing by the best Michael Bolton fans in the world on this forum.. I will post events to keep the thread moving along as the concerts come up as before.

Welcome everyone!!!!!

Hi Bob's Kathy,

You did the right thing in Palmade, CA., that is the only way to change the way the venues and how their security people handle themselves in regarding MB's wishes at his concerts. As well, we as his fans have to respect what is currently taking place in order to protect ourselves, others present and keep Michael's concerts in good standing so we do not lose the privilege of having him to continue his performances for us. This is one fans opinion and feelings regarding this issue that I have wanted to express. At the concert in Norman I asked security before the concert what was allowed and I honored those wishes, same in Branson. I know as much as anyone how very hard that is to do. MB walked within a foot of me, twice, in Norman last month, ladies, not to jump up out of my seat and hug him was one of the hardest things I HAD to do at the concert in Norman last month. I hope to get that chance someday yet. I am currently at an MB concert by the way, in my living room at home watching RAH. NO, we never get enough do we?
Thanks, Kathy, I used your comment here to let mine be known. By the way, are you attending the Newport Beach concert on August 3rd, hope you are able to.

Best Wishes To All
Kathy in Tulsa, OK

Thanks Gail, I thought same thing..Nice of MB to put this out there so the fans know it wasn't his policy.

Hi Gail,

thanks for the clarification. I didn't believe for a second the security's claim, that MB himself instructed them to avert taking photos.

Best wishes from Germany

Astrid

Tine, thanks ever so much for your view. Love your honesty. Yeah, folks complained about Michael singing Frank Sinatra. Why should Kelly sing? She's not onGems, is she? Sorry but i agree. I realize Michael's promoting Gems. but still. Also, I hear Michael Lington's opening for Michael in Newport Beach. Wow! I prefer Kenny Gee over Michael (though, no doubt, he's a kind person) & I'm not even a kenny Gee fan. I do understand promoting Michael, I really. Here! here! About Chris Camozzi. I'm sure the band members are kind & do well but there will never be like the original band--Joey melotti, Mugs, Chris, janis & so forth but that's just me & JMO. Sorry for sounding negative but honest. I go to Michael's show to see & hear Michael--not a gazillion other singers. :)))))))) boltonnut who loves life & Michael Bolton

hi christine

reading your report on the concert is some what right .the security were a pain and said it was at michaels request no pictures were taken which like i said would be a first .but overall i think the venue was a beautiful place and the sound was great and i think michael lingtons solos are great he is a very great sax player .i also agree with HAISTLWY this song i always sing to . which michael probably wishes i didnt lol .this should be sung just by michael there just is no other voice you should hear on that one .but what made me come on here was a few of your comments one is michaels hair i thought you were frankly quiet how can i put it umm rude .i for one love michaels hair how ever he has it .i would love to see it long again but hey thats life . two as for dock of the bay ,when a man loves a women and steels bars these are songs people still want to hear and saying that bob dylan probably dont remember writing this with michael is a bit out of order dont you think .and third michael lazy OK yes michael did look tired but have you thought about what grawling schedule he probably has everyday that everyone else takes for granted as long as hes on the stage no else thinks of his other commitments and a family life as well.sorry if this upsets but please choose your words more carefully

First, thanks Gail for clarification here. I know I don't always express myself right & sometimes my view's too honest & perhaps blunt but I hate it when folks are treated cruelly. It's unconscionable. Against my grain but I'm glad despite it all, of course, his concert was awesome. :) Boltonnut from L. A. CA who loves life & Michael Bolton :)

Long time no see, Helen. Thanks for your views. Boltonnut from L. A. CA who loves Michael Bolton & life. :)

Hello BB’s, welcome „Back To The Good Part” !!!

Copenhagen was my 5th MB concert. So I was able to experience several times what a lot of MB-Fans all over the world probably will never experience at all. I have been blessed with four fabulous concerts in a row which made me fly high on cloud 9 for many days, even weeks. Looking at all these challenges this 5th concert provided, I decided this one to be a reminder in my heart and soul that nothing is guaranteed and how lucky and blessed I have already been.

I traveled to Copenhagen to hear MB perform live – and I received what I was looking for. Even though I didn’t manage to become one with the flow this time, I was able to collect a number of precious moments, and for me, that’s “All that matters”.

Unlike the Danish press review, posted by Eva and Sylvia a few pages ago, I didn’t feel that MB and his band needed a few numbers to get started. Maybe I was blown away realizing that MB started with “Lean on me”, but, for me, the concert couldn’t have had a better “take off” than this. MB’s voice was powerful, warm and present in lower and higher notes. Maybe the audience wasn’t used to “BB’s behavior”,  yet, as far as I am concerned, I still think he had all of us, not only Pink Ladies, but the majority of the audience too, in the palm of his hand right from the beginning.

MB announced to make all the noise we would like to – unfortunately he didn’t say a word about taking photos – and continued with “Soul Provider”. I felt all daily struggles disappear and took "a deep breath to enjoy the ride" until … I felt that hard knock of a finger tip of iron on my left shoulder for the first time. Oh well, there was a certain device in my hand which was recording …. tstststs ….

I tried my best to focus on MB’s voice and – like catching a lifeline – felt like being carried from song to song. TLS’s pain, DOTB’s almost meditative rhythm and SILYBIL’s tenderness with “that” particular phrasing at the end – all worth coming along this far ... and so MB soothed my impulses to leave untimely.

I love MB performing “Hope it’s too late”. From my perspective the playful lyrics ease his seriousness, the bright piano contrasts MB’s lower register. . very seductive ….  LOL. Sweet home Chicago – everyone on stage and also the audience seemed to have a great time, such powerful and energetic vibration. Time to jump and dance, if only…

Michael Lington’s 1st solo followed organically. He seemed to play his heart out performing in his hometown and his enthusiastic reception was well deserved. I really like the way he plays his saxophone.

Then MB continued with “That’s life”, my favorite song of his Frank Sinatra album.  Christine encouraged herself and threw one of her pink balloons to the stage. After a little intermezzo MB received it, read Christine’s writing on it and threw it back to the audience. Several times it flew back and forth within the audience, and miraculously was neither confiscated nor destroyed. Actually, after the concert we saw some folks taking it with them … LOL.

“The Prayer”, one of MB’s duets with Kelly Levesque, earned the audiences’ standing ovation as well “Nessun Dorma”. When I heard Brian and Cameron intoning ”You are so beautiful” I so hoped MB would perform this one too, but it turned out to be the opener/ bridge to “WAMLAW”, which kept the audience on their feet as well as “HCWBL”, “Steel Bars” and “TL&T”. It could have been the flow I was longing for, if only – oh these knockings on my shoulder …

A man even shouted for “Everybody’s crazy” which caused laughter and MB also laughed – and agreed. LOL. I can’t recall what MB said, when this man shouted for Jack Sparrow. Maybe someone else remembers…

“Georgia” ’s blues tempo, the 1st encore, brought most of the audience to their  seats again, besides a few obstinate Pink Ladies who stayed at the left edge of the stage. “Pride” closed the show and MB had the whole audience on their feet again and cheering as we all know and love it.

The crew’s brief final bows came (too) soon. It was tough to realize that the concert was completed. Time flew by so quickly and I left the venue with an indescribable feeling. Somehow I felt grateful for having attended, but somehow sad too.

The next day Christine and I tried to visit Copenhagen, but it rained cats and dogs until the early afternoon. So we spent our time hanging around in shops and Cafés, in wet clothes – brrr – yet, quite appropriate to our personal blues. But then the sun beat clouds and rain and we had a great afternoon meeting the famous “Mermaid” at Copenhagen’s shore. The next day we had a fantastic boat trip through Copenhagen. The Danes have been very kind and patient answering and explaining all kinds of “tourist’s questions” and I left Copenhagen in a peaceful state of mind and - - - with a sunburn LOL.

Well, this was Copenhagen from my perspective. For hours, I haven’t been successful to upload something for you. I will try again tomorrow.

Best wishes from Germany

Astrid

Hi Astrid,

Thank you so very much, what a beautiful review, I am so glad you shared your moments with us. I suspect now since MB did not announce photos were okay that there may have been a venue establishment reason for that. The balloon story made me smile, and as well many things you wrote about your experiences in the city. So very glad you did enjoy your concert and sightseeing of the city.

Kathy in Tulsa :-)

I loved to share it! Best wishes, Astrid

Oh what a lovely review Astrid and so glad that in amongst the disappointment there definitely were those precious memories to treasure forever.....they are what always last !! :)    I too, like Kathy T, love the story of the balloon and no wonder someone was anxious to keep that and take it home .....what a memento but just hope the different atmosphere when they walked outside didn't cause it to burst....ever the pessimist, me  !! lol.    Thanks for a lovely review Astrid and the MB Team have said that new dates are to be announced so you never know maybe concert number 6 will be coming up !!! :)))))

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friend.
