Hi Gang,
Well after being disappointed for not seeing Barry Manilow last summer (also Phil Collins & Ringo Starr), and not being able to go to Atlantic City to see Michael next year in March....I accidently came across news of Elton John performing at Madison Square Garden also in March!! So I spent the past few days wondering if I should go see Elton or skip it since I had no one to go with. Well, I thought about how many years ago it's been since the last time I saw Elton (I think back in the 1990's!), and also missing Elton's 60th birthday show at the Garden about 4 years ago. So I decided to try to get myself a ticket. I went on ticketmaster.com and tried about 5 times till I came across a decent seat for myself (God, the other seat choices was so far off!). So I said to myself...I guess this is the best I can get, so I ordered the ticket!! I'm very excited about seeing Elton (this will be my third time seeing him live), since I've been a die hard fan of his for years. Also, I wanted to treat myself to something special for my birthday (which is in February), and it will be a milestone birthday for me too!! So March 16, is the date I'm going to Rock and Roll with Captain Fantastic...Happy Birthday to me!!! :)
Hugs,
Helena..xx...

Happy for you Helena :)
One of my friends Love's Elton John's Music as much as I love Michael Bolton's.
There are a few songs he has and I do love them but I'm not a die-hard fan.
So congratulations Helena and let us know how it all goes for you as well :)
Love Dianna xxx
Oooh, I like Elton John aswell. He seems like such a lovely man.
One of our British journalists, Piers Morgan interviewed him on UK TV last week. It was a great interview. Elton was funny compassionate and I believe he earned himself a lot of well deserved respect from a lot of people who probably didnt give him a second thought prior to this.
Elton filmed a docu drama programme a few years prior to this called Tantrums and Tiaras and it portrayed him as a stuck up, snobby, self obsessed, pig headed, foul mouthed, rude arrogant drug crazed junky, but in the Piers Morgan interview he proved that he is a talented, compassionate man. He has gone up in a lot of people estimation.
I 'd love to see him live. Can I join you. Its my 'milestone' birthday next year too!! Ha Ha!!
you are going to have a fantstic night and I'm so jealous!!! Ha Ha!!
Love Jennifer XXXX
I met Elton many years ago when he stayed in the hotel. He was very sweet and actually quiet shy .His manager is a total sweetheart and a very funny guy too .I love Barry ,i see he is coming to the Uk next year and am hoping he comes to Dublin ,would love to see him live.Enjoy Elton xx
Hi Helena,
Glad you decided to go for the ticket - just remember - you are not going alone - the rest of the audience will be with you and I bet they ain`t going because they don`t like him - just you turn to the person nearest and start talking girl. lol.
Like Jennifer, I watched the programme with him and Piers and thought it was great - nothing to do with the fact that I`ve always liked Piers Morgan. :) Elton was great on it and on great form as usual - he has got such a sense of humour and sure ain`t scared to mock himself !
Lovely guy ! You enjoy Helena - especially when it is your birthday present to yourself - they are the kind of presents we all deserve! lol.

Hi gang,
Sorry I didn't answer sooner...had a busy weekend! :)
Actually Sylvia, this is the second time I'm going to a concert alone. My first time was New Years Eve 1998 when I saw Boy George and Culture Club at Radio City Music Hall. That felt real strange at first, since I was alone there on NYE when most people are with family and friends. I was sitting in the orchestra in an ailse seat. The man next to me was there with his girlfriend and two of her friends. But once Boy George took the stage, I forgot I was alone! It was a fantastic way to spend the holiday with an artist as colorful and down to earth as George! When the clock struck 12, confettie came down and people next to each other shook hands or hugged and wished each other Happy New Years...so it wasn't so bad after all! After the show I bought a tour book, hopped on the subway and went home with a wonderful memory!! And was so glad that after all those years being a fan of Culture Club, I finally saw them live! Can't wait to see them in 2012 for their anniversary tour...will go to that too!!
Oh Jennifer, how I wished you live closer and could go with me!! I did hear about this documentary years ago, but did not see it. I've heard about Elton's temper, but it doesn't faze me...LOL! He's human and has his good days and bad days too...
Sharon...I hope you get the chance to see Barry. I know he's heading to the UK and Australia too! Oh, how I wish I met Elton....now I'm jelous! LOL!
Love,
Helena..xx..
Well gang..... a few more weeks to go till I see Sir Elton......getting excited!!!! I heard "I'm still Standing" this morning on the radio, while driving my car to the shopping mall and it dawned on me.....oh wow the concert is not too far off....LOL!!!! So I am so ready!!! :)
Helena..xx.....
Hi Helena,
It sure isn't that long away now - you'll be counting the days down soon......you should do something like what Kathy did for Michael with the wee t-shirt for Amelia - you need to get something for Zachary !!! :)))
Sylvia. Your wee Scottish friend.
Hi Wee one,
I would if I was sitting down below near the stage, but as always I'm sitting up and away and won't be able to get close to Elton. Don't know how to get backstage either....have never attempted to do that at a concert....after the show I just hop on the train and go home. So Zachary won't be seeing any gifts from me....oh well. :(
Helena..xx...
Thanks Juliet, but I have to pay $40.00 to join the club. They were selling tickets to this show months ago, but nothing about backstage passes. I go on this site on occasion and have joined the forum. Anyway I'll be by myself at the concert and once the show is over I just want to go home, I have to go to work the next day. Thanks anyway!!
Helena...xx...
Well gang......
The concert is getting closer....this Wednesday is the big night to see Elton and I'm finally getting excited!!!! Thank goodness we are doing well this month with the weather....no snow in the forcast, so that is a relief!!! Not sure yet what I'm wearing (most likely jeans and a nice shirt) or having for dinner....but will see what my mood is like that evening. I'm wondering which songs Elton will sing....love so many of them!!!! Plan on getting a tour book and a t-shirt, if the prices are ok....will see when I'm there!! Any day now!!! :)
Helena...xx....
