As I understand you.

I have been a fan for over 20 years and have enjoyed seeing Michael live in concert many times. The concert in Las Vegas was AMAZING! Michael just seems to get better with age. However, I do have an issue, which maybe can be resolved for others in the future.

I was soooooo excited to be able to snag the CENTER seat in the front row of the hall. After 20 years of attending MB concerts, it was like a dream come true, but to my dismay, that was probably the worst seat in the house that night. The teleprompter was directly in front of my seat and obstructed my view of most of the activity at the center of the stage. So for much of the concert, I was only able to see the top of Michael's head. Perhaps it was just a problem with that particular venue, but it was a real disappointment after all the months of anticipation.( Had I known this was going to be the case, I would not have chosen that particular seat.) I tried talking to the theater manager during a break, when Michael was off stage, but she said all she could do was give me tickets to another show at that theater, with better seats. ( I guess she wasn't understanding the importance of this particular concert to me.)

So maybe we can get this message to the tech crew or someone who can fix this issue if there happens to be a similar situation at another venue in the future.  After all, part of the fun is watching Michael do what we all know he does so well.

Thanks for letting me vent, friends!!!

And again, Michael, you are INCREDIBLE!!!!

Paula

OK Robin,

I hope I got this in the right  place now. Thanks for letting me know.

Any way, yes, the stage was elevated pretty high. At least it seemed like it to me.

So, hopefully, they can fix the problem in the future.

No, I didn't take the other tickets that the theater manager offered me. I guess I was so frustrated at the time, that I didn't even think about it.

But all is well. At least I got to "vent" my frustrations.

Thanks ladies!

I hope to stay in touch!

Paula

Thanks Paula for posting here.. Sorry again the monitor was in the way some for you but at least MB isn't at center stage the entire show.. So glad you had a great time despite that.. Thanks for coming in and sharing your review with us!!

I hope to read some more here soon.

Hey Paula, that's okay, you're fairly new here and  didn't know. Feel free to check out other discussions and if you need help finding stuff, let us know. :D Take care sweetie and thanks again for sharing. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada

Thanks Paula for you review and glad you did enjoy the show even although your seat turned out not to be the great one you thought and a pity they couldn't have offered you a different seat for I don't believe the venue was a sell out.   Only good think is next time Michael plays there and you get to go you know which seat NOT to go for !!!! lol.

Hi Paula and welcome! I was at the concert and yes it was a tall stage. I walked up to it before the concert started to check my height with the stage and it was just below my shoulders and I could rest my arms on the stage. I attended MB's concert there a couple of years back and they had the same stage. There was a lot of "stuff" on the stage in the very middle. Don't know why the stage is so high :/  But I have been to other concerts with high stages and some with very low stages. My seat was 2 seats from the aisle in the second row center so I did have a less obstructed view. I have had front row seats before that were right in front of HUGE speakers so I know how disappointing that is! Hopefully you still saw Michael often enough as he works the full stage :) Thanks for posting your review!!

Kathy and LAFD Bob

Yeah, the stage was about up to my neck, I reached my hand out but not real far but oh! well!

Paula, I'm truly sorry you had the obstructive view. Cool you were @ the concert&welcome to the forum. Yeah, I was up @ the stage but it is high&I'm short. I'm glad you enjoyed the show despite the seating situation.

Helloooooo ladies :) I thought I had better post my review before my foggy memory takes over!!!! Enjoy!!!

Michael Bolton Concert in Las Vegas at the Eastside Cannery Casino on June 1, 2013

Give me an M, give me an I, give me a C, give me an H, give me an A, give me an E, give me an L and what does that spell???? A rockin' and rollin' SUPERB Michael Bolton concert!!!!! Wow!!! It was 107* outside and Michael created an inferno inside!! He gave his all as did each of the band members. Knowing smiles were shared all across the stage. What a great show with Michael leading his terrific band into the tunes that we all know so well :) This concert was a Bolton Rally from the start!! This was also a special night for Bob and I because we brought his mom and sister to the concert. Remember the extra tickets I wanted to sell? Well they went to a great cause...the sweetest mom around...Bob's adorable mom :) She chair danced and woo hooed as loud as I did!!! Boy will she have stories to tell her other children and grand children!! lol

Our 5 hour drive to Vegas went well and upon arrival on May 31 we circled the hotel and canvassed the casino as proper fan protocol requires. I  checked out all the ad posters in the casino advertising for Michael's concert...lol Nothing as enticing as the cardboard poster the other hotel "gave" me after one of Michael's concerts ;) So no need to plan and prepare for a death defying "re-location" of any said posters...LOL Michael's ads kept appearing out of nowhere everywhere I went! It started in the elevator. The elevator doors open and wow...there is Michael's beautiful smiling face in a large ad announcing Saturday night's show!! Nice welcome indeed!! I promptly took a photo of it and posted it on fb. Sylvia kindly informed me that I also appeared in the photo! A glass reflection captured me capturing Michael!!! I never noticed...lol Bullet proof glass covered the photo I might add!! Thought I would check just in case...lol There are all sorts of wide screen videos placed around the casino and every time I walked by, Michael's ad would appear. Each ad runs about 30 seconds and there are at least 10 different types of ads in rotation. Even Bob's mom started tapping me and saying ...look...there he is again!!! She would make a great co-hort. I have definitely created a new MB fan!! My mom, bless her heart, was already a MB fan. She was with me in spirit!! The excitement is starting...only hours away and I will be singing along with Michael....much to the disdain of my nearest seat mates. Too bad so sad..I WILL sing along...LOL

Concert day has arrived and we go to the casino cafe for breakfast and we run into Brian, MB's pianist :) We have a nice conversation and of course I tell him I can't wait until tonight for the concert. Oh boy....the Bolton crescendo is building! Michael even appears on the restaurant place mats!!! Sort of like an hors d'oeuvres!!! LOL We all make our umpteenth money deposit to the greedy little machines in the casino. Winning, losing, winning and of course losing again. The bewitching hour of MB concert preparation time had arrived and time to get ready for the real thing!! I have done this same routine for 23 years and it NEVER gets old....just better...and just as exciting as my first concert. I know many of you can relate. I KNOW I am NOT crazy...LOL Are we????? Nah!!! We all spruce up and off to the venue we go. We arrive early....of course...MB fandom rule #101. I am browsing at a very interesting little stand/shop that is set up for the concert goers to find something else to spend their money on!! Not Bolton items but a different set up that I haven't seen at a concert before. At least if you buy an item you don't completely "lose" like at the casino! The sellers are international but primarily East Indian and I bought a beautiful scarf dress perfect for summer. Bob's mom and sister each bought pretty rings. Bob wasn't liking shopping as much as he likes gambling so he stayed outside in the foyer where he runs into Milo. They are having a nice chat when I join them :) We all continue chatting and of course I ask him to please tell Michael we are in the house!! lol He is soooo sweet. What a perfect duo Michael and Milo create!! That is why MB has the sustaining power that he does in his profession in conjunction with his superbly talented voice!! No one makes it alone. Thanks Milo for always being so kind to all us fans! Time to go to our seats now :) I am now more than ready for some Michael Bolton music!!!! Enough teasers already!!

I check out our great seats in the second row just left and right of center. I had 2 pairs of seats with each being 2 seats away from the aisle seats in the second row. Perfect seats with no obstructions and most importantly.....stage access...LOL!! I am very happy indeed. Perfect photo taking seats :) I know I am bad about posting photos but I will try....at some point. The lights dim and the music for Go The Distance starts and you all know what that means!! Michael then appears and starts his first song....which I don't remember!!!! I am horrible with the song lists!!! If you all want to wait while I sit here for about 20 minutes more and hope the song comes to me??? I didn't think so...lol Something interesting occurred at the very beginning of Michael's first song and that was a lone fan walked right up to the stage and started filming Michael. Hmmmmm......security isn't moving an inch. I am thinking....well this could be good or go terribly wrong. Hmmmm....she continues filming uninterrupted. I know she is thinking this is pretty cool. Who wouldn't? She remains and then.....along comes another photo snapping fan and another and another until the aisles on both sides are filled with people!!! The lone fan silently floats away amongst the chaos she started...lol Now security decides they just might intervene. After all, this is Michael's first song!!! I knew then we had a crazy crowd and a crazier security group!! So for several songs the lax security is now spending every minute trying to chase the fans away. Those security deserved all the work they created. Everything finally calms down by the 3rd song or so. We went on to a loud fun filled night of great music!!! The beautiful Kelly Leveque joined Michael onstage!! Wow...beautiful duets indeed!!! They sang The Prayer, and 2 more songs that will come to me eventually...lol  At one point Kelly then sang a trio of songs solo which were wonderful also..Forever, I Found Someone and...? .Cameron performed a BEAUTIFUL solo!! I am so glad she is getting that opportunity to highlight her talent!! And Michael Lington blew the crowd away with his solos!!! Michael has the BEST band and each member compliments the other!! I do remember Michael singing Sweet Home Chicago about midway and that really revved us all up and perfectly fit into the early celebrating of breaking security rules!! It was a fast paced no bars hold on any rules kind of night. Michael even asked a beer toting attendee who walked along the front of the stage...what was she drinking? She never even noticed he asked her!! Oh heck..have another beer!!! lol What a waste!!! I am busy energetically chair dancing when I catch Michael's gaze upon the audience and I point at him and he returns the point. That never gets old!! Thanks Michael :) Let me try to list some of the songs that Michael did sing...TLAT, SHC, SILYBIL, WAMLAW...of course, ND, YDKM, SOTDOTB,HAISTLWY,and...? They will come to me...LOL The magic moment has arrived....WAMLAW. Michael is driving the crowd crazy out in the audience. It is soooo much fun to watch the surprised crowd when Michael does what is routine to us regulars :)  He eventually walks down the aisle near my seat. I was already in the aisle waiting....MB fandom rule # 102....lol I shake his hand and he smiles.....awwwwww.....what a night!!! Bob captures the fleeting moment on video :))))) I immediately go to my prearranged stage spot...MB fandom rule # 103...and wait for Michael to walk back on stage. Now the real rockin' out begins!!! Woohoo!!! I brought my obligatory t-shirt from Bob's fire station to give to Michael. I wait for the right moment and give it to him and as Michael takes the all knowing t-shirt he gives me a wink. Awwwww....so sweet! Thanks AGAIN Michael!! And my even sweeter husband captures that on video as well :))) I am one HAPPY Bolton fan!!! Michael leaves the stage and of course he returns for an encore song. I was hoping for RMB....but it wasn't. Well I guess I will just have to go to ANOTHER MB concert...dang!!! Such torture!!! LOL

As they say...what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas....and that is as much as I can remember at this moment!! lol It was a wonderful concert and Michael ROCKED Vegas once again!! Soooooo until next time and hopefully another Bolton Adventure.....THANK YOU Michael Bolton!! You are the BEST!!

                                      Kathy and LAFD Bob

Thanks for your exciting review Kathy... You are up late out there aren't ya!!! I have to scoot for work here...So glad it all worked out and your "guests" had a blast too. Who wouldn't..MB and crew really rock the house. What did you think of the Motown songs????? That's my fav part of the show now..Love him and Kelley.....Glad they let you all at the stage.. I take it that it was a high stage from what the other fan that posted here said.    So funny MB was talking to a fan that didn't even realize it!!LOL

Sounds like the trip was a blast from beginning to end...So glad...More later.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face before work. Robin in MD:)

LOL.....my dead brain Robin Md....of course Michael sang Ain't No Mountain High Enough with Kelly!!! I am sure I will be adding more posts!!! I believe that was the only Motown song? I know there are fans who have better memories than me when it comes to song lists. I am writing while I am alone here with no distractions!!! I falsely assume I can remember better...NOT!!!!

Keep the hints coming!! I will try to answer :)))
