Brainstorming for our Michael's birthday

 

Hi everyone, well this is my first attempt at starting a discussion so hope I’m doing this right... :D . A couple of weeks ago, I asked Gail when she thought would be a proper time to start thinking of what we fans want to do for our Michael’s 60th birthday. She said she was out of ideas, but suggested I’d start a thread asking fans for suggestions. I figure we have exactly 4 months, starting today,  to come up with something fun and get mobilised to achieve it. I’m no organizer, I just thought we could share ideas so let’s put our heads together and see what we can come up with! :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada J

*The 2 most popular suggestions so far are:

 

- individual donations to michaelboltoncharities.com, mentionning they are made in honor of Michael’s birthday, of any amount you feel comfortable with.

-a collective wall-hanging made from personalized fabric squares sent by fans that will be stitched together. The 4 inch/10 cm squares (with small blank margin) only need have your signature and location but can be crafty as you are able. For

more info, ask here, or PM either me, or Amie Angeli who will be doing the stitching and presenting the finished product to our Michael.

 

**Note: The final deadline for recieving fabric squares is February 15th, so you don't have much time left. :D

**It would also mean a lot to Michael if fans donate to the Red Cross for victims of hurricane Sandy at:

then E-mail Gail at boltoninfo@aol.com with your name and location, so she can add  them to the MBC donors list.

Love the photo Kellie and they look absolutely super and so darn cute....lovely !!! :)    It is Tami who is making a cake for Michael but I got the impression that she is making it on behalf of herself to take to the birthday concert in York and to give to Michael as a present from her.....maybe I am totally wrong but that was what I thought and she was just looking for ideas because obviously wants to make it as near as is possible to something MB is going to like.  As far as I know and understand it is only the wall hanging that Amie is putting together that is from us all on the forum.

Hi All,

 

   Yes I am ordering the cake for Michael.  It will be a full sheet cake and it is going to be from all of us fans.  Which is why I am asking for ideas.  He is going to be getting it at the York concert.  I am going to be putting in the order tomorrow morning when I get off from work.  Thank you everyone for the ideas.

Hi Tami,

I know it's late to even think of this, but some bakeries make icing sheet photos from pictures.  You can cut and eat the picture.  You could make some type of collage picture of MB, his girls, the grandbabies etc.

Hope we were all able to help you figure out something good!  I am sure it will be wonderful.  Take lots of pictures, have fun and let us know what your final design was OK?

You know since this cake is from all of us, would you like some help paying for it?  I don't know how much a big cake like that runs. 

I wouldn't mind chipping in a few dollars to help the cause.  You'd have to let us know how to get the money to you.

Thanks very much for doing it on behalf of us all and I'm with Joy on the expense of, if you want us to chip in ??  Just a thought, as it is from everyone on here and you are one of the "oldies," so you know the term "Bolton Buddies".....as I say just a thought as to who it is from.  Thanks again Tami !! :)
