Thought I would start this thread for there does appear, at times, to be different relevant articles, tweets, retweets, pictures etc relating to Michael but not really fitting into an already recognized thread nor, each of them individually, being able to be grouped together where a relevant thread could be started and so decided on this "Miscellany" thread.
I hope you agree with its relevance and that you enjoy everything that is put in as well as hoping that many will find interesting tidbits about Michael that can be included and help to make this, whilst a serious sharing of information, a FUN page to be able to visit too and, as is my intention, somewhere that everything which does not have a particular "home" can be placed, so that is all grouped together and can be easily found and located if someone wants to look at.
Here now, so that we can all focus on the main reason for this thread, is a beautiful picture of the "Theme" of the thread.......wonder if MB has ever been called that before ???? LOL.
Believe this one definitely belongs in here for I would say sharing with us that coconut sorbet is his favourite dessert is both miscellaneous and more than extremely relevant to the "THEME" of this website and in particular, to this thread !! LOL.
Hope everyone enjoys content and feels free to add their very own miscellany !!! :)

Michael Bolton’s soaring, Grammy Award-winning voice could fill arenas and flow down the sides. But on Aug. 25, he’ll perform at what, in comparison, is almost a supper club gig as he takes the stage in front of fewer than 400 folks at the Eldorado Hotel Casino.
“It’s so immediate and intimate,” said Jackie Smaga, executive director of the Michael Bolton Charities, which is presenting the dinner-concert (and a golf classic the next day) as part of its annual fundraiser. “You can really see and hear Michael.”
For the second year in a row, the Bolton Charities, now in its 21st year, is holding the fundraiser in Reno. The charity disburses money nationally (nearly $6 million since 1993) to organizations that help at-risk women and children. In 2012, the event netted nearly $150,000, with more than $60,000 being divided between the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and the Nevada Military Support Alliance, according to organizers.
This year, the Children’s Cabinet, which offers child and family support programs, is the local beneficiary of the fundraiser.
At the dinner-concert, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto is being presented with the Bolton Charities Lifetime Achievement Award. The charity is working with the attorney general’s office to create a state Family Justice Center, a one-stop provider of services to victims of domestic violence and their families.“It is a great honor for me to receive the Michael Bolton Charities Lifetime Achievement Award,” Cortez Masto said. “I have dedicated much of my career to public service and to that end — improving the lives of women and children. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with many phenomenal leaders in Nevada and around the world who helped me create and implement laws to better protect those at risk.”
Of the attorney general, Bolton said, “We share a commitment to continue to work in support of women and children at risk. With her support, we will accomplish our goal of building them a safer world — right here in Nevada.”
So, why Reno? For one, Bolton has several longtime friends in Northern Nevada, including philanthropist Jâlé Trepp, Nanci Glogauer of the Point Foundation and developer Chip Bowlby, co-chair of this year’s event and a member of the Bolton Charities board.
Two years ago, when the fundraiser was still being held in Ojai, Calif., “our friends convinced us to come to Reno,” Smaga said. “They offered up their services to help us organize and make a committee and make it happen. They said the benefit could have a meaningful impact on their community.”
That impact — donating locally a significant chunk of the money raised — was key, Trepp emphasized. “We said, ‘We can’t ask our friends and family and neighbors to buy tickets and tables and come out and then have the money go elsewhere. A lot of it has got to stay here.’ ”
As you might expect with someone who has been famous for 30 years, Bolton has a host of friends and acquaintances from the worlds of music, acting and sports, and many of them will be on hand next week.
At the dinner-concert, besides Bolton, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason will perform, as will singer Richard Marx, who has sung or written a chart-topping song in four different decades. John O’Hurley, the silky baritoned actor who played J. Peterman on “Seinfeld,” is master of ceremonies. Comedian Bog Saget? He’s on board, and new stars Dan and Laura Dotson of “Storage Wars” are going to be auctioneers.
“They just started getting into charity auctions,” Smaga said. “They are really going to add a whole new level to the live auction.”
A lavishly appointed live auction — think fighter-jet rides, safaris on the veldt, historic curios — is a hallmark of the Bolton Charities annual fundraiser. This year, two items that seem likely to attract bidder attention are a cast-autographed pair of boots from the Tony Award-winning “Kinky Boots” (plus tickets, backstage passes, a Manhattan hotel suite and Tony rehearsal tickets for next year), as well as $10,000 worth of golf rounds at courses across the West.
On Aug. 26, as part of the annual benefit, the Bolton Charities is debuting a golf event at Montrêux Golf & Country Club.
“Historically, the Michael Bolton Charities fundraiser has had a golf event associated with it,” said Chip Bowlby, the event co-chair and Bolton Charities board member. “Last year’s event, the first in Reno, was in November, so we didn’t have golf. We are very happy that golf is returning this year. Michael is a big golfer, and so are a lot of his friends who are athletes or in the entertainment world.”
Folks can purchase tickets for golf playing spots, including spots or threesomes with a celebrity. Taken together, the golf, dinner and concert (plus after-party), Bowlby said, offer “a really great draw for our event. I think we’re doing very well for our second year in Reno.”
Thanks a million Francoise and sorry I've been a bit late in finding all of this that you have put in....thank you !! :) Your link to the pictures doesn't work for me as it just keeps buffering but I have another link which I presume leads you into the same photos so I will use that one as I am going to transfer your article over into the MBC Event thread as it just dawned on me on reading Kathy's review of the event this morning, where she mentions about photos, that I have not put that link into the Charity thread. Hope okay with you that I put copy of the article in that thread too ??? :)
