What fun pictures!!  Love the hat.....he really looks Russian in that one....LOL!!

Why the sad face Ivana? Michael's paternal grandparents are from the same city as mine...Minsk, Russia. Although today I believe the area is Belarus now. The city is the same name however. I still remember the old geography :/

Hi Kathy,

because I know the horrible way Russian treated Jewish. And not only Jewish, but their own people as well.......Just remember Stalin etc.

I think this is the reason why Michael´s grandparents fled from Russia/Belarus to the US. Or what your grandparents told you about those "Russian/Belarus times" ?? What was the reason they fled ?

Hi Ivana...it is true about the harsh treatment of lots of people everywhere. I remember my grandmother talking about being a young girl and being forced to work in the fields and they would be whipped if they didn't work fast enough. It was during the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. But in reality it isn't every Russian that is at fault. It is the government that is most responsible in most cases. In the end, Michael has some Russian roots that I am sure he is proud of since from those roots came he :) As well as my own roots :) Just as all Germans certainly aren't responsible for the atrocities that happened in their country. Don't mean to lecture girl just didn't want you to associate sadness with Michael's hat. Most people leave their home countries to improve their lives and most always return to learn their roots :) I am assuming Michael realized the "Russian look" of his hat and didn't mind. Maybe I am wrong :/ ....but don't think so :) Twas a nice little discussion!!! lol

Helena, you are right LOL, it is about time for flowers and t-shirts instead of snow/rain and sweaters and winter jackets. But let's think twice where to put our laundry!

That is true Astrid.....March is a crazy month with the weather....but it's nice to see the flowers starting to come up from the dirt!!  A few of my neighbor's have been hanging their laundry on the line since the weather is warming up.....I hope it stays this way!!!  In Italy they say Marzo e' Pazzo, which means March is Crazy....LOL!!!!
