Out of all of Michael's amazing songs he has ever sang/wrote
Which one is your favourite and why?

Interesting, most people's choices are power ballads.
The one I could listen to forever is "Once in a Lifetime". Blew me away when I first heard it. Resonates too, as my first and only boyfriend became my first and only husband - still going strong, and getting stronger, 33 years later. We don't agree on everything - Michael's music, for a start! - but it doesn't matter.
"Go The Distance" is the one I play when I need a bit of encouragement to keep going; for example, when I was facing 23 exams in three weeks at college in 1999, and again recently, when I was "at risk" of redundancy at work after only a year of being with the company, and had to fight to keep my job. Guess what? I applied for two new posts, and got both! So I had a choice, such a turnaround for my self-confidence, and a really enviable position to be in, given the current economic climate.

Hi Margaret in Kent :)
Mine is "said I loved you, but I lied" and it has now been validated again :) stronger then ever it has become to mean so much more
how you might say ?
I try to NOT put music with what is happening in my life but sometime it just can't be helped
I decided probably 40 years + that I just loved music that much I never wanted to hear a song that made me feel sad but over the years and we get a bit smarter as we get older it sneaks in and it happens
Bill and I have been together since we were 18 and we're 47 an 46
"taking it easy "Eagles was and still is very special to us it was well lets just say a song playing at our first special moment (I know too much information :))
When our secong daughter was born we nearly lost her (We had already lost a child our first pregnacy was twins one live and one died) anyway on the way back and forth to the hospital etc all I seem to hear was "Elton John's " "sad songs" song and now every time I hear it I think Of our daughter who is now nearly 27 and has given me 1 gran-daughter and another due 14th June
But these last couple of month I have been sickly and they found a mass on the front of my brain after test etc
The Thursday 21st April after having some test done we waited all day they were rushing the results because we would have had to wait til after all the public holidays etc and they all knew we were very worried anyway
We were sitting outside of a shopping center when we got the call I ask Bill to answer it but of cause they had to speak to me
As it turned out it wasn't Cancer and I couldn't look at him but when I put down the phone and told him we just burst into tears and stayed in each others arms for a little while to gather ourselves
When he could manage to drive he put the CD player on "Said I loved you but I lied" was the song he choose and now it holds an extra special part to my life
So Michael if you ever read this forum I just want to once again tell you your music is everything and so much more
Thankyou
Love Dianna xxx
Hi Ann, thanks for your response. Well, glad to hear you’re trying to be more active on the forum! Sometimes I know it’s because some people have no clue how it works and that’s why they don’t post. I’ve always said this forum should come with instructions! :D Oh wow, if you have a special attachment to “Walk away”, I won’t ask you why, but good choice! Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about “I’m not ready” from the new album? To me, it’s like the modern equivalent of “Walk away” but even more raw in emotion, it still makes me cry even though I’ve listened to it several times already. Well anyway, thanks for sharing Ann, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
The 1st song I ever heard Michael sing was " How am I supposed to live without you"...I asked everyone I worked with back then, and found out his name...then along
came All of the rest:)! To be very honest, I love every song he sings, but I really do like "Dock of the Bay"....I guess because I grew up singing this song alot with
friends:)! But I love all of his songs for one reason or the other!!!
Have a Great Day!
Mary (Meg's mom)!
Hm if it could be a duet I would chose Vivo per lei (version of Mciahel Bolton and Helene Fischer).
But there are to much geniouse songs of him!
Good to see this thread. Wow! Love all choices here but I have to say "Drift Away" is an ultimate favorite of mine. Love the words, Of course, love his voice & oh"! the musical arrangement & the backup singers!!!! Wow!!!!!! But as I've said before, "Now that I found You," "Stand Up For Love" & "I Promise You." Wow! Boltonnut from L. A. CA
Hard choice because depending on the mood, it could change from, "Said I Loved You But I Lied" to "WAMLAW"
But I am also partial to "Once In A Lifetime". When each of my sons were babies, if they were cranky or tired, I used to play it and dance with them and then they would fall asleep in my arms!!!
Aw Lee. I understand the moods of the song. Once In a Life time is another awesome song. Boltonnut from L. A. CA & Fields of Gold.
Hi Lee, oh I remember those good old days of putting my babies to sleep that way... I love "Once in a lifetime" too! Thanks for sharing Lee, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
