I am going to see Michael in concert tomorrow at the Bournemouth International Centre with my Mum and my Sister (if she's got over her sickness bug), if not, then my Boyfriend will join my Mum and I.
I really cannot wait for Saturday to come round, as I know it will be an incredible evening and that as always Michael will put on an incredible show.
Although I am really looking forward to seeing Michael perform again and struggling to contain my excitement, it will be a bitter sweet evening for me, as my amazing and wonderful Dad, who was a big fan of MB as well, sadly passed away in late October and I really wanted him to have at least one chance of seeing MB in concert, as I know he would have loved the whole atmosphere, though sadly that wasn't able to happen.
I have my Dad to thank for introducing me to music, as right from a youngster, my Dad always had music playing in the house or the car and he was always whistling/singing, it's safe to say my Dad absolutely loved music and as I say, he passed on his passion for music to me.
Even though I am not very good at singing, I used to love playing MB's CD's in the house/car and sing along with my Dad, it was always fun, so hearing Michael sing all his songs, will be tough, because my dearest Dad is no longer here, though hopefully he will be with us tomorrow in spirit and will thoroughly enjoy the show :)!
I am the youngest child and the youngest Daughter, being 23 and even though times have been really tough lately, tomorrow I will remain strong and have the best night ever for both my Dad and myself, as I know that's what he would have wanted.

Hi Kate and welcome to the forum! Well first, my sincere condolences for your loss. Sweetie, my mom was exactly like your dad and I grew up with music all around me too and my mom loved singing also. She passed away before I could introduce her to Michael’s music though, so you’re very fortunate to have shared that with your dad. Oh he will definitely be there in spirit with you with bells on, I’m sure, especially if you’re singing! :D There is a fantastic thread on this forum about people’s first concert experiences here:

You’ll find great concert reviews in there and also people’s tales of situations just like yours. I hope you find some comfort in them. Also, if you’d like to share how your concert went, we have a thread set up just for concert reviews here and we’d love to hear from you:

Ah so I went to the Bournemouth International Centre last night, with my Mum and my Boyfriend (sadly my Sister was still not well enough to join, which is ashame, as it would have been her first concert of seeing Michael live) though my Boyfriend came in my Sister's place and it was his first time of seeing Michael live, I was a little sceptical as to how he would find it and whether he would enjoy it, being a young guy of 23, but it's safe to say he absolutely loved Michael and his concert......he was screaming Michael's name with me and reached out to touch his hand twice, as did I :)! I still can't quite get over the fact that I touched MB's hand twice, i've always wanted to do that at one of his concerts, ever since I became a fan and especially because even though I am 23, it doesn't stop me admitting that Michael is a huge idol/inspiration to me. It just goes to show, what a diverse fan base he has and what a diverse age range his fans consist of!
Last night was the 3rd the MB concert that i've been to, my first ever experience of MB was at the BIC where I went last night and I was lucky enough to get 2nd row tickets. My 2nd experience of MB in concert was at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which was spectacular, especially as I had never been to the RAH before and it's such an amazing building! Then obviously last night back at the BIC was my 3rd experience of seeing MB in concert and again I was lucky enough to get 2nd row tickets :) which is absolutely awsome.
Michael really is in fantastic form at the moment, but then again his professionalism and form in my opinion never seems to waver, which is obviously why he has spent so long in the music industry and why he is still able to be in the music industry today and maintain his credibility/huge fan base throughout the world, because he grows with the times, yet still manages to keep the MB twists/elements to everything he does.
As for my Dad, I know that he was there with us last night, singing away and I know that he will be looking down on me and feeling so happy, because he was able to share the experience of MB is concert with me finally and see how much I enjoyed myself and how much fun I had :)!

Hey Kate, so glad to hear you’ve had such a good time at your concert! I’ll tell you, I really don’t know why we are surprised that 20-somethings enjoy Michael: his voice and music are amazing so why shouldn’t he acquire new fans? I’m glad to hear your boyfriend enjoyed it too! Good for you being able to touch his hand… Isn’t it fantastic to make contact with someone who gives us so much joy? Everyone who went to last week’s RAH show agreed that it was Michael’s best concert ever. BTW, if you’d like to share your experience and read other people’s reviews from the RAH and other concerts, we have a thread set up just for tour reviews right here:
http://www.michaelbolton.com/forum/topics/2010-concert-tour
There are reviews, pictures and even links to videos, in case you’d like to relive some of the best sights and sounds you’ve ever experienced! I’m sure other fans would love to hear your review too. We try to keep all the reviews in one place so it’s easier to find them. Well Kate, thanks again for sharing and hope you stick around. Enjoy the review thread if you choose to join us. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
P.S.: You mentionned last night's show twice instead of your first experience... :D
