Hi everyone, well this is my first attempt at starting a discussion so hope I’m doing this right... :D . A couple of weeks ago, I asked Gail when she thought would be a proper time to start thinking of what we fans want to do for our Michael’s 60th birthday. She said she was out of ideas, but suggested I’d start a thread asking fans for suggestions. I figure we have exactly 4 months, starting today,  to come up with something fun and get mobilised to achieve it. I’m no organizer, I just thought we could share ideas so let’s put our heads together and see what we can come up with! :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada J

*The 2 most popular suggestions so far are:

- individual donations to michaelboltoncharities.com, mentionning they are made in honor of Michael’s birthday, of any amount you feel comfortable with.

-a collective wall-hanging made from personalized fabric squares sent by fans that will be stitched together. The 4 inch/10 cm squares (with small blank margin) only need have your signature and location but can be crafty as you are able. For

more info, ask here, or PM either me, or Amie Angeli who will be doing the stitching and presenting the finished product to our Michael.

**Note: The final deadline for recieving fabric squares is February 15th, so you don't have much time left. :D

**It would also mean a lot to Michael if fans donate to the Red Cross for victims of hurricane Sandy at:

www.redcross.org/

then E-mail Gail at boltoninfo@aol.com with your name and location, so she can add  them to the MBC donors list.

**If you feel strongly about sending Michael a card or personal gift, you may send it to:

Michael Bolton

c/o Michael Bolton Charities

P.O. Box 936

Branford, CT 06405

U.S.A.

*Note that the deadline for recieving cards and presents is February 20th 2013, whether you send them to either Gail or Michael Bolton Charities.

Hey Robin,  Just remember when he has that arm around you again, and his scarf is all over you:)! You be thinking of US:)! LMBO:)! Just hand him a note....then maybe he'll read it, and reply!

If he would come to the Derby Festivities, I'd find him & ask myself...but I don't think he's into horses! JMO!

Mary (Meg's mom)!

Vegas & Anaheim?  You are o-n-e lucky duck!  Enjoy!  Amie

Where are you Amie? Aren't you in PA? You saw him there, right? Didn't you go to a book signing there in Chester? I may be wrong. Forgive me that I am.

I got a housesitting gig in February - surprise, surprise! - and couldn't take off to York for his BD concert, alas.  People were counting on me. . .  Been pushing the library to get him to do an Author Talk & book signing in his own hometown, but no word on that yet, either.  Housesitting again in May, then I want to take off & go!  (Provided I get new tires for the car or plane tickets abroad - LOL!)  We'll see how things shape up, but I've been itching to leave Westport for awhile, and keep ending up back here again.  If I had the bucks, I'd go to his concerts in Warsaw, Latvia, then go back to St. Petersburg, hopefully warmer than in September, which it was - complete with cold rain - last time I was there.  So-o-o-o, there it is.  Got the travel bug so bad.  I should have MB pack me in his suitcase - ROTFLMAO!  Yeah, right!  Cheers, Amie

Hi Amie,

Did we ever find out if Michael has even seen the wall hanging yet?

I know what you mean about having the travel bug. Looks like I will try to drive to Ohio to see him if no other concerts come closer before that date.

Have fun trying to get in MB's suitcase! :D

Gee does Michael know of the quilt? and did he have a chance to get home to see it yet. ???  Any one know.  Thanks.  Sharon

Lordy, lordy, should think he must have been home & gotten his "bin" full of birthday presents by now!  He's got that concert in Vegas tonight, right?  But post-Eastern Europe tour, he did a concert, appearances, etc, in NYC last weekend, and he certainly should have popped in at home.  Not that I saw any sign of him, last weekend on my way to the store. But I don't go by there very often, sometimes barely once a month, despite living 5 minutes from his house.  Don't go out very much.  Lack of any word seems very much out of character for Michael.  So very many people pitched in & contributed to this, I can't believe he'd disappoint so very many of his fans.  Maybe Gail has heard something from Michael, Taryn, or other staffers?

Best regards to everyone - Amie

Thanks Amie. You live 5 minutes from his house. ? OH my good ness.

Just about. . . can walk over in 10.  Westport is not all that terribly big.  Yeah, he's driven past me hundreds of times over the years, sat at tables in restaurants within 20 feet of me & probably never noticed.  "The Invisible Woman" - LOL!  But I keep an amazingly low profile, don't go out a lot or anything.  And when I've seen him in restaurants or anything, I never say anything - doesn't seem polite to disturb his dinner.  Really do wish Marta at the Library would get off her duff & set up an Author Talk!  She was sick recently, so perhaps she's gotten behind on her work.  Anyway, perhaps he will do something for the Library.  He's done some nice things for the town when help was needed (that & his helping out fundraising with musicians for Sandy relief is what gave me the idea to use the Red Cross blanket from the emergency shelter in Westport as the backing for his wallhanging).

Cheers, Sharonrose!  Amie

Hey Amie,

I'm sure he got it by now, but the man doesn't sit still long enough to do anything for himself! I'm sure he was & still is very appreciative of that Wallhanging:)! I bet he got choked up, too!

If anyone goes to his concert & gets to meet him, I hope they ask him what he thought about it! Then in there review, they could share the words he used to describe how he feels about it! JMO:)!

Mary (meg's mom)!

PS. Has anyone heard how Tom is doing since his surgery? Hope he is recovering well!

Hi Amie,
I knew you lived in Westport, didn't realize how close or that it is such a small town. So cool and lucky for you that you've been able to actually see him drive by you or see him in a restaurant or someplace.  You've never gone up to him after his meal so as not to disturb him and asked for an autograph? Just to see him in person like that would put me up on that cloud!
Joy
NJ

Hi Joy!  Glad to see you on here again.

No, I've never asked anyone for an autograph (no, not ever!), although I've gotten signed books (used to have a great collection, but they're all gone now), and I sign books.  Westporters are kinda cool (maybe that's why I've lived here longer than anywhere else).  Not unusual to see Paul Newman (before he became ill & passed on), Joanne Woodward, and who-all running around town.  Martha Stewart is gone (nobody mourns any loss there, she was bad press for the town), but used to see her around.  You kinda get used to seeing celebs from time to time, but just never bother them or interrupt whatever they're doing or anything - and too busy tending to your own To Do List, etc, to interrupt yourself!

Well, The Maestro has returned, I got the house & all ship-shape just in time.  And tomorrow morning I'm off!

Stay well & happy - Amie
