Hi everyone, well this is my first attempt at starting a discussion so hope I’m doing this right... :D . A couple of weeks ago, I asked Gail when she thought would be a proper time to start thinking of what we fans want to do for our Michael’s 60th birthday. She said she was out of ideas, but suggested I’d start a thread asking fans for suggestions. I figure we have exactly 4 months, starting today, to come up with something fun and get mobilised to achieve it. I’m no organizer, I just thought we could share ideas so let’s put our heads together and see what we can come up with! :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada J
*The 2 most popular suggestions so far are:
- individual donations to michaelboltoncharities.com, mentionning they are made in honor of Michael’s birthday, of any amount you feel comfortable with.
-a collective wall-hanging made from personalized fabric squares sent by fans that will be stitched together. The 4 inch/10 cm squares (with small blank margin) only need have your signature and location but can be crafty as you are able. For
more info, ask here, or PM either me, or Amie Angeli who will be doing the stitching and presenting the finished product to our Michael.
**Note: The final deadline for recieving fabric squares is February 15th, so you don't have much time left. :D
**It would also mean a lot to Michael if fans donate to the Red Cross for victims of hurricane Sandy at:
then E-mail Gail at boltoninfo@aol.com with your name and location, so she can add them to the MBC donors list.
**If you feel strongly about sending Michael a card or personal gift, you may send it to:

*Note that the deadline for recieving cards and presents is February 20th 2013, whether you send them to either Gail or Michael Bolton Charities.

Man, Michael's gonna need a room wall just for this wall hanging. Wow! @ least he'll know he will know we're all thinking of him for his birthday. His hitting that mile stone, it has to be special. Boltonnut from L. A. CA who loves life & Michael Bolton :)
Sylvia,
Let's just say we have to be sure to measure our quilt squares carefully,
because size does matter! (Take that how ever you like!)

Yes, you are right Joy, for a far more precise, exactitude, of the measurement is required to be adhered to by one, when one is discussing, MB's wall hanging: frivilous frivolity is not allowed !! Nearly went for three "f's" there, that one gave one the opportunity to use, but declined the invitation !!! LOL.

Good Morning Everyone,
I was just wondering about the cake. I really haven't gotten any ideas on the decoration aspect of the cake, which is okay. I will figure that out myself, since there has been no response on that. Does anyone have any ideas on what flavor of cake or what kind of filling to use for the cake? I am hoping to sit down with the cake decorator this week to get it all planned out. So if you have any ideas, please let me know before the end of the week.
Thanks,
Tami
I have missed something Tami for I never saw any post by you about a "cake" !!! :) Will look back through thread to find, but on flavour, believe it was always said that Michael's favourite flavour was vanilla; whether over years that has changed, don't know !! Know also, because very recently Michael did say, his favourite sorbet was coconut so would imagine a cake containing some coconut ingredient would go down well too !!! :) Hope that is of some help and possibly for decoration, it was always said that Michael's favourite flower was white roses, so maybe icing decorated with white roses ?????? :)

Hey Tami, on the flavor of the cake, definitely vanilla. His favorite flavor of ice cream, if it hasn't changed, is la dulce de leche, if that helps. I don't know that they'd make icing with that flavor but I'm just throwing it out there. Can they make a cake in the shape of a Grammy? lol Good luck on figuring it out Tami, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
Now girls, let's not 4-get our Michael loves his peanut M&M's...so how's about the Big "60" in M&M's...LMBO! I think he's gonna cry for this birthday! What ever you plan Tami...have Fun w/it:)!
Mary (Meg's mom)!
Hi Tami,
I would go with vanilla cake for sure, everyone should be fine with that basic flavor. Maybe if they can do a la dulce de leche (which is a caramel toffee type flavor) icing or filling and then a vanilla frosting. How large a cake will this be? Anyone know his favorite color? Write the "Happy 60th Birthday MB" in his fav color. Get those candles in the number shapes, a "six" and a "zero" unless you really want to put 60 candles on it!! If you are going to light them, better get just the two candles. (Much safer)

Hey Joy, FYI, Michael's favorite color is turquoise. Take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
