Michael performs song he co-wrote and the theme tune for the movie "Fathers and Daughters" starring Russell Crowe and it is due to be presented at music festivals where could well earn nominations for awards in the film industry and this is main reason for starting this thread so that anything relevant can be kept together in one place. Hope you all agree ???

"Close To You" is beautiful too and could hear Karen singing with him. Michael should duet with her, always thought that and hearing him singing it, he definitely should; so many wonderful Carpenters songs he could choose from.

Love both tracks with MB's voice. Didn't Karen Carpenter sing Close to You? I love it, downloaded both to my Amazon Music.
Nice to have two new songs done by MB to enjoy before the new CD release.
Thanks ladies for the links!!

I Googled it as I so much remember her voice on this track. OMG they should do a virtual duet for this on his new CD!! Beautiful. Brings tears to my eyes. Love both songs very much as I am a daddy's girl myself.

There is going to be a soundtrack CD but a date for release hasn't been set yet. The film has still to premiere in UK and USA and I believe it is thought it will be soon in the US. It has only premiered in Japan and Italy earlier this month.

Would you folks believe that Richard Chamberlain, as far as I know, was the originator of Close to you" which was the B. side of the song "Blue Guitar" which was out in 1963. Wow! Michael's rendition of "Close to you" Is almost considered easy listening or middle of the road. I love it. I LOVE Richard Claderman. He's an awesome pianist. Karen'd version is my least favorite but they could add her voice if I'm saying this right posthumously, I think. That wold be awesome but once again, I prefer him singing it alone. Don't get me wrong, love his duets but prefer him solo. What was the second song I missed or perhaps I'm behind & haven't heard it yhet. wow! Love Easy listening as I've heard many tunes by Richard Claderman. have his Christmas CD so, yeah, he's totally awesome. All I can say is go Michael. he can sing opera, he can do just about anything. Will one be able to get it on CD or is CD'S going out? :(
Hi Robin R, I hope you can check your E-mails sweetie. Sylvia said the physical CD might be released down the line, but since the movie doesn't even have a nailed down release date in the U.S., we don't know yet. The soundtrack is available digitally on Amazon and ITunes. Take care girl, good to read you on here. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada xxx
