Hi Robin (MD),

more promotion - I absolutely agree!!! And it would be helpful for Germany as well, I think. I joined this forum after I started  looking for reliable tour dates, because I was so angry reading notes that he has been over here (Berlin, January 2010 e.g.) - and I did not know about this, although I was looking for concert dates! On the other hand twice I had tickets for concerts which have been cancelled without any explanation, so I can't help thinking because of low ticket sales ... The concert in Düsseldorf last December could have sold (at least) three times more tickets! So I was really grateful that Michael did the show anyway - and did not for a single moment evoke the impression that he might have been disappointed about that - and so did not the great band!

So the question still is, why there is this lack of promotion. I remember reading or listening him saying, that the music business has changed. Probably since he can not rely any longer on the support of a huge recording company like Sony, promotion might be a problem due to financial issues. So solutions are needed - I guess none of us owns a promotion company - or am I wrong ? LOL . And the question is, what kind of promotion? Or better: where people do get their information nowadays? Probably fb is part of the solution, although - like many of you - I myself did not (yet) join facebook, and I guess a lot of people who would buy his tickets or albums are not on facebook too.

Up to now there is a total of 4,834 members on this forum and already lots of "us" are following him on fb (147,402) and/or twitter (6,874).But compare fb members of e.g. his duet partners: Rascal Flatts: 2,431,364, Orianthi:403,668, Agnes Monica: 776,316,Seal: 383,798, Kenny G: 350,747 ... Not to mention Lady Gaga 31,772,498!!! and so on ...

Working with all these people will surely attrack their attention on him too/again, but I think he is a class of his own and deserves a lot more attention because of his musical skills, especially his unique voice.

So the question could also be: if he is there - where are we??? Where are all those fans who - like me - complain about a lack of information. Where can they be picked up? I remember a discussion on radio stations somewhere on this forum. Michael seems not to be played too often anymore - did he not receive once awards for his songs being played 24/7? I think Michael is right, that everything has changed, but I don't see any reason that he might have that success again that he once had - any suggestions for his support? Like you I am convinced, that people will be excited - as I am now LOL.

Greetings from

Astrid

P.S. Thank you for your detailed information about the camera you used in your last concert - I will keep it in mind!

Astrid. You said what I'm thinking. You wrote it out for me. I hear you&everyone loud&clear about lack of promotion. What if people don't have a computer? What if folks can't access facebook or twitter? What if? What if? What if? I hear you girlfriend. A girl after my heart. Thanks for writing what I'm thinking. You read my mind. I mean who's this Monica girl? Lady GaGa (georgia Georgia) as I kiddingly (no such word) say about Lady GAGA. Really she's not all that in my opinion. Like I said, thanks for writing what I'm thinking. I know. If it weren't for this forum, I'd never know anything. I'd be in the dark, that's for sure&look at our BB Sylvia from Scotland. She didn't have a puter&look. She missed out on seeing him in Scotland. No. You don't want me to get started on the lack of promotions&public information. If it were certain artists, they're all over the place. At least Michael knows who is loyal fans but it doesn't always fill a concert hall.

Once again Astrid, thanks for saying ghow I feel. I don't know how to write that well.

Hi Robin,

(we are running of reply buttons, so I hope you will find me LOL)

Astrid, your questions are questions I did try to solve in my head (to make some sort of start somewhere) concerning Michael Jackson, because also in (my beloved) MJ's case it is so strange that there seems to be a complete agony of some sorts about dealing with everything, asking the right questions, putting out the right movements ,I don't know how to describe it at the moment, but compared to how many fans MJ has ,who are all in agreement how sad  and untimely his death is,it seems  as if peoples' mouths are glued together and just cannot get the right words out(myself included) which would start the right movements, concentrate on justice for him instead of discussing everything else and thinking about everybody else sorrounding Michael Jackson, his myth, his death, justice for him and so on-it seems Michael Jackson is the least important person in all of Michael Jackson.-which clearly is the biggest injustice and very wrong.

Concerning our MB now: let me think about him -maybe I have some ideas.Alles Liebe, wohnst du eigentlich in Deutschland? Angelica

Hi Robin and Angelica,

in Germany our complaints/prayers already seem to be heard! Christine posted a link from LEA where Michael performed on 4/5/2011. They said  that in Germany Michael is promoted by Ossy Hoppe, who won two prices for organizing best concert event and best tour! That is great news!! Probably things might change. Also Michael was very enthousiastic talking about a German female singer called Helene Fisher, who shared stage with him. They sang HAISTLWY together. Last december they also did "Silent Night" on the Jose Carreras Gala, before he went to Assisi.

Although the reporting language is German you might be interested hearing a snippet of Michael and Helene's duet:

Lots of greetings

Astrid

PS.

Alles Liebe Angelica

Hi again,

sorry, her name is Helene Fischer! (dam danglish LOL). And Michael seems to be just recently be promoted by O. Hoppe.

BTW, I know that Christmas is over, but if you would like to hear a complete duet:

Silent Night, MB and Helene Fischer

The LEA link above also shows Klaus Meine being interviewed about MB and HF- he said something very nice and appreciative about HF. But: Michael Bolton and the Scorpions - that would be "my cup of tea" !!!!!

Awesome Astrid. Am I in the dark or who are these women Michael's singing all these duets with? He NEVER SINGS WITH AN AMERICAN SINGER HARDLY.

I guess I'm jut too honest&opinionated with my views. Perhaps I best keep quiet.

Astrid,is that the reply to what I wrote? Anyway, don't you think that there is a strong resemblance between the(probably former) darling of the nation German actress USCHI GLAS ("zur Sache Schaetzchen") just read the translation:"go for it, baby" and her memoirs, which she published "mit einem Laecheln" "with a smile"? My ex-boyfriend was very into Uschi Glas when he was a teenager.

Angelica, is there a way you can send me an email? If I were on your friend's list, perhaps. I don't know if it's safe to put my email address out here. I want to get in to the discussion of MJ'S death&someone else with you but not out on here as it's too long involved.

Thanks for the Silent Night, Astrid. Love it. I do like her voice. She sings within my range&at the end, their voices really blended.

Robin the boltonnut from L. A. CA USA
